After the situation with the army passed, David returned with Leo back to Malachi's location to assist in gathering the crystal hearts scattered on the ground.

Even with a workforce of three men, it still took a while for them to be done with gathering all the crystal hearts before it finally got dark.

Gathering the crystal hearts from the fallen monsters wasn't the only thing that Malachi, Leo, and David did.

Because Malachi felt odd about leaving the bones of the skeleton monsters scattered around like that, and his companions shared the same sentiment, they did something about it.

It was nothing too grand. All Malachi, Leo, and David did to the bones was gather all of them to an open space in the middle of the road, and after pouring a little fuel on them, Leo lit them up in flames.
