5 Chapter 4

Tears fell off her eyes as the emperor rained abuses on her, Cai Ruolan was asked to kneel at the throne room. She found all what happened very strange because they were not the first men to touch her.

Take Wang Muchen for an example, he taught her archery and while he does, he would have to hold her hands and show her how to properly fix the bow on an arrow. They even sparred together, and on Wang Eumeh’s funeral, he had hugged her. But he was still alive and strong. Was it because he was a brother of her nanny?

All the emperor’s consorts, concubines, and children were present as they watched her weep silently.

The emperor paced around the room, he would seat and stand up from his throne, lost in deep thoughts. He wondered if he should just order the guards to kill her.

“I knew you are up to no good, otherwise why would you leave your palace?” empress Hu Melien screamed as she looked at her as though as she was a piece of shit.

“Exactly your majesty” royal concubine Weici added in support.

She only hated Cai Ruolan because she was more beautiful than her daughter Cai Suyin.

Cai Yichen shook his head in disdain. “What a disgrace to the royal family! I don’t know why she enjoyed bringing shame to this prestigious family” he turned to his father. “Father, justice must be done. I indeed pity the families of the two dead men, and the fact that she is a member of this family wouldn’t stop us from passing out our judgement” he said confidently.

He was secretly glad that such an incident had occurred, he had been hoping for the day his father would ask Cai Ruolan to kneel or the day she would be killed.

“No father!” everyone turned to see who had spoke.

Cai Yichen especially, rolled his eyes. “You will always support evil” he hissed at his elder brother.

Royal concubine Weici spranged to her feet, “A murderer must be murdered. It’s an eye for an eye” she shouted, all her veins popping out of her forehead.

“Please concubine Weici, don’t go too far” royal consort Xia stood up, she glanced at the girl kneeling down.

She was also the only one who cared about her, but ever since she overheard the maid servants speaking about the curse that the emperor laid on his daughter the day she was born, concubine Xia stopped acting kind towards her.

It was clear that no one wanted to die, the first person who tried had became a warning to others.

“Your majesty, the girl wouldn’t do that on purpose. Please don’t kill her” she bowed slightly before seating down.

Empress Hu Meilien glared at royal consort Xia in hatred. “Of course you must support your son, you have eyes but you don’t use them to see what’s right, you only uses them to see wrong things” she spat.

“My mother is right your highness.” Crown prince Cai Daoming said politely. “Was she carrying any weapon with her? It is clear that someone has cursed…”

“Silence!” the emperor shouted while taking his seat. “I’m the one passing the final judgement”

Everyone opened their ears, empress Hu Meilien was sure that the emperor would want her killed, except if he’s trying to be merciful which is ninety nine percent impossible.

“I would have ordered you killed brutally Cai Ruolan, but I have to give it a second thought. If not for Mo Cheng who spoke the truth about how the men died, you would have been burnt to death.” He paused. “You will be under house arrest for two years starting from now. Now get out of my sight”

Cai Ruolan wiped her tears with the edge of her sleeve then slowly stood up to get out of the throne room.

“There she goes, as ugly as a witch” Cai Tianai laughed, her siblings also broke into laughter.

The emperor dismissed everyone out of the throne room and sat down to think.

The devil from Huexiang wanted one of his beautiful daughters. The ugly thing wanted one of his beautiful daughters hand in marriage.

Emperor Cai Huateng would have objected in the first place because he wouldn’t want to give out his angels to the mysterious devil. But he also wanted to be close to the most powerful empire, and that can only be done through marriage.

Huexiang was the most powerful and wealthy empire, ruled by the powerful emperor Xie Mingze.

‘Yes, he’ll get married to Cai Ruolan, she deserves to die and so does he’ he smiled to himself. He could already imagine how they’ll both fall like trees after touching and seeing each other.

‘It might probably be in my presence’ he said to himself.

He would discuss the matter with the generals and other aristocrats and he was sure that they will be in full support since they also don’t like the crown prince of Huexiang.

In the end, he’ll still be partners with Huexiang while the two evil couples will die after seeing and touching one another.

Cai Ruolan should be informed about her marriage.

“Prepare her, she shall be leaving with the crown prince! “ he told the maid servants.

After they left, he laughed to himself again. ‘More like prepare her, she shall be going to meet her mother where ever she is!’
