chapter 9

"It's so beautiful, I like it," a young lady smiled, "Thanks I love you so much." The sweet couple hugged. The lady sitting at the counter looked at them a smiled bitterly, today was Valentine's Day so all the single people cried on their pillow.

"Can you guys just stop fawning over each other it's disgusting," sage made a disgusted face.

"Get over it, find a boyfriend and let us have a good lover's day at least," Maeve laughed. She was really tired of pleading her friend to get a man to love her.

"You sell coffee here daily, has no one really coughed your eyes?" Chase took a sip of his coffee.

"I think she's blind,"

"Or maybe she's dating some old man hahaha," Sage hit Maeve with an empty can.

"Can you guys stop ahh; you're just making my day trashy." She slept on the counter. The others just laughed and walked to her and hugged her forcefully,

"You people can you let me die in peace, am already grieving my own death," She dragged her feet and joined the rest. Her friends looked at her and signed, this girl always gave excuses so not to go on blind dates.

"Can you at least get a life?" Maeve complained stretching, "You promised us that you'll get over that bustard, he's probably out there living a good life and you're here sulking and hating yourself, you know you're not getting any younger." Sage scoffed.

"Did you just say that am growing old," Sage took the broom near her and walked towards Maeve.

"Sage seriously you know I never meant that…." Maeve laughed tiring to run around.

"Come here you bustard let this old lady punish you..." Sage imitated an old lady's voice.

"Eeew! Sage what was that voice," Chase wrinkled his nose. They all laughed it was a happy scene for people outside, who wouldn't want to have such a happy life where you don't have to worry about misfortunes.

But was that true everyone has their darkest part of life it's just that they never show out in the public. Every smile has its own misery.

.......

The night flowed and covered the world, people walked laughing, chattering about life, but Sage walked around town like she had no soul, it's been hard for her. The coffee shop salary wasn't enough to cater all her needs; maybe it is true being a woman is a bit handful. She had to find another job.

How does it feel walking around happy faces when you don't know how to be happy yourself, she looked at her side in the visible glass window, a family of four enjoying a dinner night. Having people around that show affection, true love not pretence.

She laughed bitterly and walked in her small apartment, an old building that looked like they would be evicted because it was old rusty.

She had an advantage, she didn't need to buy groceries she ate at the coffee shop, but that reminded her that she had no family.

She lay on her small bed and wore her ear pods, listening to music helped her forget her hell of life. Will everything go back to normal?

******************************************************************** It's been two weeks since Seth gained conscious, he's been practising to walk with was a hard task to do because of the most time he took laying on bed.

He walked in support of his wooden stick walking like the king he was to the, dining room and joined the butler's family. The only family he had.

Poppy looked at the handsome young man walking to join them and felt her heart squeeze, he was young but he had enemies trailing after him. Life was really unfair; people that are willing to help others always end up in the devil's hands.

"Why are you clicking and making those sounds while people are having dinner?" Lincoln was looked at his plumb wife sitting near him,

"The world is just not fair," She rubbed her face with her fat palms; Lincoln looked at her direction and spotted Seth struggling to go down the stairs. He clenched is hand,

"True, but life was never meant to be fair we have to struggle to get somewhere." He tried to explain to his wife.

"But still you have to know your place, here we are just employed and we shouldn't associate ourselves with other matters, so keep your running mind to yourself, and also we've seen a lot heard a lot but we choose to ignore it all.

His wife looked at him disapprovingly, "I was only taking pity, why do you have to scold me?" She walked out the dining room and left Lincoln rubbing his neck.

Seth joined the old man in the dining and sat across him,

"Anything new," He took a gulp of water,

"No young master, nothing new no one has made a move," Lincoln helped Seth serve rice and stew. Seth received the food and munched at it, the food was sweet and melted down his throat, and the tender aroma reminded him of a special woman.

"Thinking of madam Silver?" Seth looked up, with that Lincoln knew he read his expression.

"I knew you missed her so much so I had my wife try her recipes, hope it's up to your taste, I know she can't cook the exact replica_"

"It's ok, don't cook any of her food again and burn the books." He stood up looked at Lincoln with an indifferent gaze, "And we are moving out of this house to the mansion in town, so get everything prepared." He left the dining room to the cellar took his favourite wine and glass and went to his room and banged the door.

Lincoln with the help of his wife cleaned the dining table,

"Isn't it a waste, the book can help someone?" Poppy singed rich people had real issues. Lincoln just signed and held out his finger to his wife's small mouth to keep her quiet.

"THIS WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING, HELL WAS OPENING SOON!!!!!"
