"Shoot, shoot, shoot!" I muttered, feeling the rush of fear and panic roll through my soul. "How close are we to getting away?"

Devin didn't answer. He was focused on trying to get us down this bumpy rollercoaster of a mountain. "Incoming!" Andre shouted, which a huge combustion of dust from in front of us lunged for the window.

Devin swiftly moved out the way, as we were still heading towards level ground.

"Can you shoot their tires?" Devin asked. Andre responded, "Yeah, I should."

"Why didn't you do that a long time ago?" Brie asked, which Devin heard and interpreted to Andre. "Because they keep shooting these lightning bolts or something at us. These guys are hundreds of years ahead of us in weapons!"

"Shoot at them as much as you can. I'm going to save us," Devin said, looking back at us. "I'm gonna save us Brie."

Why did he specifically—you know what—not the time.
