Stellar Witch

I looked into my telescope at the night sky and tried to find ripples in reality amongst the stars. Legend has it that Dimensional Portals open at exactly 3 AM every night then stay open until 4 AM. It's currently 2:40 AM and I'm staying up all night for this moment.

3 AM struck and my hopes rose up then I was met with the same disappointment I'm met with every day. I walked off and decided to go to bed.

"A guess a myth should stay a myth..." I said and walked into my room.

I got into bed and turned off the lights.

As the night remained, a Dimensional Portal opened in the sky then shooting stars began to shoot out of the portal. One crashed on the ground and the rumbling woke me up. I grunted softly and sat up on my bed then hurried toward my window. I watched as a cloaked figure stood up from the green energy the fallen star radiated.

"What the..?" I said then hurried to the balcony.

I used my telescope to look at the sky and noticed a Dimensional Portal in the night sky. My eyes widened then I watched it close. I looked at the time only to see it was only 3:38 AM. I grabbed my jacket and hurried outside.

I made it outside and looked at the cloaked figure who was looking around cluelessly. The cloaked figure looked back and noticed me, she grunted and held her wand at me. She asked no questions before firing green energy projectiles at me. I grunted and ran off then noticed she was still firing energy blasts at me. I ran into my house and slammed the door shut.

"What the hell..?" I panted and leaned my head against the door.

More orbs of energy was shot through my walls then I ran off the the kitchen. I wondered desperately on why this person was trying to kill me. I haven't even said a word to them yet. I grabbed a kitchen knife and looked around my surroundings.

"You saw something you weren't supposed to see. Curiosity does kill the cat you know!" The figure said and walked into the kitchen.

"It's not my fault that you crash landed into my front lawn!" I contested.

It was either Fight or Flight because Fright would only get me killed. The figure walked toward me then ran over to me and an energy blade cloaked her wand. She slashed at me, but I managed to block it then was repelled away by her force of energy. I groaned as I rolled across my counter. I landed on the ground and stood up.

"Accept your Fate, Human. I'll make sure you can't tell a soul about this." The figure said then dashed toward me.

I dodged their slash then grabbed a pan off the dish rack then slammed it against their head. They groaned and held their head. I grabbed their wrist and disarmed them then pinned them against the counter. They grunted as they tried to escape my hold.

"Now let's both calm down...I am not going to tell anyone about this as long as you stop trying to kill me." I said.

"Unhand me right now, Human Waste!" The person said.

I stared at the figure and kept hold on them. "No, until you tell me who you are and why you attacked me without saying anything."

The person sighed and grumbled. "Fine..."

I let them go and picked up their wand so they couldn't get it. I watched them and watched as they uncovered their face. My face showed a bit of surprise to see the person...looked human. She was a beautiful woman, more beautiful than any woman could ever be on Earth.

Her green highlights shined on her black hair, her caramel eyes pierced through me like a thousand needles with embarrassment. She had a noticable blush on her face as she didn't want to be compromised.

"My name is Verdi. I am a Witch...and now that you know this...I can not let you leave my sights. My sisters and I landed on the wrong planet and we need to get back. You're gonna help us get back to your world!" Verdi said and held her hand out, wanting her wand.

On one hand, if I help her get back to her world, I could experience the Dimensional Portal in real time...but on the other hand, helping someone who just tried to kill me is not taken lightly by me.

"What's in it for me..?" I asked.

"You aren't going to be killed. That's what is in it for you. Now give me my wand." Verdi said.

"What? Hell no, fuck that...You just tried to kill me and you want me to help you for free?" I asked.

"Would you rather be dead? I don't actually need you, I can find my own way." Verdi said.

I crossed my arms and rose an eyebrow. "Man...No, if I'm gonna help you open a freaking portal, I'm gonna need something more than just whatever mercy you're giving me. Other than that you're stuck on Earth."

