Chapter 137

"Grand Admiral our Hyperdrives won't power up" Reported the Engineering Officer.

Grand Admiral Josef Grunger had seen that the Empire no longer had the Tactical advantage in the battle so he took it upon himself to pull his fleet out of the battle. But now he just learned that they can't even jump into Hyperspace.

"Why won't the Hyperdrives power, Just fix them" Yelled Grand Admiral Josef since after this battle was the perfect chance for him to seize power for himself.

He was sure that if he survives this battle with a sizable fleet he would be able to become the next ruler of the Galactic Empire since he was sure that Emperor Palpatine would not survive this battle. 

"I'll try my best Grand Admiral" Said the Engineering Officer as he ran off to try and fix the problem.

Meanwhile Emperor Palpatine was sitting in his Throne room inside of the Death star watching the battle unfold. But he didn't think that they would lose instead he was going to use the Death stars Main Weapon to obliterate the Terran Central ships.

"Grand Admiral re-position your fleet out of the path of the Death Stars Laser, We will destroy their central fleet and and Alderaan at the same time" Ordered Emperor Palpatine. He was not going to let the Terran Emperor mess up his plans once again.

Grand Admiral Nial Declann who was in charge of the Central fleet ordered the ships to clear the path. 

Meanwhile on the Emperor Class Star Dreadnought, Alexander was watching the battle unfold when he sensed a slight disturbance in the Force. He scanned the battle and noticed that the Imperial central fleet was re-positioning themselves out of the way of the Death Star's main weapon.

'It's too obvious' Thought Alexander as he looked out the window of the bridge.

At this time he was standing up directly at the front of the bridge close to the window watching the battle unfold. He was directing his forces as he saw fit but he left most of it to the Ship's captain.

His ship was at the center of the battle leading the way for the rest of the fleet. The Rail guns of his ship teared through the Imperial ships as his fleet advanced. The powerful Imperial Star Destroyers were just being decimated by the Rail Guns of the Terran Fleet.

Imperial Star Destroyer's shields weren't meant to defend against Rail Guns or Any Kinetic weapons at that so the ISD's were just getting taken down one by one as the Terran Fleet advanced forward. 

As Alexander was staring at the Death Star watching the Imperial Fleet re-position itself, Abeloth had walked up next to him since she had felt the same thing he felt and saw what the Imperials were trying to do.

"Shall I deal with this?" Asked Abeloth since she was tired of just watching that battle and she wanted to do something.

Alexander just shrugged his shoulders "Sure go ahead"

Abeloth stood next to him and waited for the Main weapon of the Death Star to power up.

As the Death Star's main weapon began to charge, Abeloth closed her eyes and reached out with the Force. With a swift motion of her hand, she disrupted the energy flow within the Death Star, causing a massive power surge that sent sparks flying across the control room.

The Operators were confused since the equipment all of a stopped working and electrical sparks appeared on some of the equipment causing some people to step back from all the equipment.

Emperor Palpatine was sitting in on his throne wondering why the weapon hadn't fired yet.

Until the Officer in the Weapon Control room had contacted Palpatine "Your Highness the control systems have malfunctioned and the weapon won't be firing any time soon" Reported the Officer.

Palpatine's face turned into rage as the incompetence of the Imperial Technicians caused the Main Weapon to fail. Or at least that's what he assumed. He didn't think that the Terrans could directly destroy their systems when they are not even on the station yet.

"If you fail me again Commander I'll personally come down their to deal with you" Threatened Emperor Palpatine.

He didn't wait to hear the Commander's answer and instead stood up from his Throne to watch the battle from the window.

He knew that this battle was lost and he couldn't win. So he ordered a shuttle to be prepared as he was planning on fleeing the battle and retreating back to Coruscant to bring together the full might of the Imperial fleet to invade the Capital of the Terran Ascendency and show them the true power of the Dark Side.

His Royal Guard escorted him to a hanger where a Shuttle was already waiting. From their he boarded a Star Destroyer which was in the back lines and away from the battle.

This Star Destroyer was the Personal destroyer of his Apprentice the former Nightsister whom he turned to the Dark side.

"Master we have encountered a problem which prevents us from Entering Hyperspace, But if we can get out of range of whatever is blocking Hyperspace travel then we can jump to Hyperspace" Said Darth Thess Emperor's Palpatine Apprentice who replaced Darth Maul.

"Our understanding of Hyperspace travel should be much more advanced then them since we too have a similar weapon" Said Emperor Palpatine now understanding just how much of a threat the Terrans were.

Darth Thess remarked, "Their strength and weapons are far superior. They can even penetrate an ISD with ease." She was emphasizing her observations.

"We will talk about that later have the Grand Admirals cover our retreat while we escape to the edge of the System and get back to Coruscant, Once we are gone they should retreat and rendezvous back at Coruscant as well" Said Emperor Palpatine basically ordering the Grand Admirals to use the other ships as Shields for his escape.

Darth Thess and her fleet of Star Destroyers retreated to the edge of the System where they would be able to Jump to Hyperspace.

Alexander had noticed them but didn't care since after this Coruscant was their next target. He already had a plan in place in case Emperor Palpatine used his head and retreated back to Coruscant before he could get to him.

So if that happened then he would destroy the Death Star and head straight for Coruscant to finish off the leadership of the Empire and it's top politicians.
