Slaying Monsters (59)

Clementine's POV:

My sword flames blue when I'm melded with my watcher. I just sit watching as she paces. We can't meld because I am pregnant and no one knows what will happen if we do. The pup could be in trouble if we did or she could gather strength. I want to try because it could be a great thing for my daughter but I could never put her in danger. Right now we are waiting to meet the most wanted criminal in our world. She is a Chupacabra and she isn't the killer they think she is. I believe that she is trying to help her child. I just have to prove it.

Wilson drags her into the dungeon cell. The look of pain and hurt on her face is more than I can take. "Cut her free! Now!", I scream. She looks at me like I have 2 heads. "Azul will protect me and I can't look at her in pain like this for her child.", she gasps at me. "How? I have never spoken a word because it would put her in danger. Please princess tell me how you knew.", she reaches for my hands as soon as he releases her.

"I honestly don't know how I know. It's as if I can feel your heart. I know you haven't killed anyone. You are innocent but I don't know why you are doing this.", I look at her kindly. She sits back on her legs. As she looks at me intently I can tell she wants to tell me something else but is wary. "I understand I would be cautious too. Wilson will you get a bath, change of clothes and some food for our guest?", I request.

Wilson looks at Azul first and then retreats. "I think I can trust you but I must tell you, my friend is Azul. She is a Royal Watcher. (The Chupacabra trembled showing she knows what the watchers are.) Because I am pregnant I need to protect my unborn pup. Knowing that you are innocent isn't enough to make me get reckless. I want you to trust me but I honestly don't know how to help you in that way.", I tell her.

"You are right princess. I can't trust you because there's more at stake than just me. I have to put a stop to this madness (she drops her head). I just don't know how yet. I have tried everything I know. Nothing works.", the last part is just a whisper.

Wilson brings back a change of clothes, and a tray of food. "The bath is ready. Does she want to eat first or take the bath?", he is confused as to why I am doing this. "What is your name dear?", I asked her. She looks at me like she is grateful to be treated with respect. "Farah, it's Arabic for happiness or joy. Although I don't feel it right now. I feel broken, heavy, my heart is torn and it will never heal. I have lost the love of my life. My husband left me. He felt betrayed by my actions. I (she paused) couldn't explain why I was doing what I am doing. I couldn't tell him. I felt like my world crumbled and I knew how to fix it. I just couldn't. Now I've lost everything. Death is my only option.", this woman was so broken.

"Farah you may eat your food first or bathe first. Just let me know what you want. Azul will take you for your bath.", I am thankful for my husband. "I haven't eaten in 2 days so I will eat first.", she picks up the tray. "Will you can leave us. Azul is here to protect me and Farah will not hurt me. You should investigate the situation I spoke of earlier please.", I implore him to do my bidding.

After Farah eats she takes her bath. I offer her to rest before we talk. I can tell she hasn't been sleeping. "You are safe here Farah. Rest before we talk again. Azul will watch over us both. She is quite capable.", I walk out of the room.

"I want to know when this woman gave birth and I want to know now! You (I point to a random wolf) find out every single thing you can about her marriage. Find this husband! I need to talk to him.", I yell. I fall into my office chair, typing before my butt hits the seat. I need information fast. When she wakes up I want to be prepared for the interrogation.

I have a stack of papers before me. Everything I need to know about Farah and her innocence. Now I just wait for her to wake up. We can stop the murders and put an end to this reign of terror. Wilson is out with Oranssi they are looking for the real killer.

Farah's husband Jumani is extremely helpful but refuses to speak with her even after I explain everything to him. I even offer to show him my file of proof. I feel sad for her but maybe she is right it's best to free your true love than to confine them.

Plus even knowing she is protecting her child will never make him trust her again. She should have just told him about the little girl (Amani) to begin with. Then none of this would be happening. After reading all of the evidence my team found I came to the conclusion that the beast was Farah's rapist and Amani was the outcome of that attack. If Farah had only confessed the truth Amani would be safe in her mothers arms. Jumani would be home with his wife and step daughter providing protection for them both. I have to believe he would have excepted the child. Jumani is a good man and talked of his wife with great love.

As it is, he doesn't know about the little girl and may never read the file I gave him. He will never trust her again because she didn't trust him. This is just the saddest story ever. Farah has lost so much. I feel like I should give her some part of her life back.

I walk down to her cell. I watch her sleep for a few minutes. It's like she hasn't had any sleep for months. She must be really depressed. Looking closely I see the tear stains on her face. She cried herself to sleep. I can't imagine her pain. She had no choice but to protect her daughter. Amani is little and can't protect herself. If only Jumani knew.

I walk over to the window and watch the rain fall. If he truly loves her he would never leave her. I just don't understand. He must have been pressured. She felt pressure too. I can only imagine. I feel a tear fall and then another. Her pain is unbearable even for me a stranger.

I need to get Amani for her. She needs to see all is not lost. I motion for Azul. "Can you find her daughter and bring her here? I won't leave this place or go into her cell until you return. I will stay in my office.", Azul just nods to the affirmative. I walk back to my office to wait it out. I wonder what Russell is doing...

