Vulnerability

I am currently ill. It has been a while since I last fell ill. Because of <Spirit > my body was always in peak condition. But overusing it made my body susceptible to weaknesses.

When I canceled <Spirit > my body succumbed to the new environment. My immune system had become lazy, so I got a very bad fever.

I fell asleep on the sofa and after regaining consciousness, Hazel was looking after me. After passing out for the second time, I feel even worse.

My internal temperature is rising. It has already gone past 40 degrees Celsius. My organs are screaming. My stomach feels empty and my heart feels really heavy.

Was it this heavy? Because I didn't have my heart for a while, I had forgotten the feeling of having a heart beating in my chest.

I summarized all of this in my sleep. Now I try to open my eyes.

As expected it was hard for me to do it. But with enough strength, I managed to open my eyes again.

An unfamiliar ceiling. I think I am still at Fay's house but where? I was in the living room. But where am I?

"Honey, you woke up!"

A voice came from the side. Judging by the tone of it, it was Aura. So it's Aura now.

I try to look to the side but my neck is stuck. I can't look to the side.

"Don't push yourself. Your fever is getting worse by the minute." (Aura)

"This…sucks."

I had a hard time speaking as well. My throat is parched. It's hoarse and it hurts.

I can't breathe through my nose either. This is really bad.

"Fay has gone to fetch a doctor. But considering our situation, a doctor is hard to find. But Fiona gave her an address and she left like a hurricane." (Aura)

"I..see. My..continuous use…of <Spirit > did..this to…me. I'll need…a while…before I am….back to normal."

"Don't speak. You are straining your body again." (Aura)

I felt my blanket move. Judging from the shadow, Aura entered the blanket.

"Come and sleep again." (Aura)

She pulled me towards her and hugged me. He body temperature is lower than mine. Her skin felt cool.

She clung to my body and I could feel the coldness.

It wasn't bad. Oh shit, I am passing out again. Cold is an enemy, I guess?

Due to her clinging to me, my body temperature lowered and I fell asleep.

(Aura POV)

My husband fell asleep as soon as I hugged him. His body is burning. So I think our temperature difference was comfortable for him.

I look at his sleeping face. This is the first time I am seeing his sleeping face. Because he would always get up before me. I never got to see his sleeping face.

Looking at him, he just looks like a normal 18 year old teenager. His face is pale due to his fever.

His body which is normally sturdy is currently limp. All of his strength has left his body. I have never seen him so defenseless.

Our meeting wasn't a good one. I barely remember it but he suddenly came in front of me.

I had just given birth to Eden and was very weak at that time. He came in front of me and beckoned me.

Looking into his eyes I understood. He was there to fight with me. Before giving birth to Eden, I was always picking fights with others. But after I became a mother, I changed.

I felt that he won't harm Eden but I had to fight him. I fought him and lost. He was just a normal human but he actually defeated me, a bear.

He was fighting in an unusual way. He annoyed me and made me charge at him. The result was very clear and I lost.

I wasn't dead yet but Eden came out of the cave. He looked at Eden and nodded. I died after that.

The next thing I know, I was in endless darkness. There I met a fearsomely beautiful woman. She told me the events that had occurred during the time I was dead and sent me back.

I came back with a perfectly normal humanlike body. The first thing I saw was my daughter. She had become a cute human girl and was with him.

I beat the crap out of him for revenge. He didn't resist and took his punishment. Since then, I have decided to call him my husband.

Well, my daughter calls him papa so he might as well be my husband.

I have become a part of his family. He already had another woman with him. She called him master and followed him everywhere. Like she was practically glued to him. And a human girl who lived with him.

A lot of things have happened. We are not on Earth anymore. We have arrived at another planet.

I am on friendly terms with both Hazel and Fay. Clive has become even more powerful than before. But I feel that he is drawing a line between us.

He spaces out a lot and does things at his own pace. He is an easygoing guy. He tries to respect our individual wishes as well. But I don't call myself his wife for nothing.

He is hesitant. What is he hesitating about? He never speaks about it to us. He has someone else who he shares his thoughts with.

Is it that person? That fearsomely beautiful woman whom I met before? His parents have also met her when they came back from the dead. Just who is she?

All these questions arose in my mind. But looking at him, I couldn't help forgetting all of it.

He looks so vulnerable that I want to protect him. I want to do everything for him. And preferably, I want another child.

"What was I thinking?"

I am shocked at my own thoughts. How can I think of something like this?

What had happened to me? I let go of him and get out of bed.

I leave the room and meet with Hazel. She is sitting on the sofa.

"How is master?" (Hazel)

"He is sleeping again. But we have to get something for him to eat."

"That's true. Let's ask Fiona to make something nutritious for him." (Hazel)

Hazel headed to talk with Fiona. She has calmed down a lot. From what I had heard, she was so clingy, Clive had to restrain her at one point.

But now she is like any other person. She has calmed down a lot. Eden went with Fay to fetch a doctor. Hazel is probably talking with Fiona by now.

I sit on the sofa and reflect. This morning, he vanished without a trace and in his place was an unknown woman. She was sleeping peacefully.

When Clive returned, he was interrogated by all of us. The reason was pretty simple.

If you are leaving, tell us beforehand. He disappeared without a trace so it would be a reminder for him.

The sleeping woman woke up and took a bath. Then she disappeared saying, "I will return to my own body."

Clive said she was a planet spirit. But I couldn't see her as nothing more than a normal woman.

Being with him is enjoyable but he doesn't spare a second thought if he decides on something. It's not like he is forcing any of us. All of us are following him of our own volition. This made me realize, how much we have been influenced by him.

I have gotten stronger thanks to him. I think I can fend off anyone who dares to attack us. Now, let's rest while Fay brings a doctor.
