Katie's Backstory (Part 1)

When Katie was 16, her parents kicked her out of the house because she refused to live up to their expectations. They didn't give her anything, besides the clothes she was wearing. No food. No water. No money. And even though she had her driver's license, she didn't have a car. She was all on her own.

She decided she would get a job. Once Katie was hired, she took double shifts.

Because she didn't have the money for a proper place, she lived on the streets. Nobody would take her in.

Fortunately, after many months of work, Katie earned enough to pay for rent at a small apartment.

She heard there were bad things happening near that certain apartment, but she didn't care. It was the cheapest one, and the only one she could afford.

Once she moved in, she realized she had no furniture.

Katie didn't have much, and what she had was for rent. She got another job.

She took double shifts.

Not enough money.

Got another job.

Took double shifts.

Not enough money.

Got another-

No. She was so stressed, she couldn't take it. She quit all her jobs, and with the money she had, saved it. She slept on the floor.

When Katie's parents kicked her out, She was in 10th grade. Now, it's summer break for the kids who go to school, and Katie is supposed to be going into 11th grade. But, how was she supposed to get education, with very little money, no job, no car, nothing. She moved out of her apartment, back onto the streets, and begged.

She would stand at the end of the road with a piece of cardboard that read,

"HELP. WAS KICKED OUT OF PARENTS HOUSE. NO EDUCATION AND LITTLE MONEY. NO WHERE TO LIVE. 17 YEARS OLD."

She got little to no money doing this. She tried to get another job, but she was disgusting. Hair was messy, clothes were dirty, no shoes, holes in socks, and her teeth were unbearable.

But one day, a man with a black hat over his face came up and handed Katie an envelope.
