Chapter 3

My mum is ready for her surgery. I was

so happy I could pay her surgery fee.

" mum you will be fine now . Just

get the surgery and come back to me " I said looking at her lying helplessly on

the bed

The nurse came

In and said it's time for her

surgery. I stood up immediately not knowing what to do exactly. But i held her

hand and told her she will be fine.

The nurse carried her from the bed

and put her on another bed then left with her.  I started praying for a safe surgery.

"Ava" I heard looking at Mia

calling me. She hugged me and told me it will be fine. I cried on her shoulder.

He kept patting my back and said I did well.

3 hours later

The doctor came out and told me the

surgery was successful. I felt so relieved and hugged Mia . They brought my mum

back and lay her on the bed. The doctor told me she will wake up soon.  

Mia brought my phone saying it was

ringing. It was Henry that was calling.  What does he want I already took a day

off.  I picked the call then he asked me

to come out of the hospital. I got confused why does he want me to come

outside. I went outside the hospital and saw him inside the car. I went to him

and asked him why was he here

 "Hmm I was just passing by so…. Hmm I then

remembered you were here so .. how was the surgery "

What's wrong with him. Since when

was he so interested in what I do. Let me just answer him

" The surgery went well"

" oh great then…so hmm ..take get

the needful for your mother "

He gave me an envelope then zoom

off

I checked the envelope and saw

cash. Why did he give me this? Is he being so sweet or he wants another favour

from me?. Yes I know he wants another favour from me that's why he did this.

I went back my mum woke up already.

I to hugged her and started crying so hard. My mother kept patting my back and

said it's fine now.

My mother already got discharged

from the hospital. I already left for work this morning. On getting to the

office I went to his office. I knocked and he said come in which I did.

"Sir.. thanks for everything " I

said feeling shy

He stood up and pat my head and

said

 "you're welcome. It's your turn now" he said

smiling

He can never change. So rude as

ever. He said we will be going to meet his parents today.

"Today? You didn't tell me that

before " I said being surprised

" do I have to tell you my plans?"

" you're so mean. Okay let's go" I

said

" don't tell me you will going this

way" he said looking at me in utter disbelief

" what's wrong with what am putting

on" I said still confused

" don't worry just follow me " he

said dragging me out out of his office. He kept dragging me. I tried to free my

hand from his grasp.But he didn't let go of my hand.

Everyone kept staring at us and

mumbling to each other. I could hear some saying

"what's this gold digger after ?

Why is the ceo holding her hand like that, are they dating?"  I couldn't look at anyone's face I just

stared at the floor till we got outside.

He opened the door for me which

made my heart skipped a bit. I know I shouldn't be feeling this way because

marrying him is all about contract.

I asked him why he held my hand

when we were coming. I told him he shouldn't have done that. He said how would

I confuse people that we are actually dating if we don't do that.

" Ava you have to make sure people

believes we are dating okay?"  He said

while fastening his seat belt and then zoom off

I kept thinking if I can do this. A

lot of girls in the company all have a crush on him. See the way they kept

looking at me earlier. He's every girl's dream man. Now I have to go to his

parents house. Have watched a lot of movies like this and I know how rich parents

can be .

God I don't know what to do. And I

have to do this. It's what I promised. While still on my thought he told me to

be to get down

"we are here. " my heart skipped

I looked around if we are at his

parents house but we are not.

" why are we here?" I asked looking

confused

" do you think I will allow you to

put on that cloth and follow me to my parents house?" He asked

"Oh " well am not looking too good.

We entered the shopping mall.

Immediately the workers saw us they

came out and all greeted him and said

"sir Henry you're welcome"

Wow he's really a famous man and a

rich man.

" Take her and dress her up" he

said leaving to sit on a sofa

They came closer to me then bow and

I did the same too.  Following them to

where I had to idea of.

I started putting on different

cloth. I continued coming out over and over  to show him the clothes I was putting on but

he kept rejecting all the cloth I was putting on. I was getting tired already.

I really don't know what to do.

I put on a off shoulder black short

gown and a silver heels with a silver bag. Going out to show him again knowing

fully well he will ask me to go back again.

Immediately he saw me he kept

looking at me. His eye not blinking. I kept calling him over and over again he

was not answering. I was confused what's wrong with him.

" Henry!!!"  

"Oh! Yes ! Ah yes this is good

let's go with this" he said adjusting himself.

I felt relieved he wanted this.

After dressing up we went back to the car and zoom off

Getting to his parent house. I got

so nervous. He noticed my hands were shaking. He placed his hand on mine and

smiled at me and i smiled back .

We came back to the car. Feeling down and embarrassed a bit. He smiled

and told me I shouldn't mind them. They are  just like that because they wanted me to marry

another girl. And he can't get married to her

" Are you using me because you

don't want to get married yet?" I asked

" yes I need to stop them so you

should help me" he said in a serious tone

Well what was I thinking all this

is just a contract. Let's not get a personal feeling.

The workers have been giving this

bad energy. Each time I passes through them they insult me, call me a gold

digger.

I went to Henry office to tell him about today's schedule. Upon getting

to his office he was sleeping. His head on the table. It's actually my first

time seeing him sleeping. I really don't know he sleeps too

I went to closer to the desk. He was sleeping like a baby. He's face

looking so clean. I bent over and tried touching his pointed nose. It felt so

soft. My hands kept going from his nose to his lips. He opened his eye. I got shocked

and while  tried running out he grabbed

my hand and drew me back and I found myself sitting on his lap. I was so

confused on what to do.

Then his face kept coming closer to

me and I found myself closing my eye. His lip landed on mine I felt butterflies

in my stomach. My heart skipped. Everything around me stopped. He grabbed my

waist and his other hand on my neck bringing me more closer to himself.

He kept kissing me which I

responded to. I opened my eye and got shocked at what happened I pushed him and

then ran out of the office.

I saw myself running to the ladies

restroom. My heart kept racing looking at the mirror my cheeks were red. I saw

myself smiling.

"Ava stop this. You can't do this

else you will hurt yourself. He's not yours. You're just pretending to date

him. The contract will end in months time. " I kept saying slapping my cheek

After few minutes I went back to my

desk.

I tried avoiding him all day till I

left work.
