Can't a father go out with his family again without something ruining it? I would have been happy if it had been just traffic causing the issue, but no, it had to be something much more outrageous – the apocalypse. Imagine what was supposed to be a family outing turning into a fight for survival against zombies in an instant. It doesn't change much, though. I'm still trying to be the best husband and father I can be, and the apocalypse ain't changing that!
Leo POV)
The reason I could only see through the car's window was that my saviour had to talk to someone in the car about my visit to see my daughter.
I overheard him explaining certain things to the person inside, whom I assumed was his daughter, as he mentioned leaving my daughter with his.
Despite my eagerness to see my daughter, I forced myself to remain calm.
From my saviour's words, it was evident he was trying to make the person in the car aware of my presence before I made an appearance.
I could guess his rationale, as it seemed more considerate for someone to be prepared for the arrival of an unfamiliar person rather than suddenly encountering a stranger gazing at them through the window.
The mere thought of that scenario was unsettling.
After my saviour finished conveying his message to the person in the car, he stepped aside and gestured for me to occupy the spot he had just vacated, a cue I promptly followed.
