Anthony's Weapon

Hunters.

They are a group of people that are trained to hunt down other witches and even kill them with the direct order of The Council. They specialize in combat and weaponry and dress in all-black clothing with shiny metal armor. Regular people to them are nothing and can get away with anything by having The Council back them up and covering their tracks.

Wes looks back to all of us, "Everybody, get ready here they come!"

"Do we have any weapons in the house to defend ourselves?" Shouted Anthony.

"I do have some, but that is if you can make it inside to find them. By the looks of it, they won't give us the chance to run inside to get them."

Before Wes could finish his sentence, Anthony had sprinted off towards the house, "Where the hell do you think you are going, you coward?!" I yelled at Anthony, but he did not stop to even respond. How is he going to run away when he was the one who started this?

From the corner of my eye, I saw Bryanna still shaking in fear as the hunters were closing in, and Mathew stood behind them with a smile on his face.

"It seems as if your so-called 'friend' ran away with his tail between his legs! And he had the audacity to challenge me! What a waste!"

I will not let them get hurt.

I stood next to Wes, "I guess that it is time to go werewolf."

"No, not just yet it wouldn't be wise to do so since you still can't control yourself, and they don't know that you have that ability yet, so let's save it for now."

"So, what's the plan on taking these guys down?" I asked Wes.

"Run!"

"I'm sorry, but did you just say run?"

Wes, still facing forward, nodded his head.

"Are you telling me to run or for all of us?"

"All of you. I will stay behind and bind you some time."

"No! There is no way that I am going to let you stay here and fight them off by yourself!"

He finally turned to look at me with a cold stare, "You must protect the others. Now go!"

I couldn't just leave him… he is my godfather! I would be failing if I cannot be here to help him.

What do I do?..

"I am not going to tell you again, leave and protect the others, or are they not your priority?"

He is right… I want to protect… her…

I looked down at Twili who was staring back at me and nodded her head, "Let's do as he says."

I rushed over to Rae and Bree, grabbed them both by the hand, "Come on you two!"

"Where are we going? And what about Wes?!"

Without turning around, I told Rae, "Away from them, or do you prefer to stay back there and keep them company as well? Besides, Wes can take care of himself!"

I hope so… I feel terrible about leaving Wes behind. I know he told me to do it, but I just can't shake this feeling of abandonment.

Where the hell did Anthony run off to? He should have never run off! We needed to stick together at a time like this.

We made it inside and Rae quickly yanked her arm to let go of me so she could shut and lock the door as soon as Twili made it in.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"Making sure that they can't get in here."

"I don't think that a locked door will stop them from getting in."

I looked over my shoulder and saw that Bree was still frozen with fear. This isn't good, not at a time like this!

"What are we going to do?"

"Find and grab anything you can to try and defend ourselves with," I told Rae.

"Help me find stuff," Rae told Bree, but she stood there motionless. "What is wrong with her?" She asked me.

"It was a bad experience with one of the hunters, they were dating if you could even call it dating."

Rae walked up to Bree and started to shake her, "Snap out of it! We are in danger here and we are about to get killed!"

Still, no response from her.

Rae pushed Bree out of the way, "Fine! Stay scared! Just stay out of our way! If you want to die, that is fine! But you should do it by yourself and not with us!"

"Don't be so hard on her! You do not know what she has been through!"

"And you do?!"

I nodded my head, "she told me everything and if I get the chance, I want to rip that guy's heart out for what he did to Bree. I would do the same for you if you were in that same situation!"

"Well good! Because I or we, are in that situation right now, and there are a bunch of hunters outside the house that need their hearts and any other organs or limbs ripped out of them!"

We heard thumping noises coming from Wes's room and we all stood still without making a sound in the living room.

"No! This won't do!"

I slowly started to walk to Wes's bedroom.

"This won't work either!"

I popped my head into the room to find Anthony tossing and throwing books out of Wes's black wooden trunk he had in his room.

This is where he has gone!

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Trying to find a spell book that will let me use some super cool and powerful spells so I can wipe out all of these hunters in a single hit."

"Your eyes are going to start burning again. Remember what happened last time."

"Crap! I need to get permission from Wes." He tossed me a book, "He has given you permission, to read his spell books! Find something badass to take them down!"

I looked down to stare at the book in my hands and remembered what Wes had told me about never being able to learn magic…

I tossed the book on top of Wes's bed, "Even though he gave me permission, a lot of these spells require time and practice to be able to perform. You are better off trying to do it yourself when you get his approval, he is still outside with the hunters if you want to ask him."

Anthony jumped up and looked out the window, "I think that I will wait to ask him, he looks kind of busy."

"Scary cat."

