Appearing in Twilight

It has been a week since I awoke in this new world, leaving behind my previous life as a spy with the unique ability to master any fighting style simply by observing it. In that former existence, I met my demise in a bomb blast, only to find myself reborn in a different body.

Here, I am known as Allen Swan. I share a birthday, September 13, 1987, with my twin sister Isabella. Our parents are Charlie Swan and Renee Swan, formerly Renee Higinbotham. However, their relationship encountered turbulence when we were a mere six months old. Despite my tender age, my past life memories granted me a surprising understanding of their situation. It baffles me how an underdeveloped nervous system could process such complex information.

My mother longed to depart from Forks, but the care of our ailing grandparents, Hellen and Geoffrey Swan, who suffered from Alzheimer's and severe arthritis respectively, prevented Charlie from leaving. Arguments ensued, and eventually, my mother decided to take us and relocate to Arizona. Dad harboured deep affection for Renee, which is why he did not contest the divorce or the child support. All he asked for was time with both Bella and me. During our summer visits to Charlie, I encountered my grandparents. Grandpa Geoffrey could still communicate with me, but Grandma no longer recognised us or even Dad. Unfortunately, our interactions were limited due to my tender age. Grandpa passed away when we were five years old, and after six months, Grandma followed suit.

We continued to visit Charlie, but Mom never accompanied us. Despite everything, I could sense that Dad still loved her. The sadness in his eyes when he saw us without Mom spoke volumes.

And my sister, what can I say about her? Bella possesses a sense of responsibility beyond her years. She has always acted more maturely than Mom ever did. Until we turned six, we lived in Riverside. However, Renee decided to move to Arizona, and we followed suit. Five years later, tragedy struck again when our maternal grandmother, Marie, passed away.

Bella, though a sweet girl, does not possess a natural inclination for hard work. She briefly dabbled in ballet and piano lessons but eventually quit, finding them too challenging. The most vexing aspect of her personality is her insatiable desire for adventure, a trait she inherited from Mom, which leads her to pry into everyone's secrets. It also lead to an accident that happened when we were on camping from school.

Lost in the memories of our shared past, I was abruptly brought back to the present when Bella's head gently landed on my shoulder as she drifted off to sleep. I glanced at her peaceful face and let out a sigh. As tempted as I might have been to distance myself from the eccentricities of Forks and its vampire inhabitants, I had no choice. There was no way I would leave Bella exposed to danger alone.

Cullen's House (Alice's POV):

As we all sat in the house, each member happily engaged with their mates, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. Everyone had found their other half, except for Edward and me. The longing for my own mate intensified within me. Suddenly, a vision swept over me, revealing a boy and a girl walking hand-in-hand. Their connection was evident, though it didn't appear to be intimate. Instinctively, I knew that the boy in the vision was my mate. Oddly enough, I didn't feel any jealousy toward the girl holding his hand.

The vision shifted, and I witnessed the girl intimately kissing Edward. My heart skipped a beat at the sight, a mix of confusion and curiosity swirling within me. Then, the scene changed once again, revealing the boy engulfed in flames, skilfully battling vampires clad in black suits adorned with red markings. With each strike, he set the vampires ablaze, their bodies consumed by the fire. The uniforms they wore bore one unmistakable name: Volturi. The boy protected me from their attacks, even shielding me from the formidable abilities of Jane, the most powerful weapon among the Volturi.

Overwhelmed by the intensity of the vision, I sprang to my feet and raced out of my room, urgently calling for Esme. "Esme! Esme!" I couldn't contain myself, the excitement and urgency pulsating through me.

"What's the matter, Alice? Why are you shouting?" Esme appeared from her room, concern etched on her face.

"I just had a vision of Edward's mate and my mate! We're going to meet them soon!" I exclaimed, bouncing up and down with joy and anticipation.

"I'm thrilled for both of you to finally meet your mates," Carlisle remarked, smiling warmly at my excitement. Esme's wide smile mirrored my own joy, and she enveloped me in a tight embrace. I could sense her genuine happiness for us. However, my elation was interrupted by Edward, who held his head as if being pulled by an unseen force. He muttered to himself, "I can't see half of Alice's vision. Something is blocking me." His whisper caught me off guard, as if my mate was guarding his secrets, allowing only me to glimpse them. I chose not to divulge every detail, given this peculiar aspect.

Following my explanation of the vision, Edward interjected with his thoughts. "If they are human, I have no intention of condemning my mate to an eternity of suffering," he declared, dampening my excitement in an instant.

"Yeah, but I won't keep my mate apart from me. It will be his decision whether to turn or not," I responded, determined to honor his autonomy in such matters.
