Underestimating the Americans

"Get into the bunker! Soldiers and Military personnel outside only!" yelled Daniel putting on his gear and rushing outside past scared civilians.

The Ghost, Madie and Liberty all return to the Fortress and join the troops.

"Run me the numbers."

"Ghost, we lost over 150 aircraft, and over a thousand people were injured from the Capital. This was a planned attack, not just some station falling out of the sky, they hit the capital on purpose."

The Ghost racked around into his EPS Rifle. "Look alive! They knew how to hit us, now we'll show them why that's a mistake!"

An army begins to descend on Fortress Americana, the Americans open fire. Liberty fires her laser cutting down a swath of trees and enemies in the way. Tank shells are returned to answer the American's fire. Except these tanks were different, they had no treads or wheels, they were hovering. One of which was equipped with a pulse cannon for its main turret. It fired at Liberty who activated her tesla coils absorbing the pulse. It supercharged her lasers; she then deleted the tank from its position with a MOAB.

"That Automaton is trouble, bring up the missile carrier, target the automaton."

The Americans and their automaton push out of their gates and take the fight to their enemy.

"Sir if we fire we risk hitting out own troops!"

"Fire that missile!"

The missile rises and takes flight.

"Warning, missile launch detected! All American personnel retreat to minimum safe distance." said Liberty as she assumed her fighting position.

"You heard her, fall back!" yelled the Ghost

The Americans fall back, and the missile strikes Liberty Bell. The explosion knocks both armies over, however, Liberty Bell stood back up. Her titanium frame had done its job and thanks to quick thinking, her ditched her MOAB pack which had caused the shockwave.

"That's the difference between America made and Japanese made." said Madie as the automaton opened fire marching after the retreating army. However, Liberty's movements had become more rigid, and stiffer. She had slowed down significantly, but she returned to the troops still functional. "Madie, get her inside and see what the hell kind of damage she's taken. All forces fall back to the gates. Nothing gets in, not even our allies."