I didn't want to tell them the truth just yet… I looked at the spell book again that I had thrown on top of Wes's bed.

Maybe… I could do it if I tried. But what if I am wrong and Wes was right? He has to be right, what would Wes gain by lying to me…

I reached for the book when Anthony broke me out of my trance.

"Look! Wes is running into the woods and some of the hunters are following him."

I shoved Anthony out of the way to have a look for myself.

He is trying to be a diversion to give us a chance to get out of here.

From inside the house, we heard Mathew shout out to the remaining hunters, "Burn the house down! They either burn to death or get smoked out!"

Noooo!!! Not again! I won't let a repeat of what happened to the last house happen again here!

"What are we going to do?" asked Anthony.

"I don't know."

"We need to call someone! The Police or proper authorities!" Rae told me as she ran into the bedroom.

I answered her sarcastically, "And tell them what? A bunch of monster hunters that work for a council of witches is trying to kill us for being rouge witches? I highly doubt that they will believe us!

"Or they could be working alongside them," Anthony said.

"Oh no! You really think so?!"

"I don't know for sure," I told her, "All of you go and hide somewhere and don't come out until it is all over and safe. I do not want to lose either of you."

"But what about you?" asked Rae with concern.

"I will be fine. I can hold my own ground, but I need all of you to stay out of sight and take care of each other while I try to handle this."

I walked up to Bryanna and placed my hand on her cheek, "I will not let him or any of them hurt you ever again as long as I live."

My words must have brought her back to reality because once again I saw the light return back into her eyes.

Rae ran up to me and hugged me tightly, "Please don't die."

"I won't."

Rae let go of me and grabbed Bree, "Wait! Let go of me!" She shouted at Rae.

Bryanna stared at me as if I was going to stop Rae from forcefully pulling her away.

"Please don't do this! No! Paul! You will die!!"

"I have to… for all of you, I would do anything."

I looked down at Twili and patted her on the head, "Go with them and please protect them."

"Rae is wrong." She said, "You won't die, because of the wolf inside of you. Use the wolf's power to help you in this fight."

"If it were only that easy. I can't even control it yet and I am afraid to run ramped and end up hurting any of you."

"Don't be afraid." And with that, Twili ran after the girls.

"You should go with them as well."

"And leave my best bud behind?! No way!" Anthony replied.

"Hurry up and kill them already! I want to hear them scream—"

Cries coming from a hunter who was running out of the woods interrupted Mathew.

"Boss! It was a trap! He trapped all of our men and they can't escape!"

"I knew I should have run off with Wes! He has all the fun!"

"How the hell is being chased by assassins' fun!" I shouted at Anthony, the nerve of this guy.

The hunters stopped their advancement to the woods as glowing bright lights came from the direction that Wes headed into.

"We will get them later! For now, get the ones inside the house!" Mathew ordered.

"But what if they also set a trap for us?" asked a hunter.

"YOU ARE A TRAINED HUNTER! GET IN THERE AND GET THOSE LOW-LEVELED WITCHES!!"

His men seemed more worried than anything and proceeded to approach the house with caution.

I wonder what the hell Wes did in the woods…

"You think that we can handle them?" asked Anthony, who was still looking out the window.

"I don't know. We still need to come up with a plan on taking these guys down, and I can't come up with anything."

That was when I heard a shout coming from around the corner of the house, "That's it! Chase me, you dumb bastards!"

That would be Twili running around in the front yard with a trail of men chasing after her.

"You are supposed to be protecting the girls! What the hell are you doing running around here!" I shouted at Twili.

"They saw us leaving through the back yard and the house was surrounded, but not no more!" Twili shouted back.

Mathew's expression was priceless, his jaw dropped, and he was in disbelief.

"THE DOG IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT WE ARE AFTER! GET THE PEOPLE AND STOP CHASING THAT DAMNED ANIMAL!! WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME? I'M TALKING TO YOU!!!!" Mathew shouted in anger as his men continued to disobey him.

"This gives me an idea."

"What are you talking about?" I asked Anthony.

He grabbed the very book I had thrown on top of the bed and hopped out of the window.

"What the hell do you think that you are doing?!" I shouted at him.

"Performing a spell!"

What is he talking about?!

"Twili!" Anthony shouted, "Bring them my way!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah! I have a plan!"

Anthony stopped in his tracks and brought the book up to his chest. He waited for Twili to bring them closer and opened the book. When he did this, the hairs on my skin stood on end, and felt a slight tingling running down my back and a smell of what was to me, chlorine.

"Wait! Don't read from the book!" I shouted as I ran towards him, "Please stop!!!!"

Vibrating, buzzing, and Crackling noises were all I could hear when suddenly a flash of bright white light appeared.
