Chapter 52

Lex hadn’t really thought about what he wanted, so just said, “Yeah, same for me, too.”

“And bring us another couple a beers, darlin’, if ya would.” Rio added.

The server nodded and left, but not without offering Rio another of her inviting smiles.

“So, tell me about it,” Rio probed.

Another deep breath and Lex told his tale of the previous night, how he’d misinterpreted Trent’s actions, and how Lex had tried to kiss the guy. He ended with, “You think Trent might be gay, too?”

“Yep, pretty sure he is,” Rio replied matter-of-factly.

Not bothering to pursue the question of how Rio seemed to have some way of knowing whether someone was queer or not, Lex verbalized the biggest question on his mind. “Then why did he blow me off?”

“Ain’t the question really why didn’the blow ya off?” Rio said with a chuckle.
