Su Yunjin had a dream.
In her dream, she somehow found herself back in high school, surrounded by chattering girls divvying up the snacks some boy from the neighboring class had sent her, discussing which of her male admirers was the handsomest.
Centered amidst the adoring crowd like a star encircled by the moon, Su Yunjin leisurely organized her backpack, as if the topics discussed had nothing to do with her.
Since fourth grade, she had been receiving expressions of affection, both overt and subtle, from the opposite sex and had grown quite accustomed to it. Sometimes she couldn't help but wish she wasn't as pretty, for the world was full of "vulgar people" who only liked someone for their face. She found such superficial attention utterly uninteresting but couldn't very well wear a "face dogs, don't bother me" sign, so she resorted to radiating indifference.
Though, in truth, it wasn't much use.
