A weird alien airship picked us up from the field. It was really a big aircraft, just like those games, where the aircraft dropped a hundred people to fight until the last man. It took us to some kind of isolated forest area somewhere far away from school.
"Alright, listen up," Our teacher began to explain, "You all already know the rules, but as a custom, I will go through the rules and basics again. You will be teleported randomly into the play field in a few minutes. You can either regroup or solo as you see fit. If the health meter falls below the red line, you're considered dead. Once you die, you're teleported to the base camp. And your weapons are non-lethal. You can not kill anyone with that no matter how many times you shoot or smash, but they do hurt like hell. Oh, and don't forget to put on your armbands. It will show you the leaderboard, number of allies, your HP, and opponents alive or dead. So, do your best out there, and don't make me too proud."
Everyone looked at me with a troubled expression after our teacher's final statement. That guy was nothing more than a nuisance, some day I'm gonna put him down in the playground and shoot him up with these non-lethal weapons, then he will understand how it feels to stand on this platform. I doubt that body of his can even endure a couple of blows.
Anyway, time to put my game face on. So, we can either team up or solo. But, tracking the allies down is a kinda risky move since we have no fucking idea who is lurking in the shadows. So, it's better to go solo for now, but judging by the faces of my teammates, well, I am 100% sure they will try to regroup and end up dying together like fools. Fiona is the only pro among us. And I gotta get the first kill if I were to win our bet. So, hide in the bushes and shoot with my sniper rifle and win the bet at least.
I wonder if I can morph my sniper rifle into some kind of armor like Fiona. We did pick up weapons from the same pile. Is there some kind of switch or something ?! I began to examine the weapon for anything that resembled a button or anything. Huh? What's this? "'5 seconds stealth," That's what the small label says, "The hell ?! Invisible mode!"' I muttered while everyone gave me an awkward look.
And there's that weird look ...
"'You clueless man," Fiona said mockingly, "Everyone knows it has stealth, noob," She added while rolling her eyes. "Feels op, right? 5-seconds invisibility every 10 seconds."
"Yeah, and ... " I tried to ask but Fiona raised a finger to stop me from talking as she began explaining.
"Look around you, why do you think none of them picked a sniper rifle despite the op invisible mode?" She asked like she was some kind of instructor or something, "I won't say the answer out loud, so use that head of yours."
What the hell is her problem ?!
"Lower ammo capacity,"' I answered her question. "No morphing function, so you have to carry it all the time, considering the weight, it's hard to run once your opponent closes in and that five-second stealth won't do any good if I can't run with such a rifle weighing me down," I stated as Fiona nodded while giving a half smile.
"Correct. And here I thought you're gonna make a fool of yourself and cry while asking me like an idiot, again," Fiona teased while pointing a finger toward herself like a child, "But I guess you really are an idiot or else why the fuck would you pick such a useless weapon that doesn't even have a silencer," she stated mockingly while tapping my sniper rifle with her finger, "Unless, you want them to find you first?"
I am fucked is what I would like to say, but I got a plan, well, somewhat stupid and fucked up, but hey, as long as it works, then why not. So, I decided to keep my mouth shut, since this bitch has nothing good to say ...
"Drop in 15 seconds," The alien who was flying the ship announced.
It's gonna start soon. So, let me quickly introduce the six members of my team ... It's Fiona Rael, the hotshot player in the first year, and we already know each other's abilities and personalities ... There's me, Jack ... Then there are my other four teammates:
A tall bald human-looking guy with blue skin and red eyes, who's named Michael, wearing the same suit as me, dude is carrying grenades, way too many grenades. A blonde human guy in a sleeveless black tank top with tattoos and a couple of knives and two small handguns is named Jonathan ... A redheaded girl with full black eyes, named Ann, wearing a dark red long coat that reached her ankles and a pair of handguns, is a decent shooter or so I remember. The last member of this team is a small-sized guy named Lewis. Well, calling this god knows which species he belongs to, a guy ... I don't know if he's a guy or a girl or some kind of ... Ahem! Let's call him he for now, yeah? Anyway, He was wearing the same tactical suit as Michael, only a black mask covering the face area and his feet were like that of a Komodo dragon's feet.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
The teleported activated. It sucked us in and threw us out into the field, leaving our teacher on the airship. I don't even know where the hell I am right now. Somewhere in the middle of a forest. Instantly, someone from Class: B shot a blue flare, well ours's red, so it was easy to figure out it was Class: B. The flares could be seen for 5 km, and we were all close to the starting area, so no need to run around to find them.
It could either be a trap to lure stupid players in and ambush them or they are really trying to regroup themselves.
The forest was littered with big and small trees and bushes, perfect for a sniper like me and my mini Hud visor thingy, that's only exclusive to sniper class, can help me in tracking them down and it also alerts me of nearby enemies within a certain range. I can see the places where I can potentially hide. It looks dope, if you ask me. Anyway, time to hide and move from one spot to another while keeping my eyes open and getting the first kill.
So, here I go, "Stealth mode on." The energy from the rifle swept over me and within a second I was completely invisible. I ran to the first hiding spot behind that huge ass blue bushy grass and then used the mini-map in my Hud to figure out my next move. The first kill is mine, Fiona, just you wait!
Suddenly, someone in my team began speaking via comm, "Yo, anyone there?" A familiar voice asked. I could recognize it from the way he talked. "Mike here, if anyone from A-class is out here then please respond ... "
So it was that blue bald dude Michael. Whatever, I closed off the comm and moved forward. It took a while to move from one hiding spot to another every ten seconds, but I reached a vantage point and a good hiding spot. A very big tree with blue and yellow leaves. If I manage to climb up to the top point that my visor is showing, I can almost cover most of the area around me with ease. My stealth wore out when I tried to climb and I almost fell down if I hadn't held on to the tree tightly, I could have ended up with a broken spine ... That would have sucked big time!
Anyway, I took a couple of deep breaths and climbed to the top where the thickest part was so that my tactical suit would finally shine. Those fools think sniper is useless because they have no idea what these exclusive sniper gears could accomplish with proper usage and fighting from the back isn't as cool as fighting up front in the limelight, but who cares as long as the job gets done ... Right?
And here I am. A bird's-eye view, well, at least the best I can get. The whole forest is within my sight. My suit has activated its stealth function, and now I can remain completely invisible as long as I am in this hiding spot, without any cooldowns or anything, and the suit doesn't feel any weight either, it feels as if I am wearing nothing and the weight of the rifle is nonexistent as well.
I aimed and looked through my rifle's scope, trying to find anyone from Class: B. If anyone from Class: B comes through this forest I'm going to shoot them in the head. That is what the headshots are for after all ... The body parts have the highest protection than any other area. What's that phrase from that Mass Effect game, oh yeah, 'Go for the eyes.'
