"Patrol Squad Leader? What kind of job is that?" Ayesha looked confused.
"It's similar to being a knight captain." Lucas explained, using a comparable title to help her understand.
In reality, knights and patrol squad leaders are different in status and rank. In Lucas's territory, knights are considered semi-noble, and Lucas had only a few, as he didn't want too many privilege-bearing knights. He preferred a military officer system where commoners could rise up, which he found easier to control and more loyal than the traditional knights.
"Eh? Me, a knight captain???" Ayesha's eyes widened in shock. She quickly waved her hands, saying, "Young master, are you kidding me? I can handle things like eating and fighting, but being a knight captain is too much for me."
"Just think of it as being a militia leader," Lucas rolled his eyes and said softly, "And yes, it involves dealing with bad guys."
"Ah?" Ayesha gaped in surprise. After a moment of hesitation, she said uncertainty, "Young master, didn't you tell me not to hit people?"
"Only bad people," Lucas's lips twitched. He didn't want to dwell on why he had not previously allowed Ayesha to hit people.
"Stealing food? What? Dare to steal my food? No way, today I'm going to kick you out!"
After all, Elisa in the pizza shop had to run around the table dozens of times because she took a slice of Ayesha's pizza.
This is Ayesha's daily routine: she's allowed to take other people's food, but if anyone dares to take her food, she'll turn into a raging bull in no time.
It's much better now; she understands the concept of sharing food, but of course, she only shares with people in the castle. If someone outside dares to touch her food, she'll teach them a lesson in no time.
"Bad guys? That's no problem." When Ayesha heard she was going to be a militia captain, she agreed immediately.
If she were to be a knight captain, Ayesha would indeed be a bit apprehensive, not because her combat skills are lacking, but because she doesn't know how to manage. Does she just go up and beat up anyone who doesn't listen?
"At that time, you'll lead a team of patrol officers, patrol the city, and if you find anything unusual or if someone is causing trouble, you'll bring them all to the security office." Lucas suddenly had a bad premonition.
"No problem!" Ayesha was thrilled at how simple it sounded, her purple eyes sparkling with excitement. In the tribe, only her big sister held her back and didn't let her hit people.
Arriving in Sedona City, with Lucas, Mina, and Annie keeping an eye on her, and now being given permission to hit people, Ayesha hadn't had a chance to vent her strength in a long time.
"Ahem!" Lucas cleared his throat. He suddenly felt a bit uneasy. It wasn't that he was afraid Ayesha would do a bad job, but with thieves and such, he hoped they wouldn't end up with broken limbs. He decided he'd better have someone keep an eye on Ayesha to ensure she didn't go too far, even though such deterrence would be quite effective.
In fact, Ayesha was Lucas's representative for the beastkins. She was meant to send a message to the beastkins of Sedona City that if a beastkin like Ayesha could become a patrol captain, it showed that Sedona City genuinely welcomed them. With effort, beastkins could achieve the same status as humans.
And the only beastkin capable of holding the scene was Ayesha, the straightforward cow horned girl. Mina could also handle the situation, but she was now in charge of the intelligence department. Annie, on the other hand, was overwhelmed with administrative affairs every day.
"Young master, have some water!" Mina handed him a glass of water, her tone gentle. "Ayesha knows her limits; she's not really a child."
"Really?" Lucas turned his head and saw Ayesha gazing longingly at the dried fish on the desk. The look she was giving was utterly unconvincing.
"Uh…" Mina shuffled her feet, subtly moving the dried fish away. Her stash was running low.
"Mina, give me some of the dried fish," Ayesha said, her purple eyes blinking with pleading light, her arms crossed and propped up under her chin.
"…" Mina conceded. Ayesha's ability to look so pitiful was too effective. She handed over the dried fish, saying, "Don't eat it all. Otherwise, Annie will scratch your itch later."
"Alright~~" Ayesha's body tensed. She struggled to suppress the urge to devour the dried fish in large bites. She was used to eating heartily, and suddenly being told to eat just a little made her uncomfortable.
The entire castle knew that Annie had devilish hands that would scratch you into submission, especially targeting sensitive areas to make you feel utterly humiliated.
Ayesha had been ambushed by Annie a few times, usually while she was asleep, and the sensation had made her want to bite someone.
"Seriously…" Lucas began to seriously doubt whether the big-breasted cowgirl might be tricked away by a piece of food. Then he thought about it again—who's food could possibly compare to what's in the castle?
"Nicole, my chest has gotten a bit bigger again. It's so uncomfortable walking after going to the orphanage today. Do you have any solutions?" Ayesha asked through a mouthful of dried fish, her words muffled.
"I'll think about it when we get back to the room," Nicole said, her eyes twitching. How could the big cowgirl blurt out everything like that? Didn't she see that the young Young master was still here?
"Uh…" Ayesha realized what she had just said, blushed, and hurriedly left with the dried fish, leaving Mina looking stunned.
"My dried fish???" Mina held back the urge to chase after Ayesha. She suspected that the big cowgirl had deliberately made off with the dried fish.
"Big chest? Uncomfortable?" Lucas raised an eyebrow. He did have a solution to this issue, involving a specific 'dangerous' item stored in the inner vault. However, Nicole had no idea what that item was for.
"Nicole, you can take out and use the item in a box from the inner vault." Lucas said, walking to the desk and scribbling down instructions on how to use the chest support or lingerie.
"Box? Is it all for us? Don't you need it, Young master?" Nicole recalled that box contained some exquisite, delicate fabrics, although their designs were rather unusual and very small.
"I… I don't need it!" Lucas wiped the sweat from his brow, not wanting to be mistaken for a pervert. The items were something he had ordered from an online store on Earth.
"Oh, and don't give it to Annie. She won't need it…" Lucas had just finished saying this when Annie's head popped in through the door, looking astonished.
"Huh? Young Young master, what's something I won't need?" Annie furrowed her brow, sensing an ominous premonition, as if a major blow was about to hit her.
"This is the usage instructions." Lucas said, covering his face and handing the paper to Nicole before quickly leaving the study room.
Oh my god, Is he really going to say that those who are flat-chested can't use it?
"Hahahaha… Annie, it turns out you won't need it after all."
Indeed, just a few steps away from the study room, Lucas could already hear Mina's gleeful voice.
"Damn it, damn it, I don't care. I'm using it, even if it's just hanging there, it's better than nothing." Annie shouted in frustration.
"You're making it up."
"Mind your own business. Watch me do the 'Eighteen subduing techniques.'"
"You pervert!"
