"What do you mean she is not here?!"
Hoseok stared at Xia, "I know her shift is on this day. Are you sure she is not avoiding me?"
Xia kept a straight face at Hoseok. "Her shifts changed and I am sure I am not hiding her in the back of the establishment."
Hoseok let out a defeated sigh, "Can you tell me for certain that she is at her other job?"
Xia smiled, "Yes, she texted me this morning. To say she is very sorry that she had to take up a shift at the animal shelter."
Hoseok's eyes brightened, 'Of course! Why didn't he go there first?'
He remembered Jimin telling him to go to the bookstore first, he was still oblivious to the fact of why he had to do this in a suit.
Jimin said, 'If she forgives you then you can take her to a fancy restaurant. He just had to let Jimin talk him into this one. "Thank you, Xia. I'll go there next."
"Anytime!" Hoseok left the bookstore, he checked his watch, he had to hurry they were almost closing.
He made it to the sanctuary as Carl closed up. 'Was he late?' "Carl!"
Carl turned around, "Hoseok?"
Hoseok bit his lip, "I am looking for Aya."
Carl cocked his head. "I haven't seen her all day, she texted me to say she was struggling to come to terms of what happened. And she will be at her favourite place to clear her head."
Favourite place? He always went to the beach to clear his head. Wait! The beach! He turned from Carl, "I have to go!"
Carl grinned and Gavin stopped at the gate with the car, the sun was already setting. Carl got in the car and Gavin asked, "Are you ready to give her away?"
Carl smiled at Gavin. "Yes, because this is her happy ending."
Hoseok tugged at his collar, it was hot at least the sun was setting, he got to the beach as the stars start to appear in the sky.
He looked up and there she stood with her back to him. His heartbeat quickened, he walked towards her and noticed out of the corner of his eyes that there were a random tent and a small wooden deck decorated with fairy lights. 'Weird.'
"Naui Cheonsa..." Aya turned around, she took a slight step back but he grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her towards him. He wrapped his arms around her, he moved an inch away and took his right arm from her back and used his right hand to lift her chin up towards him.
"Naui Cheonsa." He leaned in and claimed her lips in a gentle kiss. The whole world faded into the background, it was only them.
He pulled away and looked into her eyes, "I have missed you so much."
Aya smiled up at him, "I have missed you just as much."
He felt relief into hearing that, he opened he parted his lips to say something but Aya placed her finger on them.
"I don't want you to speak, I need you to listen." He gave her a nod. "We had this beautiful connection from the beginning when our eyes have met and we had our downs, but we have worked through that."
Aya removed her finger from his lips. "I know you haven't planned the Yue affair, I know who was responsible for it and we got to know each other better." She saw his eyes soften to pure love.
"It made me realise that I love you more than the stars that are looking down upon us and Hoseok, I want to be there for you more than anything."
Hoseok's smile widened, he couldn't believe it and here he thought she was still mad at him, he opened his mouth. "Aya, I love you and I never want to be apart of you again."
She took a step back from him and took his hands in hers. "Do you promise?" He squeezed her hands. "I do."
She silently laughed at herself, Hoseok didn't even look too closely at what she was wearing. "Hoseok, if you could marry me now, would you?"
Hoseok blinked. "In a heartbeat."
Aya inhaled, "Jung Hoseok, would you marry me here, where our love story began?"
She averted her gaze, her heart was thundering, she felt his hand cupping her chin and drew her face up. "Yes, I will."
She couldn't look away for his bright smile, his soft features and the eyes that drew her in the first place.
Before she could say anything else, Jimin, Namjoon and Carl walked towards them, looking smart in their tuxedos. Carl spoke first.
"Joh, love birds the food is getting cold. So let us get you married, yeah?"
Hoseok blinked as his eyes took in and everything snapped in to place. He looked back at Aya. "You've planned this?"
All she could do was give him a nod, he drew her back in for a hug. "Aya, you are one amazing woman."
Namjoon tapped Hoseok on the shoulder, "Come on." He and Jimin dragged him away from Aya.
Carl grinned at Aya and gave her the bouquet of flowers, he held out his arm which she took.
They walked to the small wooden deck, Hoseok was standing with Jimin on his left and the priest was smiling. Their few guests turned towards her and Carl as they made their way up.
Carl kissed her forehead and whispered. "Happy ever after." He made his way to Gavin.
She and Hoseok turned to each other, he parted his lips and mouthed. "You look gorgeous."
The words of the priest were fading to the background as they were gazing at each other holding hands.
"I do."
'You may kiss the bride.'
Hoseok and Aya leaned in and the guest started clapping. They walked down from the deck, she spotted Carl wiping away a tear.
She and Hoseok looked at one another, yes this was their happiness.
