Chapter 5

Coming back to work putting on my

best cloth. I noticed the air in the office is quite different. They kept mumbling

to themselves.

I went closer to a girl. I was not

too close with them because they all felt I was dating Henry. They hated me for

that

" hello what's wrong? What are they

all saying?" I asked

" aren't you dating the ceo ? " she

asked laughing and others laughed with her. I was feeling a bit confused

already.

" ye…..ye…yes I am" I replied

stammering

" I knew you can never marry him.

Don't you know the ceo has a fiancée?" She asked laughing again and others did

the same too.

" fiancée ?" I asked being shocked.

All eye were on me now

" well, she's back now and they are

getting married next month. They already announced it. Don't you watch news?"

She laughed again

" married , fiancee? Really?" I

left still being confused . I decided to go to his office then I saw a woman

coming out of his office. And him following her out. She looks so sharp,

pretty. She can't even be compared to me. I bowed and greeted. He just left

without looking at me after what we did yesterday.

My eye became teary. My legs got

weak. What was I thinking?. Wasn't it just a contract?. The contract is ending

in two months time. I think I should end it now .

He came back going to his office

without saying anything to me. I got pissed and went to his office.

"Henry! What's happening? I heard

you're getting married next month. You never told me anything " I said angrily

" do I have to tell you about my

personal life ?" He replied in pissed tone

" what ? Personal? After all we did

yesterday?" Tears kept dropping from my eye after trying it to hold it for a

while

" so what's wrong with the what

happened ? Are you a kid? Is this your first time doing that?" Now he's looking

at me angrily

" Henry! Is that really what you

are going to say? Aside from what happened yesterday we were on a deal did you

forget that?"

" so what should I say? Were you

expecting me to beg you? Or maybe calling off my wedding for you?" He asker

raising his voice at me

He just looks so different from who

I knew before. I got too ahead of myself. I really made a fool out of myself.

It was a contract anyways. But why do I keep crying.

He continued checking out the files

and documents on his table. Which got me really upset.

" you know what ?" I said while he

raised his head

" the contract is terminated. It's

just 2 months away anyways. Let's just end it" he looked at me and said

"why?"  He asked looking at a bit anxious

" I see no reasons to continue

this. Am done. I will be leaving the company right now. I wish you the best in

your marriage" I said about to leave

"Really ? Did you forget what I did

for your mother ? What's that our agreement? If you breech the contract you

know what will happen right " he said standing up

" is that really what you should be

saying? Was I just a fool you played with? Besides you breeched the contract

first by agreeing to get married " My eye getting blurred with tears.

" does it have a meaning? Wasn't it

just a contract like you've always said? Besides we both satisfied ourselves

nothing happened. It was just a kiss. You are not a child" he shouted at me

" you're right! It was a contract.

The contract is called off. Am leaving now" I said walking away

" you can never leave. And even if anyone

wants to leave or call off this contract that should be me!" He said running

towards me.

He held my hand tightly. His eye on

me intensely. He looks so anxious and he drew me closer to him. Wrapping his

arms around me.

" don't go ! " he said hugging me

tightly. I pushed him back and left angrily in tears.
