He looked at the Circus Spider-Man, whose spider battle suit resembled a theatrical costume more than combat gear, and had a sudden idea. "Do you know the Bible?"
The Circus Spider-Man nodded. "Of course, Mr. Watson attends church for worship every week."
Mark continued, "Heaven, where God of the Bible and angels reside, as well as Hell, where Lucifer and demons dwell, are another world distinct from the human realm. This is a concept also known as the 'multiverse.' So, do you understand now?"
The Circus Spider-Man nodded with some confusion. "I—I think I do. So, are you an angel?"
Mark rolled his eyes. "Do I look like a birdman to you?"
"Uh..." The Circus Spider-Man carefully observed Mark, then shook his head. "Not really. It's said angels have halos and are all handsome or beautiful."
Mark: ?
Young man, you're quite brave, huh?
"Uh...," sensing the dangerous vibe from Mark's eyes, the Circus Spider-Man forced a chuckle, "Okay, I think I understand what you mean now. In short, this is a world similar to where I live, uh, a similar world."
When he mentioned "similar," he paused.
Evidently, the desolation nearby made his statement somewhat insincere.
Mark rolled his eyes. "Alright, stop explaining. As long as you understand the situation now."
"Oh, by the way, what about Mary Jane and Mr. Watson? Did that guy, Morlun, go after them?" The Circus Spider-Man suddenly asked anxiously.
Mark shook his head. "Don't worry, Morlun's targets are people like you and me with totemic powers. To him, others are no different from ants. Normally, he won't harm them. It's like when you see ants on the road; you don't deliberately step on them because you.. just don't care."
Although the analogy was a bit extreme, it was easily understandable and quite fitting.
In the eyes of members of the Inheritors who almost possess eternal life, apart from totems seen as food, those who hinder them from eating are just to be ignored.
The Circus Spider-Man didn't mind his comparison and sighed in relief. "Then I can relax. You said you also have that totemic power? Are you..."
He suddenly remembered what Mark had said earlier.
Mark directly pressed his hand, and the nanosuit instantly adhered to his body.
Seeing this suit, many times cooler than his own costume, the Circus Spider-Man's eyes sparkled.
Subsequently, Mark retracted the suit. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Mark, the Space-Time Spider-Man."
"Space-Time Spider-Man? Wow, not only is your suit cool, but your name is also so cool, much better than mine!" The Circus Spider-Man cheered. "So, what should I be called? Clown Spider-Man? You know, even though I really wanted to perform drama in the circus, they always prefer watching me do acrobatics. I'm indeed a clown. Clown Spider-Man, it fits."
"Emm," Mark patted his shoulder. "No need to be so down. Everyone has their unique traits. But considering we'll have many different Spider-Man companions later on, let's give you a special title. How about Circus Arachnid?"
"Circus Arachnid?" The Circus Spider-Man, or rather, Circus Arachnid, pondered for a moment and shrugged. "Alright, I have to admit, you're really good at naming. Let's go with Circus Arachnid then. And how should I address you? How about Big Boss?"
"Although I don't want to admit it, you saved me, and you're cooler and more powerful than me. Besides, I trust you. I believe you can lead me and those unfamiliar companions to victory. Right, boss?"
"Alright, as you wish," Mark smiled.
"Boss, huh, not bad," Circus Arachnid added. "I'm curious, do the other Spider-Men also go by the name Peter Parker?"
Mark replied, "Yes, well, most are called Peter Parker, and there are quite a few with other names. Those named with other names, though, should be rare."
"Oh, I see." Circus Arachnid grinned proudly.
Mark was about to tease him again when suddenly his expression changed. Sensing his shift in mood, Circus Arachnid also restrained his smile.
"What's wrong, boss?"
Mark looked towards the sky. "Stay here and rest for a while. Someone else is in danger."
"Need me to come..." Circus Arachnid was about to ask if he needed to join but found Mark had already vanished before he could finish his sentence. "Left in a hurry. Seems the situation over there is very urgent. Boss, go for it!"
With determination, he looked around at the desolation, clenched his fist, "I need to train hard too and help the boss sooner!"

Earth-982.
Queens.
