Chapter 32
When Pyrrha woke up, she prayed that what happened last night was just a very bad dream. Unfortunately it didn't seem so. When she got down from her bunk she saw both Yang and Weiss sleeping in Weiss' bed. With most of their clothes on, thankfully. Yang didn't even bother with removing her shoes and was sleeping with her feet on the floor. Weiss on the other hand managed to get out of hers and also ditched the jacked that was laying on the floor near the doors. It was rather disgusting because both of them were covered in dirt and dust. The vomit inducing cherry on top was that the windows were closed for the entire time and the air inside was most likely biohazardous. She opened the window and left for her morning run to unwind.
Well… this explains the ruckus.
When she exited the dormitory she saw a short trench and a small crater right in front of her. Some distance away there was a yellow and black motorcycle laying in the bushes. This was going to be a very long day.
"When did you start cooking?" Blake asked Pyrrha when she ran into her in the communal kitchen. Usually it would be either Ren or Yang who would be in charge but after all of them woke up in the middle of the night, Nora decided to investigate and dragged him along, only coming back close to dawn and both were now catching up on their sleep. "I suppose it's a nice plan. They say that the way to one's heart is through their stomach." She really liked teasing Pyrrha about it. She was just so uptight about it that getting the rise out of her became one of her favorite past times.
"Either use the kitchen or go away. I'm not in the mood." Pyrrha snapped at her and sent her a threatening glare.
"Wow, chill out a bit. What got your panties in a twist?" Blake asked, honestly concerned. Sure, she declared war on Pyrrha but it was more of a joke competition and she didn't want Pyrrha to go all bitchy on her.
Pyrrha seemed to calm down a bit and released a tired sigh. "Doesn't matter. Just… go bug somebody else."
-BBW-
Ruby had come back just before lunch and immediately hunted down Pyrrha to keep her up to date with the design. It now involved wings and shoulder mounted rocket launchers. Pyrrha didn't know why she even needed wings in the first place. She could fly around without them, after some training of course. Ruby insisted that wings would also be gunblades and that they should still help her stay stable while flying.
At least somebody spent their time being productive. She was a bit worried about coming back to the droms. She hasn't seen either of them today so they were probably still out cold. To her surprise, that was exactly the time the two of them walked into the cafeteria. Yang looked mostly as usual, just a bit more tired. Instead of the confident stroll and an aura that pretty much scared lesser people she seemed… normal. Weiss on the other hand looked ready to kill somebody. Every time there was a clatter of utensils or somebody got a bit louder there was a hate-filled glare sent their way. She could see her hand twitch every time as if to form a glyph and put whoever or whatever was disturbing her out of its, and hers, misery.
But the most glaring part was the obvious consequences of their escapade. Yang's wasn't that noticeable, just a small reddish spot right above her collarbone. It wasn't even visible most of the time, staying hidden behind a veil of her golden locks. Weiss would probably receive a lot of questions and even more weird looks. Her usual white jacket had a high collar so it was somewhat hidden for now but as soon as she would wear the uniform, the large purple hickey on the side of her neck would be very easy to see. Especially on her pale skin.
Pyrrha had to agree with Weiss on that one, Yang really should have been a bit more gentle even if it was in the heat of a moment
"Morning!" Yang waved at them with a smile while Weiss only grumbled something and unceremoniously dropped herself on the chair at the table. Pyrrha just glared at the two, trying to look as intimidating and disappointed as possible.
"Did something happen?" Ruby innocently asked. Everyone was being weird… she was only gone for a day in a half. Did her team already have a falling out with each other?
"They left right after you and couldn't even pick up their scrolls when I called them. I was really worried when I went to sleep and I was still the only one in the dorm." Pyrrha scoffed.
Weiss completely ignored her and it looked like she had fallen asleep again. Yang on the other hand was making things even worse- "You should have gone with Rubes then. She has a TV, bedroom, shower and everything there." -by completely ignoring the main issue.
"But she would be bored there!" And so did Ruby. "I was downstairs the entire time. She would be even more lonely there than here!" Yes, because Blake made for a 'great' company… Pyrrha sarcastically thought but didn't voice it.
"Can you keep it down! At least for one fucking day?!" Weiss angrilly scolded them, her head only slightly turned, still resting on the table.
"Swear jar!"
"Didn't you leave it on Patch?"
Pyrrha continued to eat and idly thought if Ruby would even acknowledge what happened while she was gone.
-BBW-
A sensual moaning carried through the hall. Most people wouldn't even notice but Blake's cat ears immediately twitched in the direction.