Russell was starting on the list. I wish I knew how it was going and how far he had gotten. Our job was to bring them in dead or alive. Farah was different. I had to know why. I just couldn't believe this beautiful young mother would purposely hide herself from her husband all because of her missing daughter. Amani would soon be here and then I would have the whole story.

The father of Amani, who is he? Why is Farah afraid of him? Why did she fall in love and marry Jumani if Amani's father was in the picture? So many questions. I walked over to the window again. The rain was just a mist now but still cold. "Russ I hate to bother you but I just need to hear your voice. I love you. How are you love? How is the list going? I am waiting to speak with the Chupacabra again. Her name is Farah. I am investigating this issue. I think she is innocent.", I mind link him. "Can't talk honey buns I am in battle. Will return home tomorrow. I love you.", he linked back.

Wilson returns with Oranssi and Azul. I look at them all oddly. The little girl is in Azul's arms and behind them is a horrible beast in chains. The beast looks at me and flips his tongue at me. I just turn my head.

After they lock the beast safely away I talk to the girl. "Amani would you like to see your mom?", I softly speak to her. She shakes her head yes. "Your mom had some food, a bath and now she is sleeping. Would you want something to eat? or a bath? Some clean clothes? and you can even take a nap in the same room as your mom. Well if you want that is.", I turn my back so she can't shake her head.

"A-a-are you really a Princess" (I nod my head, still not looking at her.) Then you can help my mommy. My mommy is a great mom. She always loves me and takes good care of me. (She hangs her head) My daddy is very mean. He hits her and hides me to get her to do stuff.", the child speaks softly.

My heart is breaking for this family. "Your mommy and you are safe here. Let's start with a bath. I bet the girls have some things you can wear and they have a fun bathroom full of girl toys.", I reach for her hand. After her bath we go to the dining room and she has a meal with all 7 of the Martin-Elda kids. Watching her laugh and talk with the other kids feels really good.

"Amani let's go wake your mom.", I reach for her hand again. She looks so cute in the peach colored dress. It has an empire waist with pleats all the way around and a bow in the back with buttons down the back as well. She has long Black curls. Her eyes are a bright blue like her mommy. I can't see any of the features of the beast. All I see is the calm behavior of her mother.

She has a birth mark on her right arm. The mark is oval and brown. This mark is the mark of the 7th Sun Clan. Her mother has it too. I wonder if the mother knows what it means. This mark will provide protection to them both. I plan to help them find the 7th Sun Clan, but first let's get down to business.

"Farah, wake up please you have a very special guest.", I say cheerfully. Farah opens her eyes but starts rubbing them like she can't see well. I unlock her cell and Amani walks in. I leave the cell door open. Azul is watching so I decide to go out on a limb. Farah stretches like a cat. Then she holds her arms out for Amani. They both embrace each other and begin to cry.

I stand watching, listening to the mother and daughter. I need to know everything. I can help but only if I have all the information. No words were spoken for several minutes. Then suddenly Amani pulls away, "Mommy you have to tell the Princess. Please mommy! She can help us and she is really nice. I got to play with all the kids. They were so friendly and everyone is just so nice Mommy. I had a bath, a nap, food, and look mommy a real dress. They treat me good mommy. Please let them help you, let them help us mommy."

Farah looks up at me. She said, "So many have helped me keep Amani. From my Aunt who pretended to be me, to my family who have kept Amani from that beast. He...(She suddenly stopped talking, she looked at Amani)."

"Amani, could you go back upstairs with the children so I can talk to your mommy?", I asked her. After she is out of range I sit beside Farah, "Continue, please.", I request.

"He raped me and Amani is part of that. As soon as he got word about her he started trying to get visitation. I had no evidence other than her DNA. Even then it just means that we had sex. I wasn't willing, I was beaten and hospitalized for months. I wouldn't abort her. I wanted my daughter. Then one visit he took her. I finally tracked them down but he had made it look like I was killing people.", she looked up at me for help.

"That is the evidence we found. I have already sent the file to our King. My father in law is just and a very reasonable man. We are waiting for his judgment now. As far as the beast, rapist, murder, he will face death. By the way his name is Gaston. He is not actually a beast but a skin walker. He has been walking as a beast. The doctor says that Amani is just a Chupacabra. She isn't a skin walker at all. Some how her DNA isn't showing skin walker and the Chupacabra will start to show soon. You should start talking to her about both so she can know about her body. As soon as the King's decree comes in I will return to get you. I need to rest now.", I say.

"Clementine, babe, we have caught the top list and are working on the next 50. I'm sorry I was busy when you linked. Then I was with Pa when you linked him, I know that you have found the skin walker and proof he is the actual killer. I love you very much my Stubborn little sweetheart.", Russell links me.

"I love you too honey. Please return soon. I want to be with you. I hate being alone. I am resting now. We can talk soon.", I link him back
