stay with me, the story of a fisherman and mermaid

In a small island in Atlantic Ocean there stood a village called the anims, the people from this village were called the anums because of their raw strength and unity which they exact In their everyday life. The people of anums were usually farmers and few fisher men who left their houses early to explore the depth of the oceans in search of fishes to sell in anums market. The people of anums where a very good people who despise injustice and support good deeds. parents made sure they impact the next generation. A trait that Egie and Evie impacted on their son Obido.

As a little boy Obido case was always something special he was the only son of Egie and Evie, who were trader and fisherman respectively. At age of eight Obido have learnt the skill of fishing from his dad and as he grew older he have mastered the village act as was already the head of the next generation of fisherman in anims. Even after the death of his parents nothing changed much because Obido spurred on and continued fishing he also diverted his attention to treasure hunting which means him getting far away to the areas in the ocean that other fisherman rarely goes in search of treasure. He was never particularly successful in this but he is always a positive minded fellow who believes that it is always difficult in the beginning and will always become easier.

At age of ten Obido was betrothed to Anya a very beautiful girl from the next village. They where supposed to get married when they have come of age. Obido was about three years older than Anya and always sees her as her future wife some days after a successful catch Obido will sent fishes to Anya parents who in return will bless him.

One day Obido was our fishing in the river that day was something else for the first time in his life he have spent hours sending his fishing net into the river and have not yet got a catch. He was very upset that he decided to go the side of the river with hope that he will catch more fishes because people rarely visited those sites. He advanced side ways and then anchored and throw his net into the river for a catch and after minutes of waiting, the results was still the same no catch. He then decided that it was time to go home, he spurred his boat back on and advanced North. He continued paddling in anger whilst murmuring continuously " what a day". Of course a day like this have never happened in his life and it is what fisherman will always make sacrifices and ritual to avoid such day. It was at this time that he heard a voice a very beautiful voice, an ethereal voice of an angel. He wanted to continue which his way home but curiosity got hold of him and he decided to approach the voice. He knew that by this time of the day most fishermen would have already gone home to their families with their catch and this voice is a feminine voice. Whatever it is or whoever that is singing this song I must see her today, Obido said with determination and it burned in his eyes as he directed his canoe to the direction of the sound. Not long he was getting close to the source from where the angelic voice is heard and he started paddling gently and slowly while being as careful as he have never been before. Not long his gaze landed on a rock on top of the ocean and trailed upwards and behold he saw a human lady with a tail of a fish ( mermaid), combing her hair while chanting this best song ever heard with an angelic voice that can send peace to the world. Obido started at the creature his mouth wide open he could not believe what he was seeing it was as if he is in another world in a fantasy world where the stories of ghost and mermaid and all those mythical creatures exists. By this time the mermaid was aware of someone starring at her and she turned to know what it was, she dropped her comb which she have been using to comb her hair on top of the rock and when her eyes caught sight of Obido wide starring eyes she gave out the sweetest smile ever to Obido. Who are you?, she asked. My name is Obido I'm from Anim village he answered feeling fearful the only thing that is holding from peeing in his short was the alluring smile on the face of this strange creature. Which can be translated into different meaning. So Obido did not even let the thought of the positive impact of the smile affect him because he knows that she may be smiling to him because she is going to eat him up, or maybe she will punish him for stalking and eavesdropping on her. And what are you doing here by this time of the day? she asked, cutting Obido from his train of thought. I I am eh ehmm ehmm a fisherman he stammered, the creature continued looking at him this time she is no longer smiling maybe she is trying to know if he is telling the truth or lying. She swam to the canoe Obido was fishing with in a great speed and in a second she appeared before Obido who at this time is visibly shaken the mermaid aware of her dawning impact to Obido acted as if nothing have happened. You said that you are a fisherman? She asked, a good fisherman should know when to fish and also when to go home so what are you doing here by this time of the day are you in any way stalking me she asked. No no no I swear I have not been stalking you I did not even know you or your type of creatures exists I thought it was in fairytales that you people exist. I was coming back from a bad day I was unlucky today I spent hours casting my net to the sea and yet I was not able to get not even one fish so I decided to go home, it was on my way home that I heard a very beautiful voice and I decided to check out who was singing and it turns out to be you.
