Spirit Orbs : Chronicles of Ra'as

Check out my new novel, My Mech System, it's way better than everything else I've ever written, hehe. ********* A twist of fate or more like an unexpected turn of events send four individuals on a journey across the realms of Ra'as, a world of superpowers and extraordinary individuals. An adventure that will put them against powerful foes and will enable them uncover the secrets behind the real origins of their world is about to begin. Unknown to our protagonists though is the fact that the threat of war looms over the Planet Ra'as with several factions getting into a struggle for the possession of the omnipotent device known as the Spirit orbs. An epic tale of love and loss, pain and suffering, despair and revenge awaits all those willing to embark on this adventure with our protagonists. *********************** Voting for my novel with power stones is greatly welcomed. Please vote for my book. :) Also add the novel to your library if you are enjoying it. :) Thanks in advance. Currently on hiatus... :)

Markov's revelation

"What do you mean by you knew my father??"

Sai asks with tension starting to build in the room.

"Yes. I knew Ean Kisoka, your father. I would be willing to tell you all about him and explain everything that I know to you but I will need you to calm down because the man that you are saying abandoned you and never even bothered to raise you is actually a good man who knew how to take care of his responsibilities."

Markov remarks with Sai disagreeing with him as he sighed and looked away for a moment before speaking.

"Tell me."

Markov nods his head thankful that Sai had agreed to hear him out.

"Before we begin, how about I make you a cup of coffee to relax your nerves."

Markov remarks as he gets up from his chair to pour Sai a cup of coffee though Sai actually tried protesting before reclining himself to his fate.

"Your father was one of the best operatives our branch ever got at that time. He was hardworking, dedicated, disciplined, meticulous and he always got the job done. Funny enough when he first came to apply for the exams, no-one actually expected him to pass, classic underdog story if you ask me; always made fun if by the stronger candidates, didn't exactly have a standing team so he got lumped into a team with Yakob and I as his partners as we had come as a duo to the exams. At first I and Yakob didn't exactly get along with him but with time we came to acknowledge his person. I mean there was no way we couldn't acknowledge someone like that, his work ethic and values were such that even a killer would have to respect him, he worked hard and came out on top in the final exams, I mean he was basically the reason I and Yakob passed the final exams then, we came to rely heavily on him as he came to be seen as one if the strongest Weaponmasters that our realm ever produced."

Markov chuckled as he recalled the memories.

"He sounds like a good man."

Sai commented half heartedly.

"I know you don't mean that, to be honest he had wanted to leave the D.O.D when he found out from your mother that she was pregnant with you. He was ecstatic at the prospects of becoming a father but then fate is not always what we want it to be."

Markov remarked as his happy mood soon died out to give birth to a more solemn look.

"What are you talking about??"

Sai asks as he notices the change in the atmosphere of the room.

"I'm talking about your father's disappearance. I never expected it to happen but it did and I can never forgive myself for knowing that I had a hand in his disappearance."

Markov replies as he begins to lament.

"Wait what??... You had a hand in his disappearance??"

Sai asks as his interest peaked.

"Please do forgive me, I never meant to send him on that mission. I just thought that it would be a quick in and out."

Markov laments even further as his stately demeanor became a mess.

"I'm gonna need you to come out straight and tell me what the hell you are blabbing on about!!"

Sai yells as his patience reaches an end with regards to the topic being discussed.

"It was a year after you were born, at that time I was working as an adviser to the higher ups in the D.O.D because I felt unfit for outdoor missions or combat even. Your father at that point was one of our most decorated operatives and was planning on handing in his badge so he could retire and gave ample time to raise his son. The higher ups didn't like the idea of losing one of their best officers just like that and so decided to send him on one last important mission to milk as much as they could from him. At first they approached him directly to go on the mission but he out rightly refused saying that he was done, so they decided to use me to convince which I did because I saw no reason why he should leave the force to take care of his child, I guess I wanted him to stay so I succeeded in convincing him to take up the mission although he was extremely reluctant to do so but I wish I didn't because three months later and we lost all connections with your father, we tried looking for him but we never had any luck. Till today I blame myself for letting him go on that mission, even Yakob blames me which is why we are always at loggerheads with each other now even though we were once a team."

Markov finally feels relieved as he revealed everything he knew to Sai but the latter wasn't looking so happy as he stood up from his chair abruptly after a few minutes of silence to digest what he had just heard.

"I'll be leaving now."

Sai begins to walk towards the door with Markov calling after him but he didn't turn back as he finally reached the door and slammed it after he had stepped out.

"I shouldn't be surprised, he has every right to get angry…"

Markov trails off as he falls back to his chair.
