Back to the village.

That night, Tendo was standing atop of a tree not far from Tazuna's house. He had his byakugan activated as he was looking in the direction of Gatou's headquarters. His objective was to spot how many guards were present at the base before infiltrating it.

Tendo: "Three, seven, alright, there are about twelve guards present at the base. Incapacitating them shouldn't be hard as most of them are high genin level rogues. This shouldn't take too long. Kakashi's probably watching but it doesn't matter, the most he'll offer is some words of 'guidance'."

Tendo flickered away from the spot, leaving nothing but the leaves blowing in the wind at his departure.

Kakashi: "Sigh. What a handful."

Kakashi stood on a bridge and looked out at Tendo's fleeting figure as he thought about what had happened earlier today. Kakashi thought maybe the boy needed someone in his life to give him a brighter outlook on things as he remembered that Tendo didn't have any parents growing up. Not long after, he decided to get up and follow him just to make sure he doesn't do anything too rash. Also, he needed to protect him just in case he gets ambushed along the way by ninjas from other villages.

About thirty minutes later, Tendo arrived atop a tree that was bordering the fences of the headquarters and took note of the positions of the guards. As he was going to the strike the first two at the gate, a figure landed next to him and grabbed onto his shoulder.

Kakashi: "Don't kill them, just knock them out and do what you will. These men aren't trying to fight you so there's no need for you to go that far."

Tendo: "That's not how I do things, Kakashi."

Kakashi: "Tendo, if you continue to go down this path of ruthlessness and slaughter, there might not be a chance to return to the light in the future."

Pausing for a bit, Tendo looked at Kakashi and then back at the guards. He looked like he was thinking about something as his eyes showed a bit of regret and want for once.

Tendo: "Light and darkness huh? Things are not that simple, Kakashi. It's a lot deeper than just me being in darkness. But, I don't mind not killing them, just don't let them stop me from what I'm going to do."

Kakashi was going to stop him but he disappeared quickly, knocking out the two guards by the gate. He activated his byakugan and kept his guard up as he continued knocking out each guard silently. He could see through walls but the world of shinobi is a large place, techniques are out there that can get past his visual prowess. The last guard was standing by Gatou's vault and he looked slightly stronger than the rest but he was knocked out as easy as them too.

His vault door was made of metal and multiple traps were set up in front of them as a second security measure just in case his guards had failed.

Tendo: 'It's a good thing I took gatou's memories as it saved me a lot of time. I don't think I can break metal with my current strength.'

After a while of defusing traps, Tendo undid the seal on the vault, pushing the door open. He found five sealing scrolls sitting on a lone table in the middle of the vault. Four of them were filled with hundreds of thousands of Ryo each and one of them was empty. Tendo took the empty scroll and sealed the rest inside of it, leaving the room as silently as he came.

As he got back outside and landed beside Kakashi who was leaning on a tree and reading. Kakashi saw the scroll in his hands and already knew what had happened.

Kakashi: "You know Tendo, stealing from a criminal doesn't make you any less bad."

Tendo: "I never said I was, nor did I pretend I am. This money can be put to better use in my hands."

Kakashi: "Why not leave it for the pe-"

Tendo: "No need. Let's go."

Kakashi shook his head and sighed as he followed Tendo back to the house. He had decided to report what Tendo did on this mission to Anko and the Hokage when he got back as disciplining him outside of the basic shinobi ways was out of his authority.

The next day, the five shinobi left the village and not too long after, the land of waves.

[A while later.]

The gates of the Leaf Village came into view as the group walking along the pathway towards it. On this trip, Kakashi had started to think about a few things that he didn't consider before. He wondered why the arrogant Hyuga clan or the eerily quiet Senju clan didn't try to take Tendo in yet. Especially the Hyuga since Tendo had awakened the Byakugan and he was the great-grandson of the Second Hokage, Tobirama. Something had to be going on between them for even the Hokage to not mention something about it.

As they entered the village, they went straight to turn in their mission and collect their reward. Tendo collected it and immediately returned to the orphanage. He knew Anko would hear about him returning soon and would come to find him so he didn't report to her.

In the Hokage's office, Kakashi and Anko were standing there inside with Hiruzen and two other important figures.

Hiruzen: "Kakashi, Anko, you know these people right? This is Hiashi Hyuga and this is an envoy from the Senju Clan. They came here to talk about Tendo Hyuga. I'm sure you two can figure out why right?"
