43. Nerium

Benjamin flinched when Ruhan turned to look at him.

The expression on Ruhan's face was not readable.

Ruhan smiled, 'Aunt Siya, we are fighting with a blood weapon. Don't use your soul weapon.' his eyes expressed his pride.

He was indeed a young one, but he was someone who is the brightest student in Sphinx Academy. He soon would become a part of Justice, so he was not just some weak opponent.

The weapons used while practicing must be the blood weapons. With a blood weapon on both sides, if the opponent is defeated, the defeated weapon will turn hollow. It will spill out the defeated owner's blood. After that, whoever imprints the hollow blood weapon with their blood, will be addressed as the new owner. Unless the blood-weapon winner is defeated, it won't go hollow.

The highest-ranked blood weapons are limited in numbers. Because those weapons are from ancient times. From the time when Jinns had fought to clean the earth from Hinns. Though a normal ranking weapon is available all the time because the Jinns were only able to figure out the procedure of making a normal blood weapon. But the original high-rank blood weapons were not accessible for experiments. Nor can the weapons be figured out of their contents and procedure.

It is mandatory, while practicing one should use only low blood weapons. There is also another reason why while practicing one needs to use low-rank blood weapons and don't prefer to use any high-rank blood weapons.

The reason was clear. If lost, the weapon can be rightfully claimed by the winner. And nobody would want to lose the high-rank blood weapon. Because of its nature, the blood weapon is named Nerium. It is also considered a betrayer because it doesn't stay with you even if you have lost your position and this is mainly why Soul-weapons are admired. Even when the owner is defeated, it doesn't leave or replace the owner and this soul weapon is addressed as Ruh.

While practicing, with a Ruh, one cannot just use any type of blood weapon against it. It is not allowed to use a Nerium below the high-rank as the fight should be using similar ranking weapons. Only a high-rank Nerium can fight with a Ruh because no matter the strength or power, Ruh is already a high rank.

If both parties are using soul weapons and one gets defeated, the defeated party can lose their position in the clan as a result even if it was only a practice. That's why one should never use a soul weapon while practicing.

Ruhan owns a high-rank blood weapon that can compete with Lily's soul weapon. So seeing Lily not summoning her blood weapon seemed strange to him. Even though it was a blood weapon, it's a high rank and if Lily is defeated, she would lose her position as Lord of Ruan. It was a serious matter.

Rose sat facing the other side in the audience seat as she wasn't eager to see the fight because she knew Lily would win. She sat and talked with the knights sitting there. Seeing the confidence in Lily, Ruhan was doubtful of her action. If she hadn't used any blood weapon that means she trusts her confidence and soul weapon.

A Soul weapon is comparable with a high-rank blood weapon but when the bond between the soul weapon and the owner is strong, the possibility to defeat whoever the opponent is, increases. Ruhan wanted to see how strong that bond is. He was curious how much she had practiced becoming this confident.

"Sol...If I lose control, don't mortally hurt him." As she commands her soul weapon, the fire around the sword turns blackish-blue once then turns back to ocean blue like her eyes. Lily adored the sword in her hand.

Sharp eyes, steady hands with no fear, Ruhan was analyzing Lily. Rose noticed his thoughts and looked at Lily while sitting on the bench as Ruhan's description made Rose curious why Ruhan was analyzing Lily.

The Knights were teasing Rose for losing to Ruhan and Rose was picking fights with them.

Suddenly, the sound of the fallen sword silenced Rose. She didn't look back to know whose sword was that.

Lily's.

Ruhan was truly struggling while fighting. It seemed Ruhan had a hard time trying to defeat Lily. But the sword was not out of its flame. Everyone who was from the Han clan, was applauding in happiness. Ryba was surprised at the result. She couldn't believe that her son had won against the Lord of Ruan.

Rose gulps down her thoughts and freezes for a while.

'Pardon my impoliteness. I hope I didn't ruin your practice.' The voice was recognisable to Lily.

Her eyes couldn't blink. Rose stood up at once from the seat. She didn't need to read Lily to know what was all that about.

Ginger hair, blue eyes that Lily was traumatised of. That filthy person was standing next to Tao Shin. They both interrupted the practice.

Lily couldn't understand why the person who had raped her was standing with Tao Shin. She clenched her fist and her gaze didn't leave from watching that person.

Ruhan noticed her expression and looked at the person next to Tao Shin.

Ruhan's eyes were trying to understand the meaning of Lily's sudden silence and the expression. Ruhan knows the person very well.

Elyich Lamido, the current Lord of clan Lamido, was smiling with a cordial appearance.

Ryba went ahead and greeted him. Elyich expressed how amazed he was to see Ruhan defeating the Lord of the Ruan and was praising Ryba for having a son like him. Ruhan looked at Lily whose eyes didn't express the emotion of being sad.

Her eyes were entirely focused on the person she was observing.

Ruhan said with a fake smile,'Unfortunately, I didn't win. You see, you interrupted the practice, that's why Aunt Siya got distracted and her weapon fell. That doesn't mean she was defeated.'

The reason was exactly as Ruhan stated. The smile on Elyich face, dims.

'Is that so?' His question made Ruhan smile.

'Why don't you see for yourself if you don't believe me.' Ruhan's face was looking as if Ruhan was mocking Elyich.
