Jason's Grind

Jason gazed at the horde of zombies that were slowly retreating from his monster grinder and sighed.

He could see the sun starting to rise and the sky already had a blue haze. The zombies, after he defeated the ghost started to appear more disorganized and didn't crowd and attack Jason as heavily as they did before. They still came to attack him though and Jason had leveled up multiple times already.

Jason walked over to the ditch and gathered the last few piles of loot from the pits. Jason hadn't checked the loot he had gotten over the last few hours yet. He wanted to save it for the big surprise even though he had a general idea of what the items were.

The sun started to show its appearance on the land and the zombie hoard completely disappeared into the darkness of the forest. Jason watched as they fled back in with an expression like he just lost somebody he loved.

Jason looked around and started to stow his metal spikes back into his inventory. Packing everything up was a pain. The metal spikes were the hardest part to take, they were dug deep into the earth, and with the thousands of zombies that fell and died on each one of the spikes, they only were implanted even deeper.

It took Jason a while but with his trusty plastic shovel, he was able to dig all of them along with some other bronze coins he missed when he first looked. It took 2 hours but everything was done. The sun had finally risen and the morning sky now finally showed its full glory.

[Congradualtions you are survived until morning!]

[You have completed the intelligence trial]

[+3 intelligence]

Jason blinked and before he knew it he was standing outside in the real game world. It was still the afternoon and it seems it was almost dinner as many of the rose knight trainees were rushing out of the trial in a hurry.

Honestly, if Jason could grind the monsters like that again, then he would be fine with skipping dinner. But he had an appointment with Ardem Marbletail, the silent green Barack member. Jason shivered at the remembrance of Ardem's training. He kinda didn't want to go, but he knew it would be even worse if he avoided it.

So he took the ever so familiar trip down the hill and to the cafeteria. While he was walking down he started to check his loot. A greedy smile lit up his face as he checked them.

He had earned about 90 gold from the countless bronze pieces that the zombies dropped. So currently Jason had a literal mountain of bronze coins. Jason started to fantasies about burying himself in the mountain of coins.

The next thing he got was a large amount of equipment. Unfortunately, they were all around the common or rare grade. But most of them were useful even though a few gave off creepy vibes.

The regular ones were like

[iron sword]

[rating:common]

[attack power: 10]

[defense: 8]

[special traits: 5% chance to inflict bleeding on target ]

[durability: 4/10]

[steel dagger]

[rating: rare]

[attack power:14]

[defense:4]

[special traits:10% chance to do corrosive damage]

[durability: 7/10]

[steel throwing axe]

[rating:rare]

[attack power: 18]

[defense:7]

[special traits: none]

[durability: 5/10]

Those were the normal ones and Jason had quite a large pile of those types of weapons. He had over 50 of those types of weapons. He had a few that were a bit different though.

[cursed flail of the undead]

[rating: rare]

[attack power: 25]

[defense 10]

[special traits: if the holder of the weapon is not undead, a curse shall be inflicted

if the holder is an undead then +20% damage]

Yeah, most of the weapons that he got from the zombies had something to do with undead, poison, and inflicting status effects like bleeding and dizziness.

Jason picked up his iron sword and compared the stats

[iron sword]

[rating: growth (common)]

[attack power: 10-15]

[defence: 8-10]

[special traits: none ]

[durability: infinite]

"Haaaa some of them are already better than my growth sword. He pulled out the steel throwing axe and looked at them both. But then suddenly an almost magnetic force pulled both of Jason's hands together. The axe and sword clashed into each other creating sparks.

A notification floated up to Jason

[your iron sword(common (growth)) can consume steel throwing axe (rare)]

[will you allow it to do so?]

[warning! in doing so, the item steel throwing axe (rare) will disappear forever]

[yes/no]

Jason started at the notification and shouted

"What!!!! when could they do this?????"

Boops who was silent most of the time also yelling in Jason's head in surprise

'waaaaaaa? why did I not know this?'

Jason said to Boops confused

"you didn't know?"

Boops replied in a confused voice

'yeah, I honestly had no clue'

Jason laughed and teased Boops

" haaa? aren't you supposed to be the almighty system?"

To which Boops replied grumpily

'hmph sorry to pop your bubble but I ain't all-powerful if that's what you're looking for,'

"haha yeah I know, I shouldn't think that you will provide everything for me"

Jason couldn't see Boops but he could tell that he was nodded his head contentedly.

'mhm that's right, I have taught you well'

Jason then turned his attention to the real thing that he was excited about. The skill books.

In total, he had 40 of them, they all had to do with dark type skills such as poisoning or sneaking around easily to turning all out invisible, they were all suited for assassination, which made Jason a bit sad since he currently didn't have many skills in that area.

He started to look over them

[skill book]

[skill: sneak]

[turns invisible for a brief period of time]

[cooldown: 5 min]

[period of time is determined by skill level]

[skill book]

[skill: poison blade]

[class restrictions: assasian]

[cooldown: 20 min]

[coats your weapon with a deadly poison at the cost of mana]

[skill book]

[skill: dagger throw]

[class restrictions: assasian]

[cooldown: 5 min]

[throws your dagger with higher precision and intensity]

[skill book]

[skill: undead control]

[class restrictions: necromancer]

[cooldown: 10 min]

[mana cost: 30]

[you can control undead, number of undead depends on level of skill]

[skill book]

[skill: poison making]

[class restrictions: rouge]

[cool down: none]

[you get more skilled at making poison and can create even deadlier ones]

Most of the books were beginners' skills. But they were all able to be used. The most important part though was that most of the skills had class restrictions, that Jason could ignore because of some system crap that he didn't bother to remember. All that he knew was that he could learn the skills regardless of the restriction and even get multiple classes.

Even though he had about 40 books, there were only 8 skills in total, the rest was just extra copy of the skill books.

Jason wasn't one to waste any opportunities and learned all of the skills possible immediately.

[you have learned the active skill sneak]

[you have learned the active skill poison blade]

[you have learned the active skill dagger throw]

[you have learned the active skill undead control]

[you have learned the passive skill poison making]

[you have learned the passive skill blade affinity]

[you have learned the passive skill hide]

[you have learned the passive/ active skill sprint]

Jason got a few more skills such as

[blade affinity: 23% damage with sword if sword is taken care of]

[cooldown: none]

[hide: it is harder for people to find, you when you want to hide]

[cooldown: none]

[Sprint level 2: [passive: your running speed is increased]

[Active skill: at the cost of 5 mana per min you can go even faster]

[cooldown: passive; none]

[active skill: 30 min]

Jason was satisfied and started to walk down the road. As he was checking over his skills one last time. A notification came up to him.

[Your subordinate Perseus has gained 30 new members and has earned rewards]

[You have gained a reward]

[Your subordinate has taken steps to solidify his guild! +10 points]

[Your subordinate Arjuna is learning a new class with high potential! +20 points]

Jason quickly asked Boops what was going on

"Boops an explanation would be great"

'heh, this is going to take a while, but first, I have a message from Perseus, "master, I need equipment and skill books pronto if I'm going to successfully take over bandit camps here"'

Jason grinned and Boops laughed and commented

'How convenient, right?'

Jason looked at the afternoon sun and started to briskly run down the trail. He needed to take out his excitement out. His grin was still on his face as he said to himself

"hehe it's all coming together"

Suddenly Jason had a thought.

"Wait, I don't have to give the stuff in reality right? that's going to be crazy expensive"
