Can't a father go out with his family again without something ruining it? I would have been happy if it had been just traffic causing the issue, but no, it had to be something much more outrageous – the apocalypse. Imagine what was supposed to be a family outing turning into a fight for survival against zombies in an instant. It doesn't change much, though. I'm still trying to be the best husband and father I can be, and the apocalypse ain't changing that!
"It's morning already?" Malachi muttered with half-sleepy eyes. He yawned and then gave his body a little stretch.
After doing all this, Malachi turned to look at his side where his wife was supposed to be but was immediately shocked awake by what he saw.
He saw nothing, or more accurately, Malachi saw no one.
Anna was not in the car.
Realising this, Malachi's heart shook as his expression darkened. In that second, various thoughts flashed through his head when he heard movements in the car and turned to look at the back seat to be met with David's red irises.
That wasn't the only thing. Mia was also not in the back seat.
Had he woken up in a different situation, Malachi would have wondered why David had his ability activated in the car due to his red irises that signified so, but the thought did not come to him as his mind was occupied with where his wife and daughter were.
