Chapter2- The New Boy

"Rena! Wake up! It's time for school soon!" Shouted a voice from downstairs

"Mmmmuuhhhh" grumbled Rena as she pulled herself out of the bed. She glanced at the alarm clock and say that she had an hour to get ready and headed down the steps to the kitchen for breakfast.

When she walked into the kitchen she saw her mom with a plate of chocolate chip pan lakes and a plate of bacon waiting for her.

Her mother set the plate down before her and Rena looked hungrily at it.

She picked up her fork and started shoveling food into her mouth.

She glanced up at her mom and say a disapproving look in her eyes.

She quickly finished chewing, swallowed and thanked her mom for the food and began eating again but this time much slower as to not upset her mother.

"You know how much I hate it when you eat that fast! You could choke on your food! You eat your food so fast that there is not way you could possibly even taste it!" Said her mother

"Yea yea I know" replied Rena

When she finished her breakfast she washed it all down with some freshly squeezed orange juice that her mother had made for her just that morning by picking the oranges of the orange tree in their garden and cut them and squeezed the juice into a cup for her.

Rena headed upstairs and back to her room to change and get ready for the first day of school.

She picked a army green romper and and put her hair into a dancers bun with a pretty little yellow ribbon tied into a bow around it. She washed her face, put in some pretty pearl earrings and grabbed her backpack.

She made sure she had all the homework that she completed last night (with her aunts help) was in there and that all her books for each class were still there as well.

After tracking down her history book and algebra homework she waved goodbye to her mom and was out the door, and walking to the bus stop.

*skreeeeecchhhhh* the floater went when it braked to let the school kids on.

"Good morning, good morning, morning, good morning." The bus driver each time a new floater went up the floaters steps, even if everybody ignored him, he would always say good morning to each time a new student boarded.

Rena smiled and decided to rely this time with a simple "good morning sir" and when she did the bus driver smiled back and tipped his hat in her direction, thankful that somebody had replied to him that morning, even if she would be the only one that did so that day.

Rena plopped down onto a empty seat around the middle of the bus and and pulled out her phone and headphones to listen to some music in the way to school.

About halfway through the bus ride Rena felt a tap on her shoulder, she looked up to see a cute boy, about her age, with brown hair and eyes to match.

She realized her was already talking so she pulled one of her earbuds.

"-Here" the boy said

"What? I'm sorry, I had earbuds in and didn't hear wheat you were saying."

"Oh, I said can I sit here?"

"Sure" Rena said with a shrug

The boy sighed and sat down.

Rena didn't recognize him so she asked "are you new here?

"Yes!" He replied, happy to have somebody to talk to. "Where are you from?" Rena asked

"I'm from the sun!" He replied

"The sun? Why'd you leave the sun to come to this lousy little town?" Questioned Rena curiously

"Well... I was asked to live here for a few months by my parents beachside my mom wanted me to 'experience the real world' instead of living in the c- ....I mean instead of living where I usually do, I don't get much social interaction with people my age because I almost never leave my house. I'm basically a prisoner of my own home!" He said with a laugh.

Rena, slightly confused on why he had hesitated so much while answering her question but she just shook her head and smiled.

"Well that's no fun! I'll make sure you have a fun time for your couple of months here!" She said happily

"Really? That would be amazing!" Said the boy happily

When they got to school they got off the floater and walked into the school together.

"Have you gotten your schedule yet? Locker comb maybe?" Asked Rena

"Nope, I haven't gotten either." He replied

"Well then I'm sure that the people working in the office would know your schedule and locked comb too so I'll take you there."

"Ok" said the new boy

Rena suddenly remembered "Oh right! I never did catch your name! What is it?"

The boy responded saying, " oh my name? It's -"
