Jason shut it off without looking. “I am asking, okay. Come on.”
“Seriously lemon meringue.” Colby met those deep dark eyes with his, heart and truth in the words. “Really more so than ever. I—I woke up with you holding me.” Still here, he did not add. Staying. With me. “I love you.”
Jason held his gaze, unwavering. “Love you. How’s the weather?”
“I thought you said we weren’t—”
“You taste too good.” Jason set a hand on Colby’s hip, and couldn’t’ve failed to notice Colby’s expectant reaction, but slowly walked the hand upward instead. Visible, no surprise touches, but drawn-out anticipation. “You said you needed me. I’m trying to listen. No overexertion. Being careful. But I want to make you feel like all the dessert foods. That sound like a good forecast?”
“Like the best meteorological prediction.” He couldn’t hold back the gasp as Jason’s fingers found his nipple and began to play: rolling, teasing, pinching. “Oh, that, please…”
