A New Type of Cook?

After accepting the quest Ulric moved the hunk of meat into the kitchen, he had a small preparation table in the middle for raw food, he knew it wasn't needed but bad habits in game could lead to bad habits out of game, after placing the meat down he washed his hands at the sink and took out various knives and skewers to cut and hold the meat.

Looking at the outside it was clear this was inedible, it was just a layer of fat that had already started to putrefy, it was quickly removed.

Under the fat the outer layer was somehow dried out and hard, almost like jerky and the color was defiantly a wrong mix of brown and grey, removed.

The next layer was sticky to the touch, removed.

Layer after layer was removed, some moldy, some gone bad, until only 2 were left, both appeared perfect, but according to the quest this meat only had 1 edible serving not 2.

Only 1 option left he thought and he began heating a pan to fry the first slice of meat, as he laid down the slice he listened to the sizzling begin, a long hissing sound, he continued to listen for a bit longer and then smiled, he picked up the slice of cooked meat with a pair of tongs..... and tossed it into the trash with the rest of the rejected meat.

One slice left, if he was wrong then he had already failed, he cleaned the pan quickly and put it back on the heat, then when the temp was right he added the meat, the sizzle began but this time it had the crackle and pop of properly cooking meat, in a few minutes it was done Ulric picked up the cooked slice and popped it into his mouth.

Ulric looked at his new status, his stats were average for a new player even though he had played for a long time, he didn't know much about the game as all he did was cook and walk around, he intended to do much more but his situation killed his drive and he settled for what he had, anyway he knew he couldn't leave the island as it and several others were specially designed to be undemanding on the users system, but now things had changed, he had been handed this and it felt like he would be ungrateful if he didn't give it a try.
