Chapter 12: To the Stars

"Are you sure we have enough supplies?" Pansy asked as she watched Kreacher load food, potions, and other things into the cargo bay of their Tel'tak.

"Yes, we have enough supplies for three months. And they are just in case something goes wrong. With the upgraded Hyperdrive, Praclarush is less than one day away," was the simple answer she received from Harry.

"Okay, and what do we need from that planet? Shouldn't we try to recruit some forces from a lesser system and build up our army? Maybe take over the world?" She asked, because that was pretty much what any Goa'uld would do.

"Hmm, sure, we could do that. But that is so predictable and would earn us the direct attention of the other System Lords, while the return of that strategy is quite small and slow. No, our first step should be to secure our current base, Earth, and earn an advantage. For that, Praclarush is the right place we need to travel to," Harry explained while closing up the hatch.

The upgraded transport ship only needed half a day to reach Praclarush, but during the last few million years, the planet began to die. "Are you sure that whatever you are looking for is still here, beloved?" asked Pansy as she looked at the burning planet.

Its host star eventually began to die, forcing the Ancients to abandon one of their oldest outposts in the Milky Way Galaxy. With the slow death of the host star, the climate and geomagnetic forces on Praclarush began to shift, causing volcanoes and earthquakes to erupt all over the planet, turning it into the ball of fire and lava it is today.

"Don't worry, it's here," Harry said as he initiated a scan of the planet's surface, bringing an exact analysis onto the HUD of the Tel'tak.

He and Pansy looked over it until he pointed at a spherical shape on the surface of the planet and said, "There, this is what we are looking for! It's shield-protected Taonas from being destroyed by the lava and instead formed a layer of molten stone above it."

"I see, and you expected this already. That's why you stole these strange Muggle clothes from the British military. They are supposed to protect us from radiation and smoke. Won't magic work better?" She asked, confused.

"They are Hazmat suits. And sure, we could use magic for it, but why waste our energy if we can use them instead? We will need our powers for something else," Harry pointed out. He knew that she was still prejudiced against non-magicals. Isis' view of humans as slaves didn't help in that regard.

Well, with Osiris' memories, he was now arrogant. But thanks to the knowledge of the Ancients, he understood how far humans could come and wouldn't underestimate them, keeping an open mind. It was clear to him that treating humans as simple slaves and suppressing them was a waste of resources.

But at the same time, he gained the paranoia of the Goa'uld, fearing a rebellion among his underlings. He would need to establish a new system in the future that would allow him to secure his absolute power while not suppressing the creativity of his subordinates for fear of a potential rebellion.

"What would we need our magic for?" Pansy asked, worried if she was about to head into a fight. They would be easy targets with these suits. Although their symbiotes were able to keep them alive for a while under the conditions of the planet, not for very long.

"There is an outpost of the Ancients down there. Why would we let the perfectly fine weapon platform of the Ancients, including the control chair, shield generator, sensors, and database, go to waste? We are in no rush right now. That's why I brought the storage trunks with us," Harry said with a smirk.

"Oh, that makes sense. So you plan to dismantle it? Is that even possible? Won't it begin to fall apart as soon as the shield is gone?" She asked, pointing out the obvious problem.

"Obviously, yes. Right now, the shield is deactivated. The outpost is protected only by the layer of frozen rock surrounding it. Its integrity will be destabilized as soon as we enter it with the rings," Harry explained calmly.

She looked at him as if he were an idiot. "See, that's what I am saying."

"Well, of course, as soon as we are in there, I will activate the shield again, stabilizing the sphere. Here is the plan: as soon as the shield is active, we can begin to dismantle the unnecessary systems for the stability of the outpost. This would be the sensors, the drone weapon platform, including the drones, and different pieces of communication technology. Then I will show you where the shield generator is and how to take it out. As soon as I remove the potentiator, you will be responsible for taking the shield while I dismantle the control chair. We need to be quick and won't have a lot of time. It's a matter of minutes before we have to return to the ship," he explained seriously.

"Okay, I understand. Won't the drones be dangerous?" She questioned him, looking into his eyes.

"No, they are dormant. They need to be activated through the chair first."

Pansy nodded. "Then let's get started. What are we waiting for?" she said as she pulled one of the hazmat suits out of the cargo bay. Harry put on the second one.

These hazmat suits were equipped with breathing apparatus, allowing them to survive under the conditions of Praclarush. Taonas was protected by the stone sphere and would be even more survivable for them. With the help of their symbiotes, they were not in much danger.

If something goes wrong, there should be enough time for them to return to the ship before they are at risk of death.

Once the suits were on, they used the ring platform to transport themselves through the protective sphere, landing inside the outpost. It was dark and smoky inside, with red light from the surrounding lava illuminating the outpost.

Harry didn't hesitate for long and directly walked towards the ancient control chair, activating the shield. The protective sphere was destabilized by the hole created from the rings, which was once again stabilized by the supportive pressure of the shield.

Pansy and Harry didn't wait long and began to work together. First, he opened the hatch to the drone launch platform. The two of them stored thousands of drones in the expanded storage trunks before they carefully disconnected the drone launch platform from the power source and dismantled it.

Next, Harry removed every system that could be removed without interrupting the workings of the shield.

Lastly, he removed the potentiator from the outpost, and the shield was lowered. Pansy quickly removed the shield generator while Harry hurried to remove the control chair. Storing every piece in their trunks, they hurried towards the ring entry point while the stone sphere was collapsing around them.

With the Kara Kesh, he remotely controlled their ship and activated the rings to transport him and Pansy back to it, with all the trunks filled with ancient technology.
