Chapter One: Ottawa, IL and her Last Defender

Tribal wars have broken out, forcing the Eagle Rock Clan to face their fears, Alexander and a few scouts have been sent ahead, trying to find a safe spot for their clan to survive. They have sustained heavy casualties and are running low on supplies.

"Alex, you will head to the statue, see if that area is safe."

"Chief Warrior, that's where..."

"I don't care, kill it, and take its power, become a warrior for our clan."

"As you say Chief."

Alexander crosses the "Great Bridge" and heads deeper into the small city. A wave of uneasiness fills him as he makes his way to the statue. The silence is unbearable, not a single noise, no animals, no wind, just uneasy silence.

With one wrong turn, he finds himself staring at the Ghost he feared. Unlike most ghosts, this one sprinted towards him, the sound of the boots hitting the concrete sidewalk sent chills up his spin. The Ghost knocked him out, and dragged him away.

Hours later, Alexander found himself tied up, stuck in an unfamiliar place. He almost let his guard down, till he noticed, there in the corner, watching him, stood The Ghost.

"Please don't hurt me!"

"Why are you here? Who sent you?"

"I-I'm here on a scouting mission..."

"ORDERED BY WHO!?" screamed the Spirit kicking over a small statue

"The Chief Warrior of the Two-Rivers Clan Eagle Rock! Please, I'm just in training!"

To Alexander's surprise, The Ghost lit a candle and sat in front of him.

"What is your name, to-be-warrior?"

"Alexander, son of the past Kalheim."

"Well Alexander, are you hungry?"

"Y-yes, very."

"When I come back, have some information for me, starting with why you are here, how many of you there are, and what it is you want."

Alexander sat there stunned, he had been spared for now, but to sell out his clan was unthinkable. He needed a plan and fast, The Ghost had only just left, and the candle was out of his reach by any means. However, why would the ghost feed him? If he's truly a spirit, he can't eat, nor would he need to.

Moments later, The Spirit returned with some dried meat.

"Eat, then talk."

Alexander nodded and ate the meat. It was salty, like nothing he'd tasted before.

"Well?"

"I-it's good. What is it?"

"Beef Jerky, something I eat."

"But you're a spirit..."

"Enough, answer my questions."

So Alexander told The Spirit just enough information to answer his questions.

"Hmm, so tribal war has caused your people to flee home, is that right?"

"Yes, they need me to report back..."

"You're too late, another tribe caught them, they are fighting as we speak."

"Then I must help them!"

"How are you going to fight an army, they have you outnumbered?"

"I-I don't know .."

"Then ask me."

"Ask you what?"

"Do you want me to save your people?"

"Y-yes, please, if you can do it!"

The Spirit cut the rope off of him and handed him his sword. "Go to your people, I will be there."

Alexander nodded and rushed to them. The Chief saw him cross the bridge and got him into the battle.

"Where have you been?"

"Getting help." He points over the bridge.

The silent ghost town has now become loud with the sound of something moving quickly toward the bridge.

The Enemy Warriors mount their defense as the noise only gets louder, and louder till they shake with fear...
