Chapter 24: Mystic Land (part 3)
The next day I and Barachiel went out of <Shamayim> in order to practice my healing skill, once we've exited, I opened my eyes to see I was standing on top of an altar together with Barachiel.

I looked around to see a beautiful mountain view, there were flowers of different kinds and I could easily feel the mana around here is quite abundant more abundant than the world I was in before.
"This place where is this?"
Barachiel smiled and started walking she then explained once we started walking.
[This place is called the 'Mystic Land' or 'Mystic World' if what you want to call it. Listen a long time ago the 'Mortal World' and 'Mystic Land' were once one, however, the [Will of The World] separated it]
My mouth gaped opened [Will of The World] I've heard of this before but why would it separate the world of <gods> and mortals.
[Well, you know that the 'pantheons' hate each other, there were many wars because of that hate, the ultimate goal of that war was to conquer the entire world. being the one and only 'pantheon' left... From what I've heard from Elder Sister Uriel due to the death of many <gods> and mortals, their souls condensed and became the [Will of The World], being like that the 'Will' had separated the two for peace to prosper]
I just nodded to her story then she stopped walking, I didn't notice that we've arrived in a village, the houses looked torn down and everyone was dirty, and there was one kid who was staring at Barachiel his mouth being wide open and in awe.
"Grandpa, the angel is here!"
I looked at Barachiel and thought 'didn't she just say that the world of mortals and <gods> are separated then who're those'
As if she read my mind she replied calmly.
[They are descendants of the mortals, who was caught during the separation, Metatron allowed them to seek shelter here in our territory, but we are not to help them with matters as how they live and how they seek shelter, only three times a week we can go here and give supplies]
While explaining some children approached her and me tugging on her sleeve

I looked at her pained expression and we were approached by an elder with a mighty beard he was short and stout, his beard was white.

They scurried away and started playing themselves, the dwarf looked at me and then talked to Barachiel.
"Nice, to see you again, Barachiel, and I see you brought with you a wandering soul."

I nodded and followed him, I observed him a little he wearing a sleeveless shirt that shows various scars on his arm, his right leg is gone and he was holding a cane to support himself, Barachiel then explained who he is.

I was furious to hear that but when we arrived at the storage room there was not but a shred of single evidence that food here existed.
"Hey, Old man, what happened here?"
"Listen here ya little shit, don't call me 'old man' just call me grandpa Gram, and each time supplies are given monsters would come to eat the food."
As he said that he pointed with his cane there was a huge gaping hole in the wall, grandpa Gram sighed, he knew there was nothing they can do and with the agreement with the angels Barachiel can't do anything either but instead, she was smiling.

Description; Time and time again beasts native to this world keep on attacking and ravaging the supplies of the villagers, you are now tasked to deal with them. 0/20 giant rats
Difficulty: A
Time limit: 3 hours.
Reward: gain the favor of the villagers.
Failure: you will not be welcomed by the villagers anymore, and lose some favor from Barachiel.

Barachiel then pats the back of the old dwarf and went out, she gave me a thumbs-up before leaving as well.
'So they dump the work on me eh, good thing Uriel gave me a steel sword before going here' I sighed at the thought, I checked out the hole in the wall that leads straight to a thick forest.

Then I sensed something amiss like something was watching me closely.

A giant rat tried to lunge at me but I quickly avoided it. my eyes seemed to glow as I activated my skill.

After checking my stats I became confident and plus it's only one rat, then they doubled, and then again until it reached the number 10.
"Fuck."
I cursed silently as I unsheathe my sword, the rats surrounded me and began pouncing on me. 'This'll be a good time to practice that skill'.

The rats that were on my body got blasted off as a golden aura surrounded my body, the rats didn't falter but instead pounced on me again, I swung my sword in a crescent manner, and managed to take down 5 of them. my arm ached as my muscles strained and bones crack.

I managed to kill 9 of them, but I need 11 more luckily I let one of them escape for me to go to their nests, I followed it managed to find it.
'Oh, my gods' I thought while in shock I see their numbers are over 30 and their house resembled that of a dead giant, I could still feel its mana even when it's dead. I jumped into the nearby tree in order to hide from them.

'BOOM' The sound of thunder resounded throughout the forest as the lightning hit the rats killing half of them in an instant turning into ashes, then another stroke of lightning appeared turning the rest into ashes.

I started walking back to the village, but I didn't realize I was lost.
"Shit." I cursed as I couldn't see where I came from, I ran and ran never feeling any closer than before, *pant* *pant*, I looked around and saw the giant and the ashes of the dead rats, I went there and sheltered myself in the mouth of the giant.
As I walked to the giant's mouth I looked up at the night sky, it was entirely different there 4 moons and that was smaller than the other, or is it because one is closer than the other. I reached the mouth of the cave it was big enough to fit a castle in it.
