Chapter 40

The phone rung for a few second, Aya was about to give up when she heard an excited voice.

"Aya?!"

"Hello, Hoseok." She was smiling when she said his name. "Am I disturbing you?"

She heard background noise, then a door closing. "You are not disturbing me, never. I am so happy you called."

"Y... You are?"

"Yes, I thought I was blowing up your text messages, I just... I just wanted to talk to you."

"Hoseok..." Aya's voice softened. "It is 1 am here I just finished talking to Carl when I saw your messages."

"I am sorry, I knew it was late you probably want to go to sleep."

Aya heard the disappointment in his voice.

"That I why I called, I wanted to hear your voice."

"Y...You did? Aya that, that means the world to me. I know we have a lot to talk about it is just I am so busy."

"I know and I wanted to tell you I am finally ready to..." Aya went quiet.

"You are ready?"

"I had a heartfelt talk with Carl, on what my problems are, so what I am saying is that I am ready to continue our relationship... Scrap that I...I"

Aya closed her eyes, she really was rambling.

"Aya please talk to me. I am here to listen."

Aya took a deep breath. "Before I continue, Hoseok what do you... Am I just a distraction to you?"

"What?! No, Aya you are not a distraction, I feel I have this deep connection with you, that is why I have been angry at myself that I almost compromised our relationship."

Aya clutched her phone tighter, was this a confession?

This was now or never.

"Hoseok, I always had trust issues after my relationship with Luke, I know this now, but with you, you make me feel like I am free-falling."

"I knew you had some issues, you were so open and trusting with me. I am sorry that I made it worse by lying about who I am."

"No, I came to understand that you had reason to do what you did. The more I thought about it the more I understood. Otherwise, how would you come to know if the person was real or fake with you?"

Aya heard Hoseok inhaling a breath.

"You made it real Aya, you are wonderful, every moment I have to spend with you, I have fallen for you because you saw me for who I am and not what I was."

"Fallen? Hoseok are you? Are you..." Aya couldn't get the words out.

"Yes, Aya I am in love with you, so much that I am free-falling. You are my light that shines brighter than all the stars in the night sky."

Aya felt her cheeks warming with tears, she didn't realise she was crying.

"Aya? I am sorry that was too straight forward of me."

Aya shook her head realising Hoseok couldn't see her, instead she answered.

"I love all of you Hoseok, you who make me feel loved, feel special and all the wonderful things that love describes. That is who you are to me."

"Aya..." Her name fell like a prayer from his lips. "When I come home, I am taking you on a proper date."

Aya chuckled. "Are you asking me out?"

"And what if I am?"

"My answer is yes, I would love too."
