Waking Up + Classes

Michael awoke in a large grey room, in a typical medical bed with gray sheets and a white pillow under his head. He was surrounded by other medical beds with fellow examines locked and laid on them. He even Druxia and Lyn with various slash marks scattered across their bodies, and they like the rest were knocked out. Getting up he felt an ache near his stomach and looked down to see that almost his entire body was bandaged up.

Grunting a bit, he slowly got up and saw that he was still wearing his now torn clothes, with his worn-out sword near the bed. Grabbing his sword, he approached one of the nearby clerics and saw that it was a cleric of Gaea, who wore green robes, with a sunflower pattern scattered across them. He could easily see that they were a short black ant and somehow he could tell they had kind eyes.

"Excuse me, I don't know if you know about their current condition but are the examines Lyn and Druxia alright?"

The cleric looked at him, a bit confused but shrugged it off and went over to a nearby clipboard, with a chart attached to it. They looked through, and immediately spotted both of those names and came back over. They spoke in a normal, clicky voice with a confused tone as well.

"Yes, they should wake up, and recover soon but usually those that wake up wondering how they did on the exam."

"But I suppose that's a nice change of pace, but if you want I can look up your name and see if you passed or not?"

Michael looked over at Lyn and Druxia and smiled knowing that they didn't suffer any permanent damage.

"Yes, my name is Michael and I was probably the second person to get knocked out by that extremely strong Jester."

The cleric laughed upon hearing that and went back to the wall the medical clipboard was hanging from and grabbed a separate one next to it. It was made using blackwood and had various runes in a circle on the back. they wrote something on it, and a blue glow emitted from it almost immediately.

"Well here's some good news, you did indeed pass and the bad news is that if you wanted to know if your friends passed or not, I'm afraid I cannot tell you that until they wake up."

Michael sighed and went back to his bed, sitting down with a smile on his face as he waited for his friends to wake up. Slowly as the next hour passed, more people started waking up some having passed began cheering for themselves. The ones that didn't pass sulked and exited the room, against the cleric's opinion, and Michael could only guess they would continue to sulk for a very long time.

Eventually, both Lyn and Druxa woke up, and Michael eagerly greeted them happy to see his friends finally awake. They almost hugged each other in excitement, but each of them groan in pain as they felt their body react negatively to the action. It was Lyn who went over to the cleric first, and they check through the clipboard.

"Congratulations Lyn you passed and if you want the director of the academy has recommended you take a mix of the paladin and warrior courses if you wish."

She sat down and began thinking about it, going through the pros and cons of saying yes. Then she smiled and eccentrically nodded yes to the cleric's questions. Still smiling the cleric took out a special pencil and wrote down yes on the clipboard.

Next was Druxia, who got up and grabbed the shape half of his broken spear, which was somehow still sharp. He told the cleric his name and they check the clipboard once more.

"Seems like your really lucky Micahel as both your friends passed, and even he was a special recommendation not from the directory but from the warrior department's spear specialist Dryxa."

"He says and I quote "After the first day is finished, meet me in the courtyard and I'll tell you my personal offer." alongside a recommendation to take primarily warrior classes with a small mix of mana classes as well."

"Put me down for yes, and also is there gonna be a map given out on the first day because I'm probably gonna get lost immediately."

The cleric nodded yes, and both Lyn and Druxia sat down excited about the fact they got accepted and the fact they got personal recommendations for classes, and from important people no less. Michael approached the cleric once more, with a somewhat nervous expression on his face.

"I have a quick question, does everyone get class recommendations or just the ones who really impress the exam instructors?"

The cleric fumbled for the clipboard, with an uneasy expression on their face, and looked at Michael while they wrote something down.

"Actually everyone that passes gets a recommendation for class choices, I must've forgotten to tell you, your recommended classes."

Looking at the paper, the cleric once smiling face was replaced by a shocked one, and they read it over and over again. Michael could easily tell they were confused by something and lightly tapped their shoulder.

Surprised they stumbled back a bit, trying their best not to trip onto the floor or nearby bed. Regaining their composure, they dusted themselves off and looked at Michael.

"Well this is a bit odd, but the final exam instructor recommends that you take sword technique class, the footwork class taught by him, and then mostly mage classes."

Hearing that Michael was a bit confused after hearing her explanation.

"I can see how the footwork class is a bit odd, but the other classes sound like normal recommendations to me so why are you so surprised?"

Hearing that the cleric sighed and ranged the clipboard up, and put the pen on a nearby table.

"I suppose the magic classes aren't anything new, and while yes the sword classes are a bit uncommon it's no cause for concern."

"But the footwork class is something truly extraordinary, and while I have seen it before, even then it was only for one person."

Before explaining anything else the cleric stopped and looked at Michael dead in the eye.

"Anything other than that basic information you'll have to discover for yourself if you take his class, I personally recommend yes but it's up to you."

Hearing that Micahel smiled and a brief flash of his fight with the Jester flashed through his mind.

"Of course, I'll say yes, I'd be a fool not to!"

Outside the room, hiding in the shadows was the same Jester from eh exam. This time he was wearing all-black cloths with a black mask that had a single white eye on it. He began laughing, and disappeared once he heard Michaels answer.