"Ilia, did you-"
"Yes, I did." She answered without hearing the question. She might not have the same hearing as Blake but she was still above humans. "Please, don't."
"Come on! This is important!" And she rushed off, following the sound.
"Why am I not even surprised?" Ilia remarked when the mad chase led them to team RWPY's dorm.
"Ilia, check what's going on inside." Blake told her in a rather commanding tone.
"Hell no! If you want to be a peeper then you are on your own!." Her semblance was great for recon and avoiding people in general but she refused to use it to spy on people having some not-so-inoccent fun.
"I just want to know who it is." Blake was slightly panicked. What if Pyrrha had already beaten her? In one freaking day, no less. Unacceptable!
"You owe me for this…" Ilia grumbled and activated her aura insight. Immediately, she had to close her eyes again and wait a bit for her semblance to adjust to the intensity.
"Okay… so the Schnee is there." She still had plenty of questions in regards to what the hell was wrong with her aura being split and alternating but she doubted she would get an answer if she asked. "Ruby and Yang are there too. Yang is on the floor and Ruby is on top of her?" And the tone of the moaning would also fit Yang… She had to fight really hard for her skin not to switch color.
"What?!" Blake asked, eyes open in disbelief. She urgently knocked on the door. The moaning hadn't stopped but the doors had opened a few seconds later. She caught a glimpse of Weiss' glyph and a small armored arm but didn't pay it any mind as she entered the room.
Weiss was laying on the bed in her bathrobe and looked mostly dead to the world with the exception of the weak glare she sent to the intruders.
"Oh hey guys! You need something?" Ruby cheerfully called out. And Ilia was right. Yang was laying on her stomach without her top with ruby sitting on her waist and she had the most content and happy expression she had ever seen on her.
"Ehm…we just heard some noise coming from here." Blake fumbled and looked to Ilia for some support. Instead she caught a glimpse of her ponytail disappearing behind the door into their dorms. That traitor!
Ruby continued to look at Blake in confusion for a few moments until the imaginary lightbulb lit up above her head and she promptly slapped Yang across her bare back. "Told you! You were being too loud!"
Yang only gave her a soft murmur in response.
"She said she was feeling tired and asked if I wouldn't mind giving her a backrub." Ruby explained. "Was the noise everything or you wanted something else?"
Blake rocket her brain to think up an excuse because barging into their dorm only because of noise was too silly for her. Then she remembered why she was looking for the girl yesterday.
"Actually, I wanted your input on some ideas I had for my team. Combination attacks and stuff like that. Oh, and if you have some time, maybe you could take a look at my weapon."
Ruby's eyes litery sparked with excitement as she launched herself from Yang, getting a small grunt out of the blonde, and immediately went to gather her the things she might end up needing. Soon she was standing by the door with her trusty notebook and her maintenance kit. "Let's go!"
Blake chuckled at the enthusiasm. "We don't have to leave, I don't mind if they listen in."
"Nah, let's go somewhere else. Weiss is legally dead and Yang is pretending to be a puddle." Ruby walked out.
"You know, I would like to see her from time to time." Aforementioned puddle spoke up, still laying on the floor. "With all the weapon commissions she might start living in her lab again."
"Don't worry, I won't keep her out for long." Blake was sure that there was a hidden threat somewhere but with Yang being on the floor and barely awake she couldn't figure it out properly.
-BBW-
The next week started all the kinds of wrong for Weiss. First she had to spend extra time covering up the hickey Yang gave her. Her aura was doing a good job at making it disappear and she had enough practice with make-up to make it almost invisible. Even then she still saw a few people stealing glances and she really wanted to stab Blake after she gave her a wink and thumbs-up.
That stupid oaf! How could she do this to me?!
"Oh relax… it will be gone by the end of the week anyway. Just make sure it happens next time I'm still awake." Ivory chimed in. She did black out after the rough landing, not that she minded missing the aftermath. She spent most of the time while on the nevermores back making out with her date and being very grabby.
It was your fault you couldn't land like a normal person!
She honestly didn't know where they even stood right now. She had a great time going out with Yang although she was refusing to admit it to anyone except Ivory who was nagging that they should go out again on the next weekend. When they were in their dorms the things were pretty much the same as they were before, except Pyrrha always giving them weird looks, as if she was expecting some sort of explanation. Yang was sleeping in Ruby's bed with hers still being a bunch of half-burned sticks and whatever was left of the mattress. She may have been drunk at the time but cuddling up to her was really nice…
She couldn't even find either courage to breach the subject nor the time to do it with Goodwitch throwing her into detention for two entire weeks. What right does she even have! She didn't do anything illegal!
