Chapter 94

* * * *

Rio walked past the saloon. He was dressed in his best jeans and a shiny black silk shirt with grey pearl snaps. He was ready for an evening of dancing—primarily, he hoped—with Mark. He’d never been on a date with a guy before. While this didn’t actually qualify as one because he was technically on duty—going to the saloon to make sure the guests had a good time. However, he was pretty sure this was what a date would be like.

Back at the barn after the trail ride, Mark and Rio had been alone. Sonny and his trail riders had finished with putting their horses up and Wade had still been in the arena giving lessons. All the while Mark and Rio had untacked and groomed the horses they’d hardly talked, but had frequently hugged and exchanged kisses and caresses.

Before they’d left the barn, Rio had asked Mark to go to the saloon with him that night

Mark had responded, “It’s a date.”
