Noah looking around let out a sigh.
'What a mess,' I thought to myself.
'All that pain and all that torture for this much power was so worth it. I can feel the darkness in my body coursing through my veins.'
'Because I had absorbed the demonic magic through my soul instead of my body and mind I can use it whenever and however I want at any point in time,' I said proud of myself.
'And most importantly without any consequence!' I said getting a dark smile as I was still surrounded by the remains of the villagers.
When dealing with magic you can only use it for a certain amount of time before you run out of mana. This is for every and all creatures including Noah.
However, with the use of forbidden demonic magic, a price must be paid to harness it. That was why it was outlawed and lost during the dark ages.
That price is one's life essence! Dark magic was too powerful, so powerful in fact that one user could change history. Thus a law of the universe was placed to take the life force of a person in exchange for the power of dark magic. That is why the people with an affinity towards darkness take over the body of other people so that the host's body breaks down while the demon can use his power endlessly before finding another person to leach on to.
Yet in Noah's case, he was the one and only being to absorb the demonic essence into his soul. Due to all people having white souls doing what Noah did would be suicide. Yet in his case the hatred that transgressed when he reincarnated caused his soul to turn black. So when the pathetic darkness from the demon was compared to the darkness of Noah's soul it was absorbed. The darkness being similar came together to form dark magic allowing Noah to use a fifth element!
As long as Noah has darkness in his soul he doesn't need to sacrifice anything because he could just get his supply from there.
Yet if you remember back to what Arkin had said you would know that Noah's soul was infinite meaning Noah can use dark magic however he wishes for as long as he lives!
But that's not all! That pathetic darkness from the devil was actually from the demon emperor! Being that no one had used dark magic for millennia the emperor himself went to take over Noah's body. So when Noah killed and absorbed his essence he actually got the most powerful form that there could and will ever be!
Now, Noah is equipped with the strongest most destructive magic there could possibly be and with an infinite amount at that. He could easily take over the world!
'B O R I N G. This was no fun. I wanted to be the strongest and now I am... what should I do now? This felt like a cheat. Sure I went through hell and got tortured for four years but... but... GRRRR this is so dumb,' I said to myself annoyed.
Noah achieving his only goal in life. Finally, completing the only wish he had was actually disappointed? He went through more than twenty years of hell on earth. Killing hundreds of people before being betrayed by his own brother and dying. Then being brought to a new world only to be tortured for four years after being born for no more than two weeks. And Noah was actually saying that it was boring?!
Any sane person that would hear this would be coughing up blood.
Yet Noah in the midst of his thinking didn't realize that many people were surrounding him.
*BANG*
After that everything went dark.
NAÏVE!
Five minutes beforehand in New Neviem, the people looked to the sky with stupor as they saw the skies split before dreadful darkness came crashing down in the nearby land.
Edward the current leader of New Neviem was signing documents just like he does every day when the event took place.
Him being a 169-year-old mage believed he had seen everything, yet he just witnessed something that he could not explain.
There were no records of the dark age on the planet and so all the information on dark magic was long lost and forgotten.
Mages who continue to cultivate their magic can live up to 200-350 years old.
Edward living a somewhat short life in the view of other mages had believed that he had seen all that the world could offer. Yet that very belief was broken when the sky itself shattered bringing forth a ray of darkness.
Him sensing an uneasiness about the situation sent all nearby personnel to check what was going on.
The nearest group being a ragtag squad of five people containing three men and two women set out to investigate.
They had just recently graduated from the mage military and had no experience and were a very weak team on the bottom of the pecking order.
Upon arriving at the scene they saw what they could only imagine being a less than five old kid surrounded by gore.
This kid was staring into nothingness while guts and a lake of blood from what they assumed were from tens of people encompassed him.
Instantly, one of the men's training kicked in, and thinking that the kid was dangerous sent a fireball at him.
One of the women on the team couldn't possibly think for a second that the boy was dangerous decided to use wind magic to stop the fireball.