"Actually, I'm not sure about Vale's drinking age."
I'm a legal adult by being a huntress in training.
At least she wasn't the only one who had relationship problems. Pyrrha and Blake used to be good friends even if half of the interactions consisted of Blake being at her worst and trying to get a reaction. Now they barely tolerated each other. Pyrrha was outright hostile and if there were people around she limited herself to being very passive aggressive. All of it culminated in a very heated argument before the combat class. The argument itself was utterly asinine, starting at age of consent in Vale and somehow going to Argus independence. Nobody around really cared, This was Vale. Most people didn't even know where or what it was or if they did, they thought it was an Atlesian colony. Which it pretty much was anyway.
They were only looking for an excuse, weren't they?
"Wonder what the actual reason is…"
"Hey, what's going on?" A distraught voice came from behind. Ruby had stayed behind, talking to Port about some specifics when it came to beowolf's behavior and Yang hang back as well to keep her some company.
"Who knows…" Weiss idly replied. She was more focused on the other sister. "Yang. Do you think we could-"
"Nikos and Belladonna! If you have so much energy to spare then put it to use in the arena and not to holler across the halls!" Goodwitch arrived in her usual fashion and started the class.
Blake and Pyrrha soon took their places across from each other. Gone was the emotionless professionalism or minor eagerness, both combatants were serious and wouldn't hold back in the slightest.
Ruby was getting really worried. Two of her friends were trying to seriously hurt each other, hell, if it wasn't for Yang putting her hand on her shoulder she would have already jumped in.
Pyrrha was relentless, always chasing Blake down and batting away all of her attacks with her shield and forcing her to rely on her semblance to get away from danger.
In a flash of purple light Pyrrha's shield was cut in half. Without the shield Pyrrha gave Blake a very nasty shoulder check and her spear also started to glow dim red. Ruby felt Yang's hand leave her shoulder. Taking it as a permission to intervene she was ready to leap across the seats, only for the two large purple glyphs that launched the two fighters out of the arena.
"Enough!" Goodwitch shouted and gave threatening glare to both girls, daring them to continue the fight. "Both of you, go back to your seats! I will deal with you after the class."
When they sat down, Ruby had tried to talk to both of them but neither of the girls could properly answer with Blake unleashing a stream of terribly thought out excuses and Pyrrha just saying she felt 'uncomfortable' talking about it and brooding on her own.
"Hey Weiss."
"What is it?" Weiss craned her neck so she could hear Yang better.
"Can you take care of Rubes for a while?" She asked her, a deep frown on her face.
Here goes my chance to talk to her…
"Sure, but I expect something in return." She added with a forced smirk.
Yang's frowny face twitched and that was the only reaction she was willing to show. When the class was over Yang unceremoniously dragged both Blake and Pyrrha into the adjusted dressing room, ignoring every protest and even the admonishing glare from Goodwitch before slamming the doors behind them. Weiss in the meantime did a good job at keeping Ruby occupied at least until she would need to go sit out her detention.
"Explain." Yang commanded the two girls in front of her who were still glaring at each other while rubbing their wrists after being roughly dragged.
"Pyrrha was being a bitch." Blake scoffed and gave an honest, unashamed response.
"How dare you lecherous-"
Yang tuned out the yapping and gave them a few seconds to get it out of their system. Instead of calming down they seemed ready to start another fight which would waste her time greatly. It was time for more drastic measures.
I, who shall awaken.

She wanted to give the girls some space. She was trying to uphold the discipline in hte school but she understood that children had to grow up on their own so when she saw Tai's brat drag the two hotheads to have a bit of privacy with an expression that would scare grimm, she decided to give them a few minutes to try and deal with their problems on their own.
Several minutes passed and they were still inside. No fighting had broken out but they were clearly taking too long and it was time for some counseling. Both Nikos and Belladonna had so far been good students and she was willing to let them go with only a stern warning. Everything changed when she was on the way to the doors. The air became scorching, her aura unstable and her combat instincts were going crazy. She didn't know what was happening but there were currently three students close by that could be in danger. Evac first, fight the threat, get an explanation from Oz. She was about to rip out the wall of the room they were in when everything returned to normal as suddenly as it started. She quickly looked around. Wouldn't be the first time some delinquent with perception affecting semblance tried to prank her. When she couldn't locate anyone in the vicinity she slowly left the class to go back to her usual tasks, namely going through the current students to see if any of them would receive an exemplary beati-demonstration match.
