Chapter 4. Forgetting All About Him

Tammy was taken aback. She could not believe that the person confessing her feelings in front of her was her best friend. Megan was a person who rarely displayed her vulnerability. She always maintained her composure, even in trying circumstances. She couldn't recall the last time she had witnessed Megan shedding tears. Tammy tried her best to soothe Megan. She used a tissue to clean her face.

Tammy gently remarked, "I'm here if you'd like to talk about it, but it's okay if you wouldn't like to."

Tammy was taken aback when Megan said, "I made my way to the Bar. I was sad when I left William's apartment."

Tammy nod. Megan had always refused Tammy's pleas to accompany her to the bar.

"I went with the idea of getting drunk but I ended up drinking only 4 shots before I was interrupted. He looked incredibly attractive but had the worst attitude on earth, and I feel so foolish because he used me."

"Within the first few minutes we spoke, I kind of felt attached to him. His voice sent thrills down my spine and the way he said my name made butterflies appear in my stomach. I felt a spark of electricity pass through me when his skin first made touch with mine. I know this is insane but honestly, that's what I felt. I felt with him all that I never felt for William. One thing led to another and we ended up in his suit and I had the greatest time of my life," she said.

"He was very loving, he made love to me, and we found it difficult to keep our hands off each other and he showed me other positions. He vowed to make the night unforgettable for us and he did."

A tear ran down Megan's cheek, and Tammy stroked it away with her thumb.

"He behaved so coldly this morning that I wondered if he was the same guy who made passionate love to me last night. It turns out that the person I gave my virginity to is just a jackass who only wanted me for pleasure."

Tammy listened closely to everything her closest friend said.

"I never once have felt more embarrassed in my life," she added.

"What made me even more enraged was that he placed some cash on the table stating he was paying for my services, he even accused me of being a thief."

Tammy was aware of the particular qualities of the man Megan was referring to. Not even William had she heard Megan express her affection for a man in that way.

Tammy inquired, already planning a murderous scheme, "Did he tell you his name?"

Megan wiped her tears with the back of her hand and nodded. "Timothy White."

Tammy seemed as if she had just seen a ghost when she said.

"As in the same Timothy White?"

"I'm not sure which Timothy White you're referring to, but I believe there is more than one person in this world with that name," Megan remarked with a sorrowful heart.

On Megan's nightstand, Tammy picked up her phone and handed her a picture.

She swallowed painfully and asked, "Is he the one?" She then nodded.

"This bastard!!!! I'm going to slaughter him for messing up with my best friend."

"There's no need to harm anyone, Tammy."

"Timothy has to learn a lesson," Tammy yelled angrily.

"He's so cruel, and arrogant, and thinks like he's on top of the world, and he's a snob, and he's all the worst things you can possibly think of. I feel so ashamed that I'm related to that bastard."

Megan gave her a perplexed expression.

"Timothy White is regarded as the third richest bachelor in all of New York, making him one of the wealthiest bachelors in the city." Tammy scowled.

"He must be accustomed to girls chasing after him, so it makes sense that he was astonished when I asked him for his name," Megan added.

"Yes, and that is why he doesn't respect us. Timothy is my cousin, not that I'm actually proud of, and we don't even act like cousins since we hate each other. But I'll make sure I will kick off his balls next time I see him. Thank God you're a lawyer, an excellent one. You'll defend me if he takes me to court."

"Please refrain from causing any trouble, Tammy. All I want now is to move on and forget about him. I don't desire anything to bring us back together."

"Did you two use a protection?"

Megan pondered Tammy's question for a moment. She forcefully stroked her already messy hair with her fingers.

"I'll head to the pharmacy tomorrow to buy an after-pill. I simply wish to forget everything that concerns him and move on. I don't want to cross paths with him again. He was a mistake that shouldn't have happened. I have a career that requires me, and I'm over with men."

Tammy pointed to the hickeys on Megan's neck and said, "I never realized Timothy could be this obsessive. Does it hurt?"

"Not really anymore."

"I made supper. Let's eat, then we'll watch a movie after."

"I'm not hungry", said Megan.

Tammy said to herself, "I promise I'm going to strangle Timothy with my bare hands the next time I see him."

Megan loved eating. She had never declined Tammy's cooking, particularly her favorite pasta. She undoubtedly felt this way because of Timothy. She grasped Megan's hands.

"You should forgive yourself, babe. I don't want you to get ill or depressed over that jerk. Trust me, he's not worth it."

"Even though I try, I can't. The events of last night are not anything I regret, however, this morning I regret it. He said and did things that deeply affected me. No matter how hard I try, I can't help but despise myself more. I made sure I hurled insults at him, slapped him, and threw one of my heels at him. I think it hit him in the face."

"He deserved everything you did to him. Don't blame yourself for what happened. The food is ready, and after that, we will stroll for a walk to get some dessert and then come back to watch our movie. Please don't say no." Tammy begged.
