Star Spangled Contingency: Overlord
As the mixed fighter squadron of F-80's, C-123's and a single AC-130, make their way into the dead zone still miles from the barrier wall, it becomes clear they'll be up against all odds at trying to retake their homelands.
Alright everyone, tight up the formation. Alexi, have the Sea Monster ready to hop the barrier. Once we're all across, prepare to book it to Destiny Island.
Yes Overlord.
As the Caspian Sea Monster leaped over the ice barrier, the air fleet punched back through the barrier. The skies were dark and foreboding, however, the Strike Force was already blazing a trail back to Destiny Island.
I will use my tanks of Specimen X. Everyone else, prepare for landing. Once on the ground, weapons hot, kill anything that isn't us.
Roger that.
As the Caspian Sea Monster made landfall on Destiny Island, Russians, Germans, Irish and Japanese stormed the beach as if were D-Day. The few infected on the Island stood no chance. Clancy rushed to the control tower and flipped on the emergency power. The tarmac lights began blinking indicting to the pilots to land. As the Overlord and the other aircraft landed, they assisted in capturing Destiny Island.
This was too easy comrade.
I have a feeling that the Nazis who fled here weren't expecting us to come back here. Begin getting everything operation. Once we have established a base here, we will begin moving towards Island nations. Stay away from big mainland places. We know the Infected can't exactly swim, however, they can run, walk, crawl, and they are lethal. I want this place secured. Fences, defensive positions, the works.
As the Ottawa Restoration Strike Force began to fortify Destiny Island, the Overlord looked over the various maps Tempest had given him that the Ghost had made during his travels in the PBY.

Yes. Seems to me there is a place named "Paradise Island" in Ely, Minnesota. Might be a good idea to check it out.
Seems logical to me. What's the plan once we make it to the mainland areas?
I was meaning to talk to you about that. If we only take Island nations we'll run into a surplus of issues. The infected could easily retake those islands. What if we send the F-80's above the clouds and seed the Specimen X in with moisture in the clouds. That way every time it rains, it'll kill chances of new infected.
That's a good plan. Seeing as the Lots crew decided to come with you, I believe we'll make it work.

As you command Overlord.
As the F-80's take to the skies, Bubba watches them leave as the others who stayed behind begin building housing for everyone.
As the F-80's climb above the clouds, they split up and begin seeding the clouds with the tanks of Specimen X.
As the Overlord makes his way towards North American using the F-80's vastly improved fuel tanks and drop tanks, he sees jet streams in front of him.
Nazi fighter jets on me. I am engaging.
The Ho-229's were vastly outmatched by the F-80 Shooting Star but they had numbers on their side.
As the Overlord entered the dogfight, the six, nose mounted, .50 caliber machine guns chewed through the flying wings like they were nothing. However, one Nazi got off a few lucky shots and severely damaged the left engine of the F-80 Shooting Star. The Overlord began to lose altitude as he continued gunning down Nazi aircraft.
I can't allow them to stay in the air. If they reach the Island.... COME ON OLD JET! SHOW THEM WHAT IT MEANS TO FIGHT!
The F-80 pulled up and destroys a Ho-229. However, a Nazi ace is circling the injured F-80 and begins to chase it down.
Come on old girl, hold it together!
The Overlord plunges the jet into a full dive. The Ho-229 gaining on him as the altimeter reaches under a thousand feet. The Overlord yanks on the stick popping up left and right to avoid steams of bullets.
Meanwhile, two F-80's are trying to catch up with the Overlord as they cross into United States airspace.
Overlord, do you copy?
He's out of range Logan.
Back with the Overlord, the F-80 is managing to outrun the Ho-229. In a risky move, the Overlord lowers his plane to just two-hundred feet off of the ground. The Ho-229 eagerly follows him. Streams of bullets whiz past the canopy of the F-80. The Overlord barrel rolls the F-80 out of the way off a large overgrown tree while the Ho-229 slams straight into it.
That was a close one.
However, the left engine bursts into flames at two-hundred and fifty feet above the ground.
Shit... MAYDAY! MAYDAY! This is Overlord, I am going down. I REPEAT MAYDAY!
The damaged F-80 is coming close to the tops of the trees. In a desperate move, the Overlord pushes the F-80's nose towards a body of water. As the jet skims the water, the Overlord gets a view of where he is at, however, his is still losing altitude. As he dodges rocks and trees in the water, the F-80 plunges into the water, skimming across it and finally beaching it on a silty beach on an island on the water.
That... that was too close.
As the Overlord looks at his gauges, the air meter shows there is no Specimen Z in the air.
At least it's not airborne but where the hell am I?
As the Overlord pops the canopy open, the Island is surrounded by deep water on all sides. Looking at his map then at the Ghost's descriptions of the places, the Overlord comes to a conclusion as to where he is at.
So, this is Paradise Island, Ely Minnesota. Got to say Ghost, this place is exactly as you said. "Free of anything looking to cause me harm." Good find old friend.
As dusk sets in, the Overlord makes himself a hidden shelter and rides out the night.