Pyrrha was on the verge of a panic attack. Blake looked the same. Their pupils were dilated, breathing ragged, cold sweat was pouring down and both of them were in combat stances by the virtue of triggered fight or flight instinct. Both were warily looking at Yang who looked very annoyed.
"You are going to answer me properly this time around." She said matter of factly.
They both gulped. Pyrrha, thinking herself morally right, decided to honestly answer and possibly threw Blake under the bus. "I was protecting Ruby from Blake's advances."
Yang raised an eyebrow and looked to Blake for her opinion. "As if. You were just being jealous that I was spending more time with her than you." Blake scoffed but her eyes stayed on Yang.
Yang herself was pretty sure now what this was all about. "You are both idiots." She stated plainly.
"You can't be okay with someone like her goi-"
What the hell? Who made you in cha-"
"Shut up." She flared her semblance for a second to have them listen. "I don't care what happens in Ruby's love life as long as she is happy." She decided to give them a comprehensive explanation so they would stop being so utterly stupid. "She could be married to a plate of cookies, have an intimate relationship with her rifle and go on romantic dates under the stars with fireflies if that's what it takes." She then glared down at Pyrrha and Blake. "And you made her sad with the stunt you just pulled."
They shared a brief look, realizing that they may have let things escalate too far. "Well… who do you think is better?" Pyrrha carefully asked. She was her teammate and believed that she could have better chances overall.
Yang only signed. "I don't care. If one of you makes her happy, great. If it takes both of you, cool. If you need more, then get out and start searching. If she wants someone or something else, you lose, deal with it." And just so the lesson stuck, one last warning. "And if you make Ruby unhappy, I'll make sure it will be the last thing you do." She looked them both down with her blazing red eyes before turning around and leaving.
-BBW-
What a bunch of idiots… Yang entered their dorm and crashed on Weiss' bed face first. I forgot how exhausting it was to be a mom.
"Not that I mind you being in my bed, but could you at least not crumple my clothes next time?" Ivory chimed from the desk, her voice full of mirth.
"Don't you have detention?" Yang tiredly sat up and straightened the few articles of clothing that were under her.
"Ruby called Goodwitch and told her we had a team emergency and that I had to be present. They bickered for a bit but Glynda let me go after I agreed I wouldn't be using my semblance in populated areas and in an 'irresponsible' manner." She explained, rolling her eyes at the end. "Speaking of emergencies, how did it go? For the record, I'm not helping you hide the bodies."
"Both have a thing for Rubes -where is she by the way?- and were at each other's throats because of it." Yang quickly summarized.
"She and Nora are in the kitchen debating which is better, cookies or pancakes." She softly smiled at the childish antics. "Did you give them the whole big protective sister routine?" She asked with a smirk.
"Nah… if they want to be with Ruby and she wants it too then it's not my problem. If they hurt her though…"
"I see…" They switched afterwards. "Speaking of relationships," Weiss approached her and sat down next to her. "Where do we stand right now? You've been pretty much ignoring me since Sunday." She sounded unsure and hurt.
"I didn't-"
"You did! You were just carrying on like nothing happened while I had your teeth-print on my neck!" Weiss accused her in a heated tone. Yang could see her eyes becoming slightly bloodshot.
"I just thought that you needed some time to figure out what you wanted and so I gave you some space." Yang replied. She didn't exactly know how it all worked or how Weiss expected it to work.
"Well… we went out and it's logical that I would need your input on how it turned out."
"Yeah…" Well, that's a screw up number one, way to go. "So, did you enjoy it?"
Weiss stayed quiet for a while before giving her a short nod. "Yes. Actually, I had a lot of fun." She looked up and gave her a beaming smile.
"Even if I screwed up at the end?" Yang asked, looking at the almost healed spot on her neck.
Weiss made a brushing gesture with her hand. "It didn't hurt that much. It was definitely more pleasurable than painful. I meant putting it in a place where everybody could see it."
Yang smirked. "So I just have to go lower next time… I'll keep that in mind."
Weiss was ready to retort before swallowing her words and lightly blushing. "So you wouldn't mind if there was a next time? And maybe some other times?"
Yang dropped an arm over her and Weiss pressed herself into the comfortable warmth. "Sure. I had a blast myself. Just not anytime soon. Ruby is gonna give us headaches for some time now and Pyrrha would murder us at night if we did something like the last time." She gave the smaller girl a light squeeze and could see a small content smile on her lips. "Want to tell others? They are probably going to figure it out anyway."
