Mack picked her up, scratching behind her ears. “So, as I was saying, way back when, you and Tone have a lot in common, Guy.”
Guy chortled. “Like five minutes ago.”
“Why do I have the feeling I’m out of the loop?” Dani eyed her three companions.
“Seems like Guy and Tone have decided they might want to be more than friends.” Mack winked at them.
“What? Lovers can’t be friends, too?”
“We’re not even close to that,” Guy protested. “We’re, well…” He shot a ‘help me’ look at Tone.
“Exploring our options?”
“Yeah, that.”
Dani rolled her eyes. “If you say so. Right now, how ‘bout we all get some sleep beforethe sun comes up and the dog-walkers’ dogs find us.”
The guys agreed that was a good idea, and they returned to their spot in the trees. Guy had just lain down, with Ghost in her usual spot on his chest, when he felt someone snuggle next to him—and it wasn’t Shadow.
“Do you mind?” Tone whispered, his breath tickling Guy’s ear.
