1- Why am i here?

At the beggining of my carreer as a doctor my objetive was pretty clear, that my parents would stop complaining about me not choosing a real education path.

In retrospective being influenced by my parents was a terrible idea, don't get me wrong, spending 7 years learning about human anatomy so i can know what to do in case a random guy chooses that putting a shampoo bottle inside his body was a good idea

Was an entertaining time to be sure but the problem was me not beign able to deal with people.

See, There is something fun about me, im special, not love rainy days special, the i have powers since i was born special, i have the ability to absorve mater and elements and then use them again at will making all kind of structures and devices with it, that cost me an arm when i was a child, but lets forget abut that for now. a really useful tool for someone working in this field, but will become even more useful in the future.

In this society "normal" people dont treat you like a monster, mostly because people with powers are born almost daily, but there is a prejudice to our kind do to past incidents with certain people, also because most of the time the powers don't represent a real danger to society, and even if they do there is a goverment force to deal with them....

that sounds really grimm now that i put it that way huh

Anyway back to the matter at hand. most if not everyone in my life had either envy or really greedy intentions with me, no matter the age or time, so i really never got any friends, even at university.

Didn't matter to me at the moment but will actually hunt me on the future. a scientis with 0 human interaction, what a weird thing to see ain't it? ha ha.... yeah.

Anyway lets start this thing since... well this is why you are even reading this.

I was working in the ICU again, dealing with the shampoo guy for a third time when a sudden call came to my phone, weird, considering that i never gave my phone number to anyone, i just use it to watch some videos or play some games, i answered the call.

-Hello?

-Hello, who is this?

-Excuse our sudden communication ms cecile but we need your assistance in an important matter you see w-

-Ok hold on i have several questions, first of all how do you know my name and second who is "we" also i would love to remark HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!?!?!

I really shouldn't have screamed now that i remember that i am in a hospital

-Again excuse us ms cecile, my name is Adam Marco, leader of the research and containtment group for the high council, you may know us as division 7.

- Oh... oh wow eh excuse my annoyance but i did not expected to be contacted by goverment oficials. i uh am sorry for screaming at you mr Marco.

I walked away from the icu so i can take the call as its intended, also i really dont want to talk about this next to the shampoo guy

-So you were saying you guys needed me for something... why? im just a doctor, you guys need biologist and engineers as far as i know

Am i really being requested to work in one of the most feared divitions in the universe?, the one thats on charge of dealing with galaxy level threats?!.

This really made me feel sick i really can't take that level of responsability, i need to take this slow and deny his invitation politely

-I uh... am sorry but i really dont know if this will be a good desition, i- i know what kind of stuff you guys deal with, and i wouldn't feel safe being around that kind of place or people, so im afraid i need to say no to the invitation mr marco.

- Oh right i forgot to explain the job, excuse me, i've been having a rough day you know haha...so anyway, listen, you won't be dealing with that kind of job, we just need your ability to manipulate elements so you can design one especially made for us, now, let me assure you, you will never be in danger nor will you take risks, in fact im more concerned about you hurting the subject to be honest haha.

- But like isn't your job dealing with dangerous beings?

- Well yeah, mostly, but this one... this one is special, this subject is a girl, a really good one, again, not a danger to you. You can in fact even work along side her.

That is... weird never in my life have i heard the divition 7 dealing with a non violent galaxy treath, i mean if its non violent why even deal with it in the first place? this really seems odd, but then again they don't have a reason to lie to me, if they wanted me really hard they could have just kidnapped me. so asking nicely means they really mean me no harm.

-So about the job part..

-Oh yeah sorry, lets see, you'll be working in a special lab near the containtment cell, as much time as you need, you'll be provided with living expenses + thrice your salary so you can spend it in anything you want, health insurance, although i suppose you wont need to use it. along side transportation.

-Oh wow that... really sound good, too good in fact.

-Ms cecile let me assure you we can give you that and even more, we really need this one. So are you in? we can talk more bonuses if thats what you need.

-I... don't think that will be necesary, i accept, im in.

-Great! now you only need to tell us were you are and we can start even today, i'll send a car for you, also don't worry about your last job, we can deal with that, once you arrive here i'll provide you with more details.

I really, REALLY feel like i made a wrong move here, but that money sounds amazing, and i really want to see where this takes me, i really feel like my life needs a turn you know.