Weiss froze for a moment before speaking. "I… would prefer to keep it quiet. I don't mind telling Ruby and Pyrrha but… If my family finds out, they'll raise hell."
"I'll keep it in mind."
-BBW-
Blake and Pyrrha were sitting on a bench outside of school, still recovering from the tearing down Yang gave them. The biggest question being: What the hell was that?
"Maybe it's like that killer intent thing?" Pyrrha spoke up.
"That's completely made up." Blake shot her down. "She overcharged her semblance?"
"It doesn't work like that… I think."
Another moment of tense silence.
"We screwed up didn't we…" Blake lamented and hugged her knees.
"It was you who started this whole 'war for Ruby' thing." Pyrrha shot back and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I meant more like a friendly competition, you know. You didn't need to go after my head because of that."
They both stared into the sky for some time.
"What do we do now?"
Pyrrha scoffed. "There is no 'we'! Don't say it like that." She wanted to be angry at her but- "Dammit! We were friends, what the hell are we doing?!"
"Well, it's always either a woman or money that breaks friendships." Blake tried to laugh it off.
"As if, I don't even like her like that, you all are just making assumptions!"
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess." Blake rolled her eyes. "Can I ask you something else? What was with Weiss walking around with a hickey?"
Pyrrha slightly blushed and turned away. "I'm sure it's something that isn't your business. Nor mine to be honest." She was getting an answer out of Yang and Weiss but she wouldn't be spreading rumors.
"I'll be going, I still have a shield to repair." Pyrrha got up from the bench.
"Sorry about that." Blake shyly apologized. "Actually why don't you ask Ruby to take a look at it. It's a nice excuse to spend some time with her." She added.
"And why are you helping me now?" Pyrrha asked. Blake went from being competitive to helpful on a dime. It was too suspicious.
"Count it as an apology for breaking it in the first place…"
-BBW-
Ruby jumped into her bunk after a long day. She was able to get a few words out of Pyrrha about the whole ordeal but she insisted that they had everything under control and that there would be no repeat. Blake was nowhere to be found so she decided to give her some space. At least for now. She wanted all of them to be friends so she already started thinking of plans for a weekend for everyone to get along. Now if only this day could and without any other headaches.
"How many times did I tell you not to bring weapons in bed?" Yang admonished her.
"You only said I couldn't bring Crescent Rose!"
"I meant all the guns and you know it."
"Well, you burned your own bed down so, my bed, my rules!"
Some things just don't change… Weiss thought as she watched the two sisters once again argue about something asinine.
"Want to ask her if she wants to sleep in our bed instead?" Ivory quipped, causing Weiss to blush and hide it under her blanket.
We only decided to start dating today! I just can't-
"Please… she already slept there and it's not like you are going to just jump her. Some cuddling would be nice, though."
I…I don't think I can do it…
"Then let me handle it."
"Wouldn't it be easier if you slept in mine? Unless she starts shooting while asleep and doesn't get dirty, Ruby should handle it. And I doubt it's safe for the two of you to sleep so far above the floor, you almost pushed Ruby off the other day." She spoke up in the midst of the arguing. Pyrrha poked her head out of her bunk with wide eyes. Yang was giving her a questioning look, asking her 'what the hell she was doing'.
"You sure? She sleeps like a slob." Ruby inquired. "And you run the risk of suffocation."
"I'm tougher than I look." Ivory brushed her off. "If she tries something, she will be sleeping on the floor."
There was a moment of silence when all three older girls were expecting for Ruby to finally realize that there was a change in the relationship dynamic and explode with questions or at least provide any reaction. Instead she nodded and gave Weiss an easy smile.
"Okay, just in case, pinching is the best form of self-defense."
/
The lights went out and as soon as she was certain nobody was looking she pressed herself closer to Yang who was now the big spoon.
"Next time when you make a decision like this, run it by me first." Yang whispered into her ear.
"You didn't want to be here?" Ivory half-turned and whispered back.
"I didn't mean that." She softly shook her head. "I meant about letting Ruby do whatever she wants. I need to keep an eye on her."
"You can still see her from down here." The heiress remarked. "Besides she is technically an adult now, so let her handle some of the responsibilities of being one."
"Maybe…" She then huffed, sending a torrent of hot air down Weiss' spine. "But it's not your call to make."
"So letting her play around with high-tech weaponry is fine but when somebody takes you a meter away you make a fuss… Brothers, Yang, you are being such an ass…"
