Instead of practicing what Ralph taught me in order to cast the spell, I am going to make full use of the new ability I got and change the world.
Thanks to the man I killed I am able to see mana and mana is what makes up magic.
Thus, instead of having to perfectly mimic the hand movements in order to make sure that there is not one single mistake nor being incapable of speaking something, I am going to engineer the spell.
Since I got the ability to see mana Ralph was the first person to display a spell in front of me.
When this happened it was extraordinary.
I could see tiny molecular particles coming together and connecting to each other before forming to complete the spell.
So because I can see mana and I know how the particles move instead of creating spells I'm just going to use mana.
'I don't know why or how but it's become apparent to me that I don't have to follow the rules of magic that all the others do.'
'I am able to form things out of my imagination rather than form something based on gestures and words.'
'Due to this, I can have a lot more successes as well as failures because there is no mold for what I'm attempting to create.'
That was already proven when I attempted to transform my hand into a capsule for a flamethrower.
'So, here goes nothing for my first try,' I say to myself with overwhelming excitement.
Using the mana which forms in front of me I begin to move them in the same exact way that Ralph had displayed.
As they spin around and move about I realize that it is much harder than it looks.
It seems as if it's against their very nature to be contained.
Which confused me even more because if mana doesn't want to form how is magic a thing?
But questions were for later because I needed my plan to work, it had to work.
So as time flies by and the mana continues to circulate around me I don't get any closer to creating the spell.
Yet, I've been patient before and I won't rush something as great as this.
The complexity of getting each and every mana particle together is an abysmal challenge.
After spending hours just to get one singular particle to its needed position as soon as I move to another one the original breaks apart and does its own thing.
'Fuck! There has to be something I'm doing wrong,' I say to myself.
Thus, changing up my plans I decided that I will do the spell how Ralph taught me, then by winning the deal I'll ask for the reason why I'm failing.
So by spending the little time I had left till he returned I went over the movements and words.
"%*@"
"$+@"
"#$&"
"#¥@"
"#&@"
"Finally! I got it," I exclaim.
And it was at the perfect timing as well because Ralph just opened the door.
"Well, can you do it?" He asks.
"Watch," I respond.
Moving my hands to be as precise as possible I repeat the correct phrase, "#&@".
*foom*
"See!" I say as the same flame that Ralph created appears on my palm.
"Ha! You actually did it! And in just a full day's of work," Ralph said sounding impressed.
'Well, it was really only about an hour and a half since I spent most of the time experimenting,' Yet I don't say this aloud.
"You really are full of miracles. It took me two months to learn that spell and even that was impressive due to the normal amount of time being around three and a quarter months," He says.
'Shit, I'm bringing way too much attention to myself, I need to stop showing so many achievements in case Ralph tries to take advantage of me,' I say putting up my guard.
"Do I get my reward now?" I ask?
"A deal is a deal and I lost. Did you have something in specific you wanted to ask?" He questions.
"Yes! I know that mana makes up spells but how does that work and how it's it possible?"
"Well, it's actually quite simple."
"Mana is everywhere and it makes up everything, it's around us right now. So that explains how we are always able to create spells no matter where we are."
"But even though mana is all around us you don't see spells appearing out of nowhere do you?"
I shake my head no at this.
"That's because mana is its own force."
"Because mana belongs to everything in order to cast a spell you have to take mana from something."
"And this mana as if it had a mind of its own does not wish to be removed from whatever it belongs to."
"Which then explains why in order to cast a spell we need to chant the ancient language."
"Everyone no matter who they are need to do this as it's the only way to stimulate the mana and allow for us to move it and create spells."
"But some of us including me and you aren't as blessed as others and aren't more in tune with the mana around us."
"Because of that, we need to use hand gestures which act to help control the mana flow even more."
"Then there are the even more out-of-tune people which can't even use magic."
"We don't know why some can use magic and others can't or why some don't need to use hand movements. But it's the reality of the world and we just have to accept it," He concludes.
"What if someone didn't have to use hand gestures or speak to use magic?" I ask.
"Hahahahaha! That's funny!" He bellows as he almost collapses from laughter.
"Just pretend this is true how would that be?" I ask annoyed.
"If your fantasy was true which it isn't because it's impossible. That person would have to be so in tune with the world that they would probably be the world itself. They wouldn't have to barrow the mana from around them but one of two things world happen. Now, this is just speculation, but they would be able to take the mana and it would voluntarily go to them rather than resist. Or and this is just absurdly impossible that is not even worth me wasting the breath saying but, they would be able to create mana."
