"I never knew you cared about me so much."
Marcus descended slowly from an aircraft, his black boots crushing a stone beneath them.
Liam twitched at the corner of her mouth but remained silent. Lora, on the other hand, walked towards Marcus, relieved to see him unharmed.
Marcus's eyes curved slightly.
"Lora, don't worry, I'm fine."
"Okay."
Although the couple had made a new discovery, they chose not to immediately share it with Liam.
"You both should go back and rest for now. And, for the time being, refrain from going out hunting," Liam said, casting a deep glance at Lora before turning and leaving with her entourage.
The aircraft flew back to their residence, while great-grandfather remained engrossed in his laboratory, unable to tear himself away.
Lora and Marcus walked back together, basking in the warm afternoon sunlight.
Lora placed her hand over her eyes, squinting at the azure sky.
"These mutated plants have developed intelligence."
"Yes."