Then she chanted and deployed a spell for a wind palm to crash on the back of his head to knock him out. Which was exactly what happened.
"YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HIM! What were you thinking? If I could knock him out with a simple wind spell your fireball would have blown him to bits!" She shouted.
"Shit... my bad," he replied rubbing the back of his neck.
These inexperienced and newly trained battlemages who had just graduated knocked Noah out cold with a simple spell to the back of the head.
That very being is now laying face down eating dirt, the one who was just complaining about how easy it was to become the strongest. Yet he just got one shot by an untrained mage.
"Secure the scene and check the boy's vitals while we wait for the backup to arrive," the female mage said as the other four members moved out.
"Yes, Captain!" They shouted all at once.
While everything mentioned before was true it wasn't the whole truth. Indeed Noah could take over the world it would just take him a good million or so years.
Noah's mind was indeed impenetrable even by grand mage standards. Arkin wouldn't be able to access Noah's mind as he had before. And brainwashing him was damn near impossible.
Everything said about Noah's body was also true. It's reformed and he has insane defense... except only to mortal damage. Noah cannot die to any man-made object that is magicless. However, when it comes to terms of magic he is as week as the four-year-old that he is.
It is also true that Noah can infinity use dark magic. Yet just like his other element, his control is subpar. Thus, going against the monstrous old mages that have lived for centuries he wouldn't be able to scratch them.
With their high defense, regeneration, and artifacts, Noah would die of boredom before killing everyone even though it's possible. Yet you also have to remember that they wouldn't just sit there and yet Noah attack them for years. With just a thought a master grand mage could end Noah's entire existence.
'Ouch, where am I? Wait. What the fuck happened to me? I thought I was immortal what kind of god did I piss off?' Noah thought when he finally woke up.
'Huh, I seem to be chained to a wall in a damn unground place.'
*BANG*
A man in a red and black military-looking suit comes barging in.
"Ah, you're awake want to tell me what the hell happened in the forest?" The man asked.
Noah had picked up a couple of words in his time spent at the village. However, he couldn't hold a conversation since he mainly spent his time trying not to go insane rather than learn a new language.
"No," Noah replied.
Silence.
This interrogator who worked in the army dealt with all kinds of messed-up people. Yet he was now tasked with getting a maybe five or six-year-old kid to tell him about the bodies of the villagers or what was left of them. And that very kid just told him no.
"Kid who the fuck do you think you are! We have multiple witnesses that saw you surrounded by the bodies of all the villagers. You should already be put to death! So if you don't start answering my questions I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" The man screamed.
"No," Noah replied once again.
*BANG*
The interrogator punched his fist into the wall causing it to crack and make his knuckles bleed.
"Look kid I don't want to have to torture-" The man was trying to say before Noah interrupted.
"No, no, no," Noah said shaking his head back and forth. He was tired of pointless torture and didn't want to have to go through it again.
Noah had no idea what the man was saying but when he heard the familiar word for 'torture' he instantly got tense.
*CRANK*
Another person came walking into the room.
"Leo what the hell do you think your doing coming into my room with the person that I am inte—"
The man who came walking in pointed at Noah before asking, "Is the sky blue?"
"No."
"Are you chained to a wall right now?"
"No."
"Am I a male?"
"No."
"Do you understand what I am saying?"
"No."
"Torture."
"NO. NO. NO. NO!" Noah shouts not understanding why so many people are obsessed with hurting him.
"The kid is malnourished, doesn't understand anything we are asking him, and reactions poorly to the 'T' word. He didn't commit any crime he is also a victim. You are relieved of your duties pertaining to the boy. He will recover in a hospital before we try to get more information out of him in the future." The man named Leo said before walking out the door as quickly as he came.
"Shit," the interrogator mumbled before also walking out the door.
A moment later a squad of military nurses collected Noah and took him to the nearest hospital. They gave him some food and water before placing him in a bed to relax.
When Noah's head hit the pillow he instantly passed out, finally getting his first good night of sleep in years.
