Jim Sharp was completely stunned.
"Mother, what are you saying? Lora and I are brother and sister, who on earth is spreading such nonsense?"
Mrs. Sharp, with red eyes and a lingering fear, said, "Isn't it true? That's good, that's good. Lora is just an orphan, she is not worthy of you!"

"Mother, please don't belittle Lora like this. Lora is a good person. Didn't you like her when she was still at home?"
"That was because Silvia was gone! How come you're unhappy when I say a few words about Lora? You've always defended her and treated her better than Silvia. Jim, do you really have no relationship with Lora at all?"
