"Right this way, Miss Tessa," said the attendant.
Taking a right turn, Tessa arrived at the room where the three men were hospitalized. Hiding her disdain, she stared at them, all bandaged up.
"They're still alive?" asked Tessa.
Looking at the heart rate monitor, the man beside her quickly confirmed they were still breathing.
*Rumble*
Abruptly, the hospital building shook tremendously; precisely, an earthquake had just occurred.
"What was that? An earthquake?"
Not bothering to answer, the man, Tessa moved towards the window and checked outside.
Judging by how cars were parked disorderly, the quake wasn't confined to the building. And seeing there wasn't one bit of crack on the floor, she guessed it wasn't an earthquake.
"Get me some anaesthesia," said Tessa.
As soon as the man left, an old woman appeared from the shadows.
Her voice came out weakly, and her face was wrinkled, with a tattered robe and a stick.
