YOU CAN'T FOOL ME!

LOIS' POV

I would be a big liar if I said I wasn't tired at the moment. We were all sitted in a large table at the wedding reception.

I was sitting next to Mom and Aunt Ashley from both my sides, while Oliver sat directly opposite. After the kiss at the church, he's been oddly quiet, not that he was talkactive on a normal day.

I frowned my face due to the ache I felt on my ankles. My foot were as sore as hell. How did I ever come across this Loboutins? God!!!

"Hey Lois, are you alright?" Aunt Ashley asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. It's just that my ankles ache alot"

"Oh? Sorry, You must be so stressed out" she said sympathetically.

I quickly caught a look on Harrieth's face that disappeared almost immediately. Was that a look of hurt I just saw? Was she jealous?

Though I really didn't expect Jake to bring that woman, Lisa as his date.

I mean, I thought Jake and Harrieth had some sought of heart strings. They looked so perfect together! I guess things are really not the way they seem to be.

"I really dislike that sly woman. I know she's just with my son for the benefits." Mom whispered to Aunt Ashley.

"I really thought Jake and my baby girl had something special going on" Aunt Ashley whispered back to Mom

"Exactly Ashley! And when you ask them, they are always like 'he's my very good friend' or 'she's just my friend mom' " Mom said mimicking Harrieth and Jake's voice. I really couldn't help but let out a low chuckle.

But seriously speaking, I'd always known that Lisa was just with my brother for the fame and fortune. To bad! Is my brother too blind to see?

I immediately felt a sharp sting on my feet. "Mom, Aunt Ashley, I would be right back. Let me go change into something much more comfortable"

"Okay Hun, be quick cuz I think it's about time for the your dance" Aunt Ashley rang out.

"Alright, I'll be quick" I replied walking out rather too quickly with a throbbing foot.

I was already back to the reception hall, but something or rather someone I saw spontaneously changed my demeanor. What was Eva doing here?

You invited her you sissy

My subconscious mocked.

Of course I did, a very great mistake I admit. I walked directly to our table and just sat down with a void Expression. I felt really stupid. More like useless.

Eva was sitting next to Oliver, which had me thinking where Justin could be, because he was sitting next to Oliver just before I left to go change.

I noticed Dad whispering something to Uncle Jonathan as he looked at Harrieth and pointed towards Jake and Lisa. Don't tell me Dad also notice the Harrieth- Jake strings.

"I really can't believe this children. One minute Jake is with Sly Lisa, and the next minute Oliver is with that Woman I detest so much" Aunt Ashley barked whilst eyeing Eva.

I really have to admit that Eva had always been so good looking right from high school. She practically had so many (not all) the guys at her feet. And she looked completely stunning in her white dress today, I hate to say.

"Come on Lois! Go sit by your husband" Aunt Ashley yelled in a low voice rather too upset.

"Aunt, it's okay. Just let them be. I really don't have a problem with it" I shrugged my shoulders.

"Look my dear, I understand the fact that you don't have a problem with them because you don't feel anything for Oliver. But if you carry on this way, that sly woman would take you for granted and see it as a chance to break your marriage"

"Alright Aunt. Let's just let the 'sly ones' be for today. Trust me, Eva knows better than to step on my toes" I grinned to which Aunt Ashley reciprocated with a more wider grin.

It's really funny to admit, but Aunt Ashley is a very mischievous woman. And I love that about her so much. Her kind was very rare.

"Hmmmm, partners in crime I see" Mom smirked. "Though I agree with your Aunt, baby. You need to make your position very clear when it comes to Oliver and that woman" Mom added

"I just can't believe that she actually has the guts to come back into my son's life after the terrible heartbreak she caused him. I wonder how she can look at him in the face without feeling so dirty about what she did. How did Oliver even fall in love with someone like her?"

Aunt said clasping her hands together. A behavior I have noticed over the years, when she tries to overcome anger.

"The same question I have asked myself for the past ten years, Aunt. Probably because she's so good looking"

"The same question I have asked myself for the past four years dear. Why God gave beauty to such an aimless airhead"

"Oh my God Aunt. Aimless airhead?"

I asked trying my best to stiffle my laughter. I couldn't help it anymore when Aunt and Mom burst into a fit of laughter and I quickly joined in.

The funny aspect of it all was when Harrieth joined in the laughing galore. So she was listening all along.

When she joined in, we all automatically stopped laughing and looked at her like she was maleficent with white horns.

