Chapter 18: Cleansing

A half an hour it has been since Owen left Emily at the gym. Worried if his friend felt safe, Owen stood watching Alex chant, "Oh my lord, give me the strength to fight this dark spirit so that I may oust this dark entity from the vessel it bound itself to."

Alex's hands started glowing with a bright light. He put both hands on Dave's remaining hand. He looked up.

"You three better be ready, because he is coming out," Alex said.

"You heard him guys," Ted said loosening his shoulders up, getting ready to fight yet again.

"Damn, back at it already. Is our job never over," Mikka said while stretching.

"You know how this goes Mikka," Len said.

Mikka then turned toward Owen and winked.

"Watch and learn little boy," Mikka said.

They then all drew their green, transparent weapons that came from their arm and waited. Alex then grunted.

"It seems hard to get out, damn. I hoped it was weaker...," Alex mumbled to himself. Alex then shut his eyes.

"Damn, Damn, DAMN!!!," Alex yelled. "This is gonna be close. I'm gonna have to do this the hard way. When he comes, he will be really powerful so be on your guard!!"

The Spiritual Priests got ready for when the exorcist pulls out the dark and troubled spirit from his grip on the man with one arm. Frustrated that he couldn't pull out the spirit, Alex then slammed his hand directly in the middle of Dave's chest. Dave then let out a screech.

"I got you now, demon spirit," Alex said. His hand then started glowing white as he started to chant, "let the light of god vanquish evil"

"Let the light of god vanquish evil"

"Let the light of god vanquish evil"

He then started yelling it. Louder and louder and louder and louder, until he was screaming it. He then slowly raised his hand. Higher and higher. The spiritual priests got ready to attack the spirit.

He lifted his hand higher until it reached the top of his head. There, in between Alex's hand and Dave's chest was a black, cloudy, floating entity. It had a face that looks as though it was made from plastic, yet not. It had red lines going down its cheeks and black, swirled horns on either side of his head. Owen's gut was churning. He was scared. Terrified. He couldn't move. The spirit seemed to stare at him directly. Owen's heart sank. He felt himself back up slowly. Trent looked at him.

"What is it?," Trent asked.

"T-that thing...I-its not human...," Owen said.

"Of course its not, dumb-ass. That's a demonic spirit. It feeds off human life," Trent said.

"That thing hurt all these people and it was going to kill me," Owen said. He felt as though he was going to throw up. He cupped his mouth with his hands. Tears started forming in Owens eyes.

"Oh, shut up!," Trent said, "he threatened all of us. Suck it up. You will face way worse than this eventually. Whether you choose to live or die is up to you, but I'm going live. What will you do?"

Owen looked at Trent. In disbelief at what he just said, Owen stared at him.

"H-he doesn't terrify you?," Owen said.

"You dumb-ass, of course he does, but I'm not going to just sit here and cower in fear at someone who threatened someone I care about," Trent said. "If you want to protect her...stand up and fight like a man!!"

"Fight? We can't fight. We would die against something like that. I have never fought...anything before," Owen said.

"...neither have I...well not a demonic spirit, but a spirit is just a spirit," Trent said.

"But isn't this different?," Owen said.

"No, dumb-ass. It's still a spirit. Now get up," Trent said.

Owen stood to his feet.

"Now you either watch, or you cry like the worthless sack of crap you are," Trent said to Owen.

Owen sighed.

"Ill watch, okay?" Owen said

"Jerk," Owen said with a grin.
