Chapter 12: The Prodigy of the Asura Clan

As Murong Lingyun made his descent, the spectators' anticipation reached its zenith. The atmosphere had become fraught with intrigue. Although outwardly calm, internally he was a mess of chaos.

High above, Wang Chu and his disciples remained composed as whispers spread throughout the crowd. Their actions had not gone unnoticed by those with power and standing.

Among the onlookers stood an arrogant prince known for his contempt towards all that surrounds him. He took some amusement in watching what unfolded before him, his entourage whispering sweet nothings in his ear to keep their master happy.

The prince sneered down at Wang Chu and company: "Who are you?" His voice was filled with condescension and arrogance.

Wang Chu stared back at the prince with a cold gaze: "We wish to test our strength." His voice carried weight, demanding attention

The prince laughed in response: "Against Murong Lingyun? Do you think I'm stupid?" As if it were all just a joke shared between friends.

Su Chen stood by Wang Chu's side like a statue as Xiao Chi fumed with anger: "We're not joking!"

Wang Chu placed a hand on Xiao Chi's shoulder to quiet him down before saying: "We have our reasons." Everyone's eyes pierced through Murong Lingyun. This sudden turn of events caught him completely off guard and broke the confidence he had just gained from accepting this fight. It is true that he doesn't take fights seriously unless they're tests against younger generations from stronger empires but only people close to him know about it. Also when he does these fights he wear masks and use nicknames so that no one knows who he is in case someone gets mad at him for beating them or something along those lines.

He knew that accepting this fight came with its own risks but after weighing everything out, there were far more gains than losses for Lingyun himself. And now that people know about his special ability called "Chrono Visionary Sight," he wonders how this will play out.

The prince couldn't help himself and laughed once more: "Reasons? How dare you speak of reasoning in front of Murong Lingyun?" His followers nodded along with their master's words.

Old Ji could see it all unfolding before him: "Words can cut deeper than swords." He murmured to Wang Chu as he looked towards the prince's contingent.

All it would take is one small spark for everything to go up in flames here. Murong Lingyun noticed this and told his cousin, the prince, that they need to bring their fathers here just in case anything goes down.

At first, the Prince was taken aback by his cousin's sudden intensity but soon enough it registered in his mind what Lingyun meant. The two of them have always had a deep respect for one another - even when things got heated between them - so the Prince didn't hesitate to do as he said. With a nod and a low command, the prince gave the order. He wanted their fathers to know exactly what they were getting into.

Murong Lingyun and Su Chen stood in their respective corners of the ring, their determination clear even amidst the tension. The air was thick with conflicting wills and hidden goals, all waiting for someone to make their move.

Wang Chu's expression was calm as ever, peering at the prince from under his bushy brows. His disciples were just as composed, but their martial force simmered just beneath the surface.

The prince stared at them smugly. "Let's go," he said.

With a nod from Wang Chu, Su Chen broke free of his immobility with an explosive surge forward. Asura technique: Shadow Stomp! The shadow of Su Chen sprinted towards Murong Lingyun in an instant, intent on taking him out in one fell swoop.

Murong Lingyun's eyes narrowed with focus as he prepared for impact.

Just when it seemed like Su Chen's shadow was about to hit its mark… Su Chen teleported away from his original position and reappeared beside Murong Lingyun in another burst of motion — a blur so quick that it left behind afterimages on the ground. He swung his knife down at Murong Lingyun's skull without hesitation or mercy.

Murong Lingyun smoothly maneuvered around it with a counterstrike of his own. Their blades met in mid-air with a resounding clash that echoed through the arena.

Everyone watched breathlessly as they continued to fight. Their attacks came rapidly one after another like moves in an elegant dance — each strike measured and forceful yet conducted with grace not unlike ballet.

Su Chen attacked relentlessly while Murong Lingyun fought back more calculatedly — every move worth twice its weight in damage points.

But though he was strategic enough for two fighters, that didn't seem to faze Su Chen. He pressed forward without hesitation, every step and swing a testament to the Asura Clan's ferocious reputation.

It was clear to everyone watching that this fight wasn't just about raw power. Both fighters were showcasing their full mastery of martial arts that had been honed through years of practice. The way they weaved around each other almost seemed choreographed, and though no one would ever accuse them of working together, they somehow managed to bring out the best in one another.