Forest Mountain.
The houses in the entire neighborhood had long turned into rubble, buried in a sea of fire.
"Let her go, you're about to kill her! Come at me if you have a problem!" a young man shouted hoarsely.
His fists relentlessly pounded the person in front of him.
However, the other person remained unfazed.
A man with an extremely burly figure stood amidst the flames. His hair draped over his shoulders, wearing a suit stretched tightly on his frame, resembling a bear wearing human clothes.
He stood in the midst of the inferno, the flames around him powerless.
With a casual move, he pinned the young man against the wall, rendering him immobile.
Under his left foot lay a petite figure.
This figure was adorned in a spider battle suit! ---
"I am Mayday Parker. My father was once a great superhero, and I grew up idolizing him."
"As time passed, I discovered that I inherited his superpowers!"
"So, I took over his identity, striving to be a person like my father."
"People call me: Spider-Girl!"
Mayday Parker was pinned down, unable to move at all.
She felt her sternum completely crushed, broken ribs possibly piercing her organs.
Liver or lung?
It didn't matter.
"At this moment, I'm willing to give everything, just to survive this monster's hands along with my father."
---
The monster-like man lowered his head, drooling as he stared at Mayday Parker.
Hearing the young man's accusation, he calmly said, "No, kid, I didn't intend to kill her. I'm just softening the meat to make it tastier!"
"What?!" The young man widened his eyes.
The next moment, he erupted in anger, "No, I won't let you harm Mayday!"
"Heh! Kid, you can't stop me because I am Daemos!" Daemos sneered, "Son of Solus, one of the inheritors of all things! And you..."
As he spoke, he exerted a slight force with his elbow.
Boom!
The already crumbling wall collapsed, and the young man was flung out.
Daemos glanced coldly and said, ".Just a speck of dust, a mere fragment in the wind! Die!"
Boom!
The young man's body crashed heavily into the ruins, his fate uncertain.
"No!" Mayday Parker's eyes widened abruptly, a roar in her heart, "Weiss, please, don't die!"
She struggled several times, trying to break free.
But Daemos' foot on her seemed like a thousand pounds. Even so, with her spider strength, she should have been able to lift it easily.
Daemos' force felt like a mountain on her, almost suffocating her, as her consciousness began to blur.
"This monster's target is me. I brought him here, brought him near my family. Weiss, I'm sorry," Mayday Parker despaired.
Just then, a figure with a limp appeared not far away.
Beside him was a middle-aged woman holding a baby.
"Peter, your leg," the middle-aged woman worried about her husband's injury.
Her husband, Peter Parker, lost a leg in a battle with the Green Goblin and usually relied on a bionic prosthetic leg obtained from Mr. Fantastic for movement.
Afterward, he decided to retire and live a normal life, not engaging in battles for many years.
This world's Peter Parker had indeed aged; nearing fifty, his strength and abilities had waned, even showing some gray hair.
Yet, at this moment, with one foot on the ground, his body slightly crouched, he still embodied the spirit of Spider-Man from his youth.
He stared fiercely at Daemos. searching for the perfect opportunity to strike, saying, "Mary Jane, that's our daughter. It's just a leg! Who am I? I am..."
"...Spider-Man!"
Boom!
There was a faint rumble, and Peter transformed into Spider-Man once again, a nimble figure like a released arrow, crashing fiercely into Daemos!
At that moment, Daemos had just dealt with Mayday Parker's boyfriend, Weiss, unable to evade, and was actually knocked away by Peter.
Daemos staggered, looking at this middle-aged man with gray hair and a missing leg, praising, "Impressive!"
Peter struck another punch at Daemos' face.
But this time, Daemos didn't budge.
He grinned, reaching out to grab Peter's head, lifting it up.
Boom!
Peter raised a foot, slamming it hard onto Daemos.
"Back off, freak! My daughter is not on your menu, got it?"
Daemos sneered, "Huh? Are you kidding me? Do you think I traveled all this way just to eat a spider totem?"
"No, no, no, of course, there's also that little one!" Daimones gestured towards Mary Jane holding the baby, Benjamin Parker.
"...I'm here to devour your entire family, understood?"