It was when Mom said "What dah!! Harrieth?" Thats the moment we burst into the real deal of laughter.

Now everyone in the reception was looking at us. I'm not suprised, we laugh a bit too loudly. I used my palm to dab the tears in my eyes due to the laughter.

Slowly the laughter died down. Then Aunt Ashley was like : "Christ! My belly hurts" And every single person in the hall burst out laughing, well except the 'Sly ones'.

When the wonderful chaos had died down, Uncle Jonathan asked

"What exactly was so funny?"

"You can ask your wife here" Mom replied dabbing her eyes.

"Oh! Ashley? She's been my wife for 31 years and I know what she can do." He giggled. "I mean, who tells her son to go shift a dog's bone as punishment?" Everyone on the table gave a roar of laughter expect for the 'sly ones' as usual. Justin glared.

"Justin my baby boy, Mommy loves you very much" Aunt Ashley cooed trying to pacify him.

"And look at me thinking who amongst you was that particular son. I'm not suprised it's Justin" I chuckled.

"What exactly did he do?" Dad asked amused

"He cut my damn Lily" Aunt Ashley replied.

"Oh! the lily" I stated calmly, feeling guilty as I recalled the incident.

"Yes the Lily" Mom said looking at me accussingly, as I pouted.

"Anything I do!... I do it for you" Justin sang to me while holding his chest, making me blush and smile. Everyone laughed. 'sly ones' noted.

I could also feel Oliver's stares boring holes in my head. It's like he was the least bit interested in whatever Eva was chattering about. He looked so bored. Poor guy.

"Go sing a romantic song to that girlfriend of yours. Bianca Or what's her name?" Aunt Ashley said rather to boringly. "I wonder why my sons always have the wrong women around them. That except Matt"

She said looking directly at Eva who just rolled her eyes and Aunt Ashley rolled hers also. Oliver just sighed lightly, but it was noticeable.

"Come on Mom, Bianca is cool" Justin feigned hurt.

"Exactly, you need someone hot!"

Harrieth said as she gulped down another flute of champagne.

"Just shut it Harrieth" Justin cried out as Aunt Ashley smirked.

"Smoking hot!" she teased again as she licked her lips rather too seductively. I have a feeling she's drunk already. "We've really come a long way together. Don't you guys think so!?"

Harrieth yelled a little too loudly which got Mom and Aunt Ashley observing her in a very funny manner. 'yeah, yeah' came everyone's sincere reply.

"Are you drunk silly?" Mom asked Harrieth.

"Noooo, Aunt. Of course not"she denied outrightly. Of course she would. A drunk person always thinks otherwise.

"Erm... Lois it's time for your dance with Oliver" Mom said.

"Riiiight!!" I replied nervously. Why was I nervous!!? I could see Oliver from my side view. He was smirking as I stood up. Idiot

"Wait a minute Lois" Eva stood from her seat and walked up to me. She smiled, and then I knew there was definitely something under her sleeves.

"Can I help you?" I folded my arms under my breasts

"shhhh!" she whispered. "Lower your voice. I'm sure you don't want everyone knowing that they attended a loveless marriage"

"Excuse me?"

"Stop the act, pro. I know its all all an arranged marriage. Oliver doesn't love you"

Boom! How the hell does she know?

"I just knew Olly couldn't move on without me" She smiled vilely, checking her nails. "You can't Fool me"

I was pretty sure Aunt Ashley had a clue of what was going on as she looked like she was about to burst out any minute.

I shook my head slightly, which was not so clear, but I was convinced that she noticed, because she nodded her head in return.

From my side view, I could see everyone at the table was quiet and just waiting for a smash. I'm sure Eva expected me to break down and sob or become tongue tied. But I definitely wouldn't give her the satisfaction.

"So?" I shrugged. she looked taken aback by my response

"It happens everywhere. I mean, Arranged marriages. There's nothing so different about mine"

I made a stoical face

"And I noticed earlier that 'MY HUSBAND' wasn't interested in whatever you were saying to him. What a pity" I feigned a sad face. "Spoiler Alert: HE DOESN'T GIVE A. FUCK. ABOUT. YOU. Well, not anymore" I chuckled checking my nails this time.

I danced in my head seeing her so Tongue tied and angry, as I walked towards Oliver's side.

"Come on Olly, let's go dance" I emphasized swaying my hips rythymically, which he surprisingly chuckled to, as every other person In the table.

'Olly' Eva calls him that.