"Alright. I guess death it is." Verdi said and held her fingers out at me and a sphere of green energy formed at her finger tips. "Humans like you believe in Heaven and Hell. I wonder which one you'll be going to."

I grunted ran off once against. She fired a beam at me and I used the pan to block it. The beam deflected off the pan and hit her. She groaned as she was hit then an explosion happened. I looked at my steaming pan and looked back at Verdi.

Verdi walked out out of the smoke, dusting herself off. She glared at me. "I see you like making things hard for me huh...Fine.."

She held out her hand then a green wooden sword formed into her hand. She lowered her posture then rushed toward me and slashed at me. I panicked a bit then dodged her slash then swung the pan upwards, but she dodged it then kicked me across the living room. I groaned as I slammed my back against the wall. The pictures and other souvenirs on the wall fell to the ground.

"You're not going to defeat me, Human." Verdi said and walked forward. She walked forward and picked up a certificate on the ground. "Or shall I said CEO of Stellar Inc. I see you're very knowledgeable about the stars and astronomy huh, Weiss Welsh. It would be a shame for your business to crumble because you're too stubborn to appreciate your life."

I stood up and grunted softly. "You struck first, no questions...now you want me to help you? Kiss my ass.."

Verdi's eye twitched a bit from annoyance. "And you wonder why Aliens will never visit this pathetic planet, matter of fact they have and you're looking at one. We just like toying with you pathetic homosapiens. You're nothing but toys to us. You should be licking the dust off my shoes right now.."

I dropped my pan on the floor then smirked. "That's never gonna happen."

Verdi noticed I pointed her want at her. She noticed a small ball of energy form at the tip of the wand and looked surprised. "Hold on! You can't control that power!"

"Why would you care so much, if I die from this, you'll be getting what you want." I said.

"Stop it! If you fire that blast—"

I grunted and fired a massive beam of energy at Verdi and she blocked it then another explosion happened.

...

...

...

I suddenly woke up on my bed and sat up quickly. I touched my body and noticed I was still alive.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" Verdi asked as she was leaned against the wall.

I looked at Verdi and looked a bit surprised. "You're still here..?"

"I revived you because your idiocracy made me feel pity for you. You died because that blast destroyed your energy points...reviving you cost me a lot of Essence as well. So now we're stuck together until you find a way to return my Essence so I can have enough energy to make that Dimensional Portal." Verdi said.

"No one told you to revive me." I said and laid down. I checked the time on my phone. I sighed softly and placed my phone down.

"No one told you to use my wand. Because of you, I can't return home. You should've been grateful I even showed you mercy the first time. Maybe I would've been out of your way already." Verdi said and closed her eyes.

"Whatever, what's done is done." I said and got out of bed. "I have to get ready to go. We can discuss this later."

Verdi watched me and sighed then walked off. I looked back and looked outside. On one side, I was excited to learn more about her kind, but on the other hand I had a feeling nothing was going to go right. I just got ready for the day.

After getting ready, I left my house and got into my car then drove off to work. As I drove, I heard people screaming for help and the police firing shots at something. I stopped my car and got out then saw a creature I couldn't even explain.

"Everyone get to safety!" A police officer called out.

The creature was a massive eyeball with symbols circling around the iris of the eyeball. It fired a powerful ocular beam at the police cars and destroyed them in the explosion. The police force couldn't even take down the threat.

A green beam of energy was fired at the eyeball, damaging it. I looked back and noticed it was Verdi. The eyeball looked at Verdi and its pupil shined and released a laser beam at her, but she dodged it and flew toward the creature then fired two waves of green energy at the eyeball. The waves struck the eyeball then she finished it off by stabbing its weak spot, the pupil. It made a noise then retreated.

I watched it all happen and she warped away. The people who witnessed it wondered who the cloaked figure was who saved our city, but I knew who it was. I didn't say anything, just called my team and told them to have the day off. I got into my home then drove back home.
