Things were progressing smoothly.

I walked quickly through the castle’s corridors, followed by three or four guards. They were accompanying me to retrieve Prince Liam’s portraits and belongings on Louis’s orders. However, these items were useless in saving my son’s life. The only person who could save Chris now was someone else entirely.

“Ouch!” I exclaimed in pain, clutching my stomach and suddenly squatting down.

“What happened?!”