Old Ji watched with a critical eye from his spot on the sidelines. He was aware that both techniques were exceptional, crafted with care to maximize damage while minimizing risk.

The whole arena shook under the vibration of clashing blades and powerful qi — it felt like witnessing two trains heading towards each other at full speed. It was plain to see how an outcome here could change everything in its wake: Their reputations, their legacies… Even the balance of power within the empire itself could be shifted depending on who walked out from this round alive.

Everyone except Wang Chu and Old Ji that Su Chen is a like a cat playing with its food, although its seems that the battle is balance. They can tell that Su Chen is not even using 10 percent of his strength.

Old Ji's gaze was sharp as he watched Su Chen move, like a predator stalking its prey. "He's got something up his sleeve," he muttered to Wang Chu.

Murong Lingyun's movements were precise and careful, each attack soaked in hidden potential. It was clear that he had been fighting with people a lot stronger than him.

His opponent, however, fought with an almost reckless abandon. Each strike landed just where it should have; every feint perfectly executed. There was no denying that there was something about this guy that is different that most of his encounters.

Murong Lingyun's heavenly eyes can't keep up from the barrage of attacks, even if he can predict where is the next attack landed. His body and senses can't keep up with it.

Su Chen's relentless attacks continued to attack in an orderly way, even though he did not use much energy. This has forced Murong Lingyun to defend himself time and time again.

Old Ji dug into his eyes as if he could see through many things. "He is dragging it," he said slowly to Wang Chu.

Murong Lingyun's experience turned into defending against Su Chen's storm-like attacks, every move was extremely powerful. However, under Su Chen's unrelenting offensive pressure, this caused him only a moment to breathe.

As the intensity of the battle increased, Su Chen was not affected by it at all. He said in a deep voice: "Its time to end this!"

With a light wave of his hand, there was a sudden sound of breaking wind in the arena. It was Su Chen's trump card —— Katana Shower technique! His Sura Katana flew high with energy and then fell violently on Murong Lingyun's head.

With a "buzz", countless blades and large amounts of qi burst out from behind Su Chen and hit down like a waterfall! The spectators who watched the game were all shocked by this amazing sight that had never been seen before. Murong Lingyun had no choice but to evade again and again for his life under such fierce attack while others watched him closely.

Although Murong Lingyun tried his best to stop Katana Shower with his own magic soldiers, the power of each blow is too strong! After just ten seconds after the storm came, blood dripped from Lingyun's clothes.

This scene made everyone stunned! Countless murmurs can be heard from the crowd.

Old Ji looked at Wang Chu beside him and blinked without any changed in moods. Although he was against Wang Chu accepting Su Chen as a disciple at first as it tarnish their reputation and history as member of Asura Clan. He also noticed that Wang Chu was not an ordinary man, not only he identified Su Chen's physique that troubled their clan, he even know about the limit of cultivation in the upper realm. He want's to see what kind of reaction this guy when he see the signature move of their Clan, as expected it is still calm and serine. He came to a conclusion that this guy might have seen this technique already and is probably not born in this lower realm.

The younger generation who have always seen Murong Lingyun invincible are even more shocked, and the prince's eyes also showed shock.

Wang Chu tilted his head and looked at Murong Lingyun's and he noticed someone released a silent killing intent earlier.

Seeing that his son did not take advantage at all but was so oppressed by others... The Grand Tutor also opened his mouth, but did not say a word in the end.

Su Chen's relentless attacks continued to attack in an orderly way, even though he did not use much energy. This has forced Murong Lingyun to defend himself time and time again.

This scene made everyone stunned once again!

The younger generation who have always seen Murong Lingyun invincible are even more shocked, and the prince's eyes also showed shock.

After Katana Shower ended, Su Chen stood in front of the spectators. Compared to the young saints from his clans branches. This fight is very easy, he wasn't even hit.

Lingyun's whole body is full of blood stains. Blood kept flowing out from the corners of his mouth. But he still raised his hand to wipe off the sweat on his forehead as if nothing happened.

The outcome of this game will inevitably make waves across the empire, forcing everyone's perception of martial arts to undergo major changes.

For Su Chen himself —— He has already proven everything he has to prove by standing here today!

Sensing the empires shocked and his fathers worry, Murong Lingyun can't help but smile despite his injury, this is the first time he was put in this situation. He couldn't even touch the enemy's clothes.
